I'm a Falco main with a decent grab on advanced tech, but there's one thing I haven't been able to figure out and that is shine OoS. I know this may seem like a silly question because to act out of shield you just need to jump out, but I cannot figure out the fastest way to shine OoS. What are some methods that you guys use?

claw grip? I just use my thumb. It took a shitload of practice to get it down without hitting A when dropping Y->B. Also, using Y for jump. Or alternately using up but I found that harder because I'd usually just firebird or firefox

Yeah just practice going from Y to B really fast. It's basically just a multishine but while shielding and with only 1 b press.

you can also buffer a jump out of your shield with the c stick
i dont play spacies and some people i know use that method and others dislike it because it can be ugly with unexpected amounts of shieldstun

yes, but hitstun strikes again and you can end up doing a nair, or if you're slow you'll do uair.

yea or you can slam both sticks upwards while in shield
its basically the same thing, you jump oos with the control stick and usmash out of your jumpsquat with c stick

Too bad the "General Event/LR Thread" thread is still closed. No place to talk about Heir III.

Lets just do it here then!
I went and it was fucking amazing. Their slogan is no lie, it's more than a tournament. Almost feels like a smash festival or something. The location is just absolutely amazing and you're either playing smash or partying.

I went to Heir 2, promised I'd bring a belgian crew and we delivered We took 2 stocks off england (our 15 year old is a beast, he almost took out alphadash in the first game) but then BrTarolg just came in and techchased us all to smithereens. I had to go up against dev last game I think, got 4 stocked pretty easily. Swiss didn't have enough people sadly so we won by DQ. But then we were matched against USA ... chudat basically wobbled us all to hell lmao. We only took two stocks off of him. What a guy / troll.

We actually crewbattled vs Wales as a revenge for the eurocup. This was actually really hype, fun and way more closely matched. They've gotten a lot better since last year too. I sent in our new guy as a last pick vs a falco, he did some good stuff but we ended up losing to 2 stocks left. Didn't matter though, was great anyway

Overall 10/10 would recommend any european to go!

Shine is coming up soon! I won't be there but I helped seed a lot of it. I'm actually really looking forward to Friday, because there will be a ton of not very well-known but really skilled New England / Tri-state players playing their pools They don't have as much national exposure as some regions, so watch out for new or lesser-known players like:

MA: Squible, Klap$, dudutsai, Rime, Kyu Puff, Sora, BVB, BigFoig, BonkCushy, Mr. Lemon, Mr. Tuesday, Younger, Hart, PSI, Makari
NH: Infinite Numbers, Tian, Kalvar
CT: lint, Ambisinister, Fury, Admiral
RI: RyuCloud, Musgraves
VT: GSO, Seabass
NJ: C!Z, Zealous5000, Ryobeat, mayb, PudgyPanda, Son2, TheSWOOPER, Kevorkian, ADVANCED, Emanon
NY: iBDW, NY Joey, Vino, Young
PA: Stango, Bones, R2DLiu, BMC, Widl [actually from Norway]
Quebec: Legend, Tranimal

Three of New England's top four (Slox, Crush, Mafia) will be entering, missing only Zoso who will be there but isn't entering. Plus, there will be plenty of oldschool NE / Tri-state players like KDJ, Dazwa, th0rn, Swiftbass, KevinM, T. Webb, Nuro, and Hayato, along with Florida to New England transplants Liquid`Crunch and BluEG.

Most people only like to watch nationals for the top players, but I definitely encourage watching some of these listed players in R1 and R2 pools!

SFAT in crews is basically the ultimate boss, but first lol

https://www.twitch.tv/vgbootcamp

He took off 12 stocks hahahaha

EDIT: He and SilentWolf from NorCal easily took out the entire team "NEU Falco Only" (even though the FO team played other characters too). Final score was 14-0 lmao.

Agreed. Great tournament. Mango vs SFAT was ridiculous, and M2K's Marth is on sparkling form which is so nice to see. GGs to everyone. =)

Sheridan (Dr. Z) actually played insanely well during Norcal's last two crew battles, destroying Faceroll (rip ) and taking 4 from Axe / 1 from KJH against the Prince Squad.

Then he lost to Axe and Blahyay in bracket Good job Blahyay btw, with the best performance by a r1 pool 2 seed in tournament; he plays Sheik, and beat his 1 seed, Legend (Puff) the Kage slayer, in his r1 pool, lost to Ginger (Falco), then beat Vino (Marth) and Dr. Z (Puff) before falling to Abu. Super solid wins.

Overall pretty interesting tournament. Plup Fox is gonna be amazing. I wish I could see what happened in Nintendude vs Mango. Swedish beats Westballz as usual. Maybe we should look into sacrificing absolute ordering in seeding for less-often-played matchups.

SFAT played out of his mind, finally broke the Hbox choking curse (thanks Duck???) and should now be solidly considered #7 behind top 5 and Plup; no PP because he's inactive. As of now I'd only favor the top 5, Westballz, and maybe Plup['s Sheik/Samus] over SFAT.

Zealous5000 (Marth), lint (Falco), and Son2 (Falco) are all new up-and-comers who made top 48 (and look, I listed them in my post before Shine ) Look out for them in the future!

I think we did a mostly good job with the R1 singles/doubles pools seeding and crews seeding, though some of the 1 seeds I pushed for got upset :/ looking at you Emanon T_T

Most unfortunate bracket was probably Abu losing to Ginger and then Duck... sorry Abu.

Son2 is the best player in my area (Southern NJ) and his falco is siiiiick. Glad to see him do fairly well at a national.
