I absolutely cannot wait. Finally there is a game which should prove worthy enough to cast COD from its throne, and reclaim that position for itself. I am very excited for this game not only for the multiplayer, but the singelplayer will hopefully deliver as well. Of course nothing can beat StarCraft when it comes down to being epic, but I guess playing BF3 in between of SC2 sessions will in fill the gaps; something which I believe is needed (read: balance). So yeah, anticipation for this game is high and let's hope that it lives up to it's expectations.

I'm fairly certain you will have to have Origin installed to play regardless of how you purchase the game. So even if it were to appear on Steam, you wouldn't be able to launch it without Origin, which I'm guessing is what you don't want.

Sure, it's not as streamlined and feature rich as Steam is... but are you really going to avoid buying a game simply because you have to spend an extra ten seconds loading origin once each time you play? Dunno about you but for me that's probably 0.000001% of my playtime. This whole Origin backlash reminds me of when Steam first game out and everyone was boycotting it and saying it would never go anywhere. Steam was at least really buggy back then... Origin is not. None of these complaints against it are valid. I mean I don't see anyone boycotting Starcraft 2 because it's not on Steam or because it uses a really crappy server structure. Origin is a lot nicer than Blizzard's system and Battlelog is better than Battle.net 2 so... why the hate on BF3 but not on SC2? Just seems like you and everyone else that dislikes origin is a hypocrite and/or has some hidden agenda.

So I wouldn't give too much on it. On October 21 2011 23:42 Serejai wrote: That's really childish. There's nothing wrong with Origin at all. Something tells me you haven't actually read the EULA. b) The reason why BF3 isn't on Steam is because of Battlelog. It's the same reason why Minecraft is not on Steam. In order for BF3 to be on Steam they would have to retune Battlelog to connect to Steam constantly or scrap the idea completely. Steam is very strict about content control and even things like patches have to be approved and can take weeks to do so. It's a great distribution system but it's not really fit for games like BF3 and until it is you're more than likely not going to see DICE spend their resources making a Steam-friendly Battlelog client.

Or a /sarcasm. :-( I'm not getting it regardless. It looks pretty epic, and I really don't care about Origin, but with Skyrim, D3, DotA 2,.......yeah. Just not going to get it.

Oh, it wasn't necessarily directed at you. Just in general... a lot of people seem to be boycotting the game because of Origin and don't have a reason other than "LOL STEAM #1" or "EA SUX!!11!!". But yes, it's hard to tell sarcasm in this thread :o EDIT: Yeah, BF3 is the game I'm looking forward to the most... but I think between the other games you listed I'll have trouble finding time to play it myself as well.

If you don't want to run yet another game client I completely understand that. Personally I find it annoying having to launch steam and origin to play my games. But if you naively believe that EA is somehow doing perverse things with your information that other companies would never think of doing, you're an idiot. I just can't picture anyone who thinks Origin is some shocking new threat to their privacy having any idea how to actually protect their personal information in the first place. I can't take you guys seriously

Haha, they even have random, high-action car chases. Definitely CoD-like, as car chases have been a CoD staple since CoD1. Looks like a fun, gorgeous campaign. It's a shame that I won't be playing the game since my laptop can't run the game, but I'll be sure to watch livestreams and videos of playthroughs if I have time.
