School is in session and we had a nice growth of .71% in the past two weeks. MMORPG's are back as the games of choice for our PC users as they escape from work/school. Our biggest gain was .62 for Aion which I am sure is gaining a bit of popularity more with the NA Launch today. The biggest loss was SA at .22 which is in line with our other FPS titles. The only movement was W3 dropping a spot even with gains as WoW pushes up another notch to show it's still a contender for peoples money. Overall ever MMORPG gained while most casual pick up games dropped showing people just want to dig in at the moment and surrender to the familiar.
Blizzard with 3 games in Top 5. But what the mole ... Aion first place with ~18%. Thats almost as much as WC3, SC and WoW alltogether? I am really confused since I played Aion beta and I really don't see how this game made it to the top three, let alone first place. Seems like I don't get korean gaming mentality at all :/
Also Sudden Attack on the second place. This game is utterly crap. Meh
EDIT:
Okay, that's what I got as response to my question how exactly it's measured:
The information I gather daily from http://www.gametrics.com/ which tracks many things. I focus of their tracking of games being played from various internet connections. If I remember correctly the established connection isn't fully counted until at least 15m-30m of connect time has been acheived with the product. The measurements are basically unique connections from homes, offices, and businesses (such as connections from restaurants and hotels) mixed with information gathered from Internet Cafes (The main gaming area for Korean gamers) of their client logs. They also factor the amount of time played by people into the equation to get a better understanding of how much a particular game is being played and by how many people to show it's presence in the market place. Hope this helps.
Lol... Aion is just another high priced mmo for people to waste their time on. Does anyone else wish the mmorpg genre would die a little so they would actually have to be innovative
for what it's worth... when I go to the PC bang (not that often anymore), the only games I see being played by more then 1/2 people are Wc3 (specifically Dota or the korean version), SC, SA, WoW or Aion... which are the top 5 there... but interestingly Dota seems to be hot these days... you always get groups of 5 schoolkids sitting next to each other playing the HELL out of that game... like... I came back once afte ra couple of hours and they hadnt moved...
I have a PC bang under my house (it's an elevator away) so sometimes I go there just to play Dota with some friends : )
Edit: 95% of times when you go to a random PC Bang... the people playing SC are NOT playing melee... but strange and terrible looking UMS
like... HOW MANY MARINES CAN YOU FIT ON A SINGLE BOARD or.... HOW MANY REAVERS DOES IT TAKE TO KILL A BILLION ULTRALISKS
All my Korean friends at school here in the States are playing Aion and none have expressed interest in playing beyond the campaign in SC2, let alone returning to BW. It thoroughly disheartens me.

DotA is INSANELY popular in south east asian countries. DotA killed popular games like CS 1.6, SC, and WC3 over there, which is why top DotA teams are usually Malaysian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, etc.
Wow, Sudden Attack over Special Force? Last time I checked, Special Force was the most popular FPS in Korea.

Correct me if I am wrong but Dota is in fact part of WC3 and arguably a subordinate of WC3 so Dota is a part of the WC3 universe. Thus making your biased statement fueled and based off of envy of a rivaling e-Sport game to SC you wish to slander it in anyway possible, pitiful.
