tradition gets a slight nerf but still is strong. I like that early warmongering is being encouraged. piety is still too weak to be an opening

man, i wish they tweak Marathon gameplay a bit. I enjoy playing that mode so much (and the only mode I play)

Scale warmonger penalties by era (50% of normal strength in Ancient up to 90% in Industrial; 100% thereafter). <---- this is the most important change.

This makes me want to play Civ 5 again.

Brilliant. Does clicking that take you to the steam page for BE? Would have been lame if that was the only reason they patched the game, but there are some meaningful changes as well.

yeah it actually takes you to the steam store. Going back to civ V for a game I actually noticed how bleak the colour scheme of BE is. I really like the 'flashiness' of Civ V.

I realize this is a crazy bump, but I have no choice. I must profess my addiction to this game. I am late to the party (and the franchise). But wow, what a game. My first play through I started as the Inca at the second lowest difficulty and easily rolled all the AI with a science victory while holding the strongest military. So I upped it to King as Babylon now and its a bit better. I am going for the science victory again. I was allied with Rome but intrigue told me they were plotting against me, during their domination of France and Sweden. They were also stealing techs left and right so I told them to stop, they didnt, so I denounced. They continued stealing so I declared war. Its been really hard as they boasted the largest military. However I allied the city states to their capital border to the immediate north and south which gave me the window I needed. Just finished puppeting Rome. Going to liberate Paris then demand peace.

I definitely enjoy the early parts of the game the most. Exploring, looking for that "sweet spot" for the next city, wonders, finding ruins, medieval battles. Once the modern era begins I start thinking of atomic bombs and whos racing with me for the win.

Just had to let that out. What a game. Im so stupid for waiting this long to play.

CIV games are very addicting thats true. One of most addicting games once You find particular version attractive.

Never too late to start. I've played around 700 hours and I'm only at 75% of the achievements. You should try alternating between the standard games and the scenarios. Some of the achievements that require a deity win takes me weeks to finish lol.

Yeah I absolutely intend to explore this entire game. The depth is incredible. Just the right balance for me. Surprised that this thread hasnt had any posts since 2015.
