Because the Friends and Family Beta has started. So some people are already playing the Beta.
Imo the MF should be balanced with survivability and not DPS. When you balance it with DPS it becomes counter productive since you are killing mobs slower. When you balance it with survivability theres more room for skilled player to use their know-how and reflexes to properly judge engagements and choose witch skills to use. Everybody knows why hammerdins were so popular - they were really easy to use.

no no you guys are not answering me, on the skill calc, it says 13,000 max heal @ level 60 with a rank 7 runestone
i'm trying to see why its so high by comparing the health of a level 13 character. so does anyone actually know how much hp they have? so i can like make a guess at what health youll be at 60 to warrant blizzard having such high heals? is the average hp for a character going to be 20,000? or like 2000? @ max level
you can also look at other spells too monk has a rune that has a 75% chance to heal 1000 hp per hit, barbs have a cry to heal 400health / per sec... so ... the hp must go really high in this game

herp pulling numbers outta my ass from vauge memory of scrolling over random skills for 10 mins 4790-6387 -> 9820-13093 breath of heaven =p Which i have no way to understand is that when you obtain it cuz the dmg for numbers is really small like 50's and 150's yet this healing number is so high just wondering what's the mechanic that effects this numbers because apparently healing isn't one of them.

I think the damage numbers are so low because they will have the attack stat and other modifiers applied to them. Being that the attack stat increases damage, it would make sense that it isn't applied to healing abilities. They do still seem kind of low compared to the heals, but we don't really have a good feel for what end game itemization will look like. I do expect the health/mana pools to be higher than we were used to in diablo 2 though. The life/mana gaining abilities certainly point to that.

No it's not bright and rainbows. It's well made and colors fit, gloomy when needed, misty etc.
It has a "cartoonish" feel about it but I don't want to be misunderstood, this is no disney, it is a lot closer to artworks of the game if you see what I mean and it feels great in my opinion, but don't fool yourself it is not Dead space 2 either.
On the rune discution, it is also clearly a work in progress from blizzard, the jay interview give some new ideas that weren't even tried the 1st August. I think the base of it that we know for sure will be there but some things they are still working on (atunement, swaping, trading etc).

Anyone else a little bothered by the Cathedral layout? The area it generates is very linear (as in, lots of hallways). I'm worried there won't be any levels akin to the indoor areas of Diablo 2 where there are lots of interlocking rooms and not so many hallways.

Don't worry, thats just part of the learning curve. Similar to how some places in Diablo 2 were simple to navigate in normal mode and then later on were mind numbing mazes I.E. Durance Level 2.
The extra dungeons in act 1 have that old school feel though from what I saw. Particularly in the graveyard crypts where that old nonlinear design style shines through. The game is still built from random tilesets so I think it would actually be quite difficult to keep the game very linear. There were some videos at Blizzcon last year showing all the possible combos just for act 1.

To opt-in you need to create a Battle.net account and attach any Blizzard title that has a CD-Key you can attach. If you’re opted in then that means you do have a game attached, and you’re all set – you’re in the pool to be selected just like everyone else.
