GO SCARLETTAs much as I'm a huge Scarlett fan I do not believe this to be true. Scarlett and Naniwa are looking miles ahead of the others but there are players showing snatches of brilliance who could catch up if they ever fix consistency problems. While Scarlett is awesome she is not out there alone as the undisputed best foreigner; there is still room to reasonably argue that to be the case but there is also room for other arguments to be made.

Kane almost knocked her out of Red Bull qualifiers, so I'll be interested to see how he does after his time in Europe. But I certainly do think Scarlett and Naniwa are the best foreigners in a best of 5, best of 7 scenario.

What mark Nani and Scar out is that they have established a record of consistently taking maps and matches. This puts them in a different category. I hope we will see some of the other foreigners join them. But right now, they are it.

Odd losses here and there really don't mean anything in a game as volatile as Starcraft 2, you have to look performance over a longer period of time. Frozean beat Jaedong in BW, it didn't mean anything other than that JD had a bad day. Someone beating a top player once does not mean they are comparable to him/her, consistency is what counts. If we are going to be objective and look at overall performance through HotS, there is Scarlett, Naniwa and then everyone else. Also, I believe you are thinking of Vibe, not Kane.

I do mean Kane, but I can't remember exactly if it was in the Red Bull qualifiers or the IEM Singapore qualifiers. It was in the online bracket qualifiers. He had a huge muta lead, but then engaged over spore crawlers, so she got a bit of a lucky win, eventually beating him 2-1.

I wonder if he knows that she runs his TL fan club? :D Edited to add this recent Elfi interview where he mentions his group: http://claritygaming.com/interview-with-ence-elfi/ Going into ASUS ROG NorthCon, you have been placed into Group D alongside jjakji, Scarlett and LucifroN. Scarlett has been absolutely on fire recently showing some outstanding play at both Red Bull Battlegrounds and IEM Singapore. How much preparation were you able to do specifically for your group, and who are you most concerned about playing? How confident are you in your ability to advance? I m quite happy with my group having 2 foreigners there is better than having life+innovation but of course it wont be easy scarlett has been strong she did quite well in the Red Bull against Korean Protoss and well PvZ is my weakest mu probably. Its hard to say which I fear more jjakji or scarlett. I’ve been practising a lot last weeks and found new ways to play so I m semi confident in myself but I would probably still only give 30% to advance .

Groups update -- if she finishes 1st in her group, she'll play Stardust in the QF. If she finishes 2nd, she'll play against JD for a rematch of WCS America Season 2. :D
