It may be because Blizzard isn't happy with the Korean exodus and is going to region lock WCS, and is making GSL reset everything so those who come back from EU and NA can try to requalilfy. It's been said like thousand times: Bomber forfeited bracket stage, not his whole spot. What exactly is your point?
He forfeited a chance to qualify directly for Code S, if it still really exists that is. Now he has to play up-and-downs, you think these guys like doing that?
How many interviews have we seen, where players have called the up-and-downs a nightmare they never want to go through again?

More info is coming out. It turns out the reason Shuttle retired is because he learned he can't play in WCS outside Korea in 2014. This means all the players who left, from Mvp to MC to Nestea to Taeja will be returning to Korean WCS.
I wonder what they'll do to the system to accommodate all those players coming back. It's clear Code A is not giving Code S seeds this season. Maybe they'll dump everyone returning from EU and NA along with all the Code A players into the up and downs and call it a day?

Should probably just throw everyone into a giant bracket but I'm unsure whether or not GOM/OGN would agree to that

That would be totally sick, actually - but double the price pool and fuck WCS

He's got his ticket to blizzcon. He's one of the best terrans in the world right now, and of those terrans one of the best tvters (although basically all the top terrans going to blizzcon are sick at tvt so bomber's tvt doesn't quite "stick out of the crowd" if you will). Why waste your wrist stamina to practice and play for a chance to get into code s next season, therefore deteriorating your wrists more for the $100,000 tournament in the immediate future.
not to mention he's just straight up got more build secrecy by not playing really at all before blizzcon.
edit: hahaha actually just looking at the point standings again, and holy shit what a nightmare gauntlet of excellent tvt players to face against. bomber taeja polt mma maru and mvp Christ lol inno is never going to win that, poor guy

Stardust forfeits IEM New York which means Life can now cruise through his bracket.

He still has to go through zergs to even reach the group stage.

Yeah the ZvZs are the real problem... Sigh... His ZvZ used to be so good, and the funny thing is, the metagame now is not that much different from back then when he was the best.

His ZvZ was the best when he was the only one who could pull off 2 base muta perfectly. Now that all the timings are different and there are answers to it, he has to play roach-based ZvZ more often (which he is obviously worse at).

You know that profile picture still gets me, lol. It's so...weird.
Hope he does well.I have no fear that he will lose to Sasquatch. Beyond the inherent coinflip ZvZ is a game of execution and that's something Life has always been good at.

Cheesed his way through Sasquatch 2-0! He has a hard group with TLO, Zest and HyuN but I think he can advance!
