Jund agro twice in a row. Sad times. Think I'm just going to play a different deck. Won a draft side event, though.

Certainly not a fun match up Risen. I am inclined to just build my deck purely for the Jund match up at this point and then consider other options when DGM comes out.

Are you speaking of Experiment Aggro Jund, or the midrange jund deck?

Either, they don't play the same, but the post-board games can be similar depending on the lists.

So I went a little overboard a spent a bit more than I should have and completed an Aristocrats and a Naya Humans to go along with my BR Zombies and RDW, now I'm thinking of cutting down to just 1 deck but I can't decide which to keep.

Crackhead....

Jokes aside, did Bant make a come back or something? I ran into more Bant players just now in testing than I have for like the last 5 months.

Also, BlueBird, what I meant was to play really narrow hate cards. As long as Jund plays Lilys I have to find an efficient response to that card.

I have only seen 1-2 bants in the last two weeks, seems everyone jumped ship to jund and esper over here.

I brought back my Dreadbores for Lily

I know this was a discussion like 2 days ago about things not working properly, and then the MOCS was today, and Pillar of Flame was not exiling undying cards like strangleroot geist and Geralf Messenger.

I lost a game in a daily event trying to pillar a strangleroot geist, I had to trade with it a turn later with huntmaster, ended 3-1.

There were 3 Zombie decks in the top 4 of the MOCS supposedly.

I still finished 3-1, I put in a ticket but I heard from a friend they don't refund if you prized anymore.

I feel bad for the players that played the MOCS unaware though, can't imagine, what kind of tickets were filed today.

I used to get refunded for stuff like that even though I prized though, so don't know if that's 100% accurate.

I'm watching SCG rd 9, go Vegas player Torrez!

Yeah, not sure if he thought through the RG aggro player's lines well enough.

Congrats to your friend BlueBird.

Also, friend took my deck again to the Classic in Louisville, shames there's no live coverage. Only update I got was that he was 6-0-1, which I assume will be good enough for the cut.

Playing a different Esper control now, the card-for-card list featured in an SCG article:

+ Show Spoiler +
Creatures (9)

4 Augur of Bolas
3 Restoration Angel
2 Snapcaster Mage

Lands (27)

2 Island
1 Plains
4 Drowned Catacomb
4 Glacial Fortress
2 Godless Shrine
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Isolated Chapel
4 Nephalia Drownyard
2 Watery Grave

Spells (24)

4 Azorius Charm
2 Devour Flesh
2 Dissipate
1 Dramatic Rescue
4 Sphinx's Revelation
4 Think Twice
1 Ultimate Price
2 Planar Cleansing
4 Supreme Verdict

Sideboard

2 Witchbane Orb
2 Gloom Surgeon
2 Rest in Peace
1 Dispel
2 Negate
1 Psychic Spiral
1 Sundering Growth
2 Obzedat, Ghost Council
2 Jace, Memory Adept

The article also gave me some nice tips. Was a bit of a breakthrough to hear this:

"There's nothing wrong with casting Supreme Verdict on a single creature. There is no shame in three for one-ing yourself to get rid of your opponent's Liliana of the Veil. It really doesn't matter how little "value" you get out of your cards as long as they are stopping your opponent from killing you and building towards the end game.

The neat thing about Sphinx's Revelation is that it undoes every advantage your opponent has gained. You three for one'd yourself to kill Liliana? Congratulations, you survived long enough to cast a Sphinx's Revelation for four, and now your opponent is behind."

The nickel-and-dime card advantage style is un-necessary against decks that don't run Sphinx. That card is just so powerful that I can trade evenly or even poorly all day, and then undo it all in a single turn. It's definitely changed the way I look at the deck now.
<@Wikt> so you are one of those nega-fans <@Wikt> that hates the company that makes a game and everything they stand for <@Wikt> but still plays the game <@Wikt> (like roughly 30% of blizzard's player base, maybe much more...)

I don't agree with that list and nor does PV. Cleansing is good in the Jund match up but not that good in the mainboard (it gains value post board once more of their PWs, Staffs comes in, aka more permanents that you have to handle). The issue is the other match ups and not so much the Jund match up. Terminus is a better card in the format, Cleansing is the better card in the match up.

Dunno, I am looking at Wafo-Tapa's builds and trying out his brand.

The problem with that plan is sometimes sphinxs for 4 draws 4 lands or even 3 lands and a weak spell and you end up further behind.
-the three for one-ing yourself that is
I can already see the ending

Mind sending me the list you're using? I'd be happy to check it out. I have noticed Planar Cleansing is pretty underwhelming so far, but I do enjoy the creature base.

I'll send the one my friend took to the SCG Classic in Louisville, he dropped by FMN to borrow it and we talked for like 15 minutes in between rounds about the Jund match up and what to do about it.

+ Show Spoiler +

// Lands
4 [ISD] Isolated Chapel
4 [M13] Drowned Catacomb
4 [M13] Glacial Fortress
4 [RTR] Hallowed Fountain
1 [RTR] Island (1)
1 [AVR] Swamp (3)
1 [M13] Plains (4)
3 [GTC] Watery Grave
3 [ISD] Nephalia Drownyard
1 [GTC] Godless Shrine

// Creatures
3 [ISD] Snapcaster Mage
1 [M13] Augur of Bolas
1 [AVR] Restoration Angel
1 [GTC] Obzedat, Ghost Council

// Spells
4 [RTR] Sphinx's Revelation
1 [DKA] Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
4 [RTR] Supreme Verdict
3 [ISD] Dissipate
2 [M13] Jace, Memory Adept
1 [GTC] Dimir Charm
2 [DKA] Tragic Slip
1 [RTR] Ultimate Price
2 [ISD] Forbidden Alchemy
1 [AVR] Terminus
2 [RTR] Azorius Charm
2 [ISD] Think Twice
1 [M13] Planar Cleansing
2 [GTC] Psychic Strike

// Sideboard

SB: 1 [RTR] Detention Sphere
SB: 2 [GTC] Devour Flesh

SB: 1 [ISD] Ghost Quarter
SB: 2 [RTR] Rest in Peace
SB: 1 [RTR] Psychic Spiral
SB: 1 [ISD] Witchbane Orb
SB: 2 [M13] Duress

That was what he took to Louisville, dunno what exactly what he did to it, although if I had to guess, the Dimir Charm/Sorin/some combination of removal came out for the Angel and others.

Edit:

Took home 600 bucks, he's buying my next draft.
