I think it's more that WCS always seems to come when she's coming back from a long break and is out of practice. That was certainly true the last two seasons, as well as season 3 last year. If WCS America Challenger/Ro32 were starting right now, with Scarlett's current shape, I'd pick her as the favorite to win the whole thing.

I wasn't at any of the 2013 events, so I can't speak to those. The hall MLG used at the convention center this year (B) was much smaller than the one used in '12 (D), and D was packed to the gills almost the whole time in 2012 when SC2 was the clear "big game" folks were coming to spectate for. At that time, despite the 2,500-3,000 seats that had allegedly been allocated for the SC2 stage, there were still hundreds of folks (possibly 1,000+ for the first KeSPA matches) standing/sitting on the floor, stretching well back into the open bracket area. After Anaheim 2012, MLG released numbers putting the *3-day* attendance at "over 20,000" for an average of 6,600+ per day. I would put peak attendance this year at 2-3000/day (maybe), with CoD having the most spectators. There's obviously a lot that goes into spectator numbers at an event, and 2012 was very special in that regard with the KeSPA invitational, the HotS beta, and one of the most stacked lineups in history, but this year was still a bit of a letdown in my eyes, especially with the numbers we've seen in the past. That's true, there certainly were a lot of empty seats throughout the weekend, and I was a little disappointed given the hype we had leading up to it. I can see MLG doing SC2 in the future, maybe with smaller prize pools, but I agree that we're probably never going to have the circuit-type events all year long like we had in 2012.

1) Scarlett will not play in IEM Shenzhen. She couldn't play in the NA qualifiers since it took place in the middle of the night in Europe, so she opted out to focus on Dreamhack. 2) Scarlett will also not play in Redbull Atlanta. She's already won RedBull NA Battlegrounds, so it makes little sense for her to come all the way to Atlanta to play in an open bracket (she's said so herself). I'm also not sure tournament organizers allow that. 3) Re Korea -- Canadian citizens are allowed to stay in Korea on a tourist visa for 6 months. Assuming she's not on a work visa, Scarlett moved to Korea in late March, so September would be around when she'd have to leave. She could get it extended for another 90 days, but it sounds like she'll just head back to Canada indefinitely come August. 4) Canadian internet is pretty bad, and in my experience playing on the NA server can be hard enough, much less the Korean server. Scarlett also lives in Ontario, on the Eastern side, so I assume the ping would be even worse. As for upcoming tournaments, she's committed to playing in Redbull finals in September, and also ATC finals (assuming Acer makes it past the RO4). It's also safe to assume she'll be playing in WCS Season 3 (keep in mind that she'll have to re-qualify into NA, so keep a lookout for her there), and Blizzcon if she qualifies. Other than that, who knows what Scarlett has up her sleeve? Anyone, feel free to correct me if I've gotten any of this wrong. :D

Edit: looks there is a open bracket for iem so that is why I was wondering if Scarlett was thinking on maybe trying to attend. It seemed like she wanted to with trying to play in the America qualifier. Now again she could just be tired and decide that resting is the best thing.
