No doubt his muta/ling micro is top notch and he plays very well early-mid game, but I've never been blown away by his late game.

he may have superb ling micro but the question is: can he dance with Bisu at the same place as he does in the same field? that's going to be a very hard question to answer yes to since Bisu has made VERY few micro mistakes (as ive seen). not trying to bag on cornrows here but he's gonna have to multitask at the same place with Bisu as well, something im very skeptical about.

to be stopped by bisu[shield] like that.
in few words bisu crushed kwanro sense and strategy. or what his wins were made of.
but it was good to see kwanro get this far.
you forgot that south korea supports hwasin. why lecaf oz was 8-0 in proleague? answer: experience and dedication. there is no mystery or trick. korean proleague is made of starcraft champions.

Stopped short by Bisu, as many people expected.

It wasn't close... at all...

Better luck next year.

The masslings in game 2 didn't even win either. I hope his performance was a reflection of nerves and just not a product of a low-econ, micro-happy, no-game-sense, bad-macro style.

Thanks for putting everyone's spoiler efforts to waste.

I personally wouldn't care, but some people will bound to complain

i thought he did VERY well in game 2 and almost reached the threshhold of being able to take down bisu in early AND around mid game but bisu is just a monster and created a huge army during all that harassment. game 3 was over when he lost his scouting OL

I think you highly overrated [sam].

I did watch some of the games you talked about, especially the 3 hatchery, mass lings into mutalisk, and he caught my eye, I believe this is the first time I noticed him.

I did feel that he was an unconventional zerg as you mentioned, which gives him the advantage in cases where scouting is not practical by his opponent.

But the bottom line is, he has a very unorthadox style if you will. Notice, that if he doesn't win with his strategy he won't. Furthermore, I noticed that his control is actually very poor. Being a zerg player, zergling micro is not that hard, simply surround and destroy. Your ability to micromanage zerglings is more based on your opponent's placement and understanding of your strategy. His mutalisk is average, and his decision making skills are poor to say the least.

He does not have the ability, or chooses not to play the standard zerg style. After a while, people will recognize him and counter-act him accordingly. Boxer is the perfect example, he likes to cheeze, and if you'll notice, many smart players scout earlier because of this against him.

In addition, the mistakes he made against Bisu were inexcusable and downright pathetic. If you can't do the basics, that puts your ability into question. I have never watched him 'dominate' a game like Savior can do, he always involves risk and uncertainty.

His macromanagement is terrible.

One thing I do agree, he is the most aggressive zerg to the point of stupidity I have ever seen. And the only thing that goes through his mind is KILL KILL KILL. And his play portrays that.

The only good that comes out of him is Savior can watch the wacky shit he does and maybe add to his own playstyles. The 1 hatch play was genius. [Sam] is just stupid, and sloppy to the point where it makes the other player seem sloppy.

BTW: Check out Magma[S.G], I have my mind on him and Jaedong as the next big zerg. GGplay is terrible too.

Haran isn't bad, I havn't seen enough to make a decision. He won by more of build order. A condition for me to be a good player is to be able to play straight up.

Jaedong's weakness is his decision making skills, which recently have seemed to improve at a lot. But I always had faith in his potential because of his excellent micro. Arguably, he overfocuses on micro and if he used more of his apm on macro his game improves.

There's actually a trait I like very much that Savior and Bisu portrays that not many others portray. When they get an advantage, they don't keep spamming zerglings or w/e in a quick attempt to end it, but they rather, macro up and play a longer game, with this advantage rather then try to end it quickly and hence their greater consistency.

Any comments on Magma though? He's been around for a while but only noticed him now. Good example is with his game against Boxer. Excellent micro and decision making.

Personally, I think Kwanro is still a really dope player. Personally, to me, it looked more like he choked, not suffered from his bad skills. If you noticed, his macro was off, micro was panicked, econ was low... he played very skittish. He made some careless mistakes for a pro to make, like the overlord loss to the cannon in game 3. In moments like that alone I am convinced that it was an instance of choking and not lack of skill. I'm holding out to see him in the future. Everybody should get more than one chance, especially after brutally raping players like Light in legit tournaments.

yea i think he choked too =(
he made too many mistakes for it to be "because he is a non-skilled player" than "paniced". I still think he's a very good player with potential. Maybe it's just because he's up against Bisu and he just shat his pants (I would) and played horribly.

Of course that is another thing too, to control your nerves. However I think he'll have plenty of opportunities in the future to train that =D
Yea that looks just like Kang Min... amazing game sense... and uses mind games well, but has the micro of a washed up progamer.
