How do you feel about returning to Code S after two seasons?

I was a player who was always in Code S. Since I fell off, it feels so good to come back to Code S. Recently, I’ve realized that it is tiring to try to make it back into Code S.

You did not have a bright expression on during your matches. Were there any problems regarding your condition?

After my match against Dark, even though I didn’t really do anything wrong, it felt like I had lost in an overwhelming manner. Also, I haven’t really had that many experiences lately with televised matches so I think I got more nervous. I didn’t have a good expression because I didn’t have a good feeling.

It must not have been easy to practice up for the new maps. How did you prepare?

Since my group consisted of 2 Zergs, I did get to practice on the new maps with hyvaa hyung. But I wasn’t able to practice a lot. It’s not difficult to adapt, but right now I’m in the deciphering stage.

Even though it was your opponent who chose the third map, you still went for a proxy rax strategy. How come?

I thought that that map was good for Zergs. It felt like I would lose if I went for a macro game, so I decided to improvise. I think I was able to execute it peacefully.

What do you think about things after the patch took place? Did Terran gain strength from it?

The patch took place and all, but I actually think things are difficult right now. There are no “this is it” compositions when it comes to TvZ. I’m trying things out but nothing comes of it, and it feels like macro games are difficult as well.

What do you think about your recent diminishing momentum regarding televised matches?

Whenever I try to play like I do for practice, I tend to make a lot of mistakes. But in my opinion, the biggest deciding factor is my mindset. I think I keep making mistakes because of the pressure.

It must not be easy to find practice partners sine you’re on an overseas team. What do you think about this?

Since I’m not necessarily someone who has a large network, I tend to just practice with players that I know. Because of this, my range is narrow. I think this is a problem that I need to learn how to overcome. Also, even though KeSPA players all have solid basics, since I don’t have to practice as hard as I used to when I was on a KeSPA team, I can’t help but think that my basics have diminished these days.

This season’s goals?

My first goal was Code S. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Code S. The finals can arrive instantly as long as I win a couple of matches. My goal is to grab the championship, but I plan to think about attempting it as I take on each match that is ahead of me.
