He didn't advance from the Up&Downs and is now out of the running for the Global Finals unless he wins next season's Season Finals, which is somewhat unlikely considering where he is right now =/

He's young. His interest is bound to go up and down - it's natural for all teenagers. He needs to be given more time. He's the most talented SC2 player I know - I'm confident he can sort out whatever issues he has with himself or the game and if we see in months from now that he's still struggling, I make advocate a switch. But not this year, at least. He's too good for that, and I think he knows it too.
lets be real for a moment, each and every zerg hero is dead this wcs season, they have atrocious winrates in both matchups and most importantly gameplay wise hots brought very little new "cool" stuff to do
life is no exception as each and every zerg has a rough time with hots especially in regards to just enjoying to play and i cant blame them. the first drg stream was named "lets break my mental in hots by zerg" which is pretty fitting for what playing zerg feels like up until this point. having to play ling bane muta vs all new terran toys, swarmhost turtle to match protoss lategame and a zvz that has not in any way improved since wol can be quite downing. obviously some parts are exaggerating but the whole hots beta saw a lack of attention to zerg possibly because zerg in the meantime was too strong at the end of wol.
also blizzard hasnt even aknowledged in any way that they are unhappy with how zerg gameplay looks like in hots so there is no hope on the horizon
hopefully something changes soon or some new zerg hero shows new ways to bring back the fun, watching all my heroes die has made me not log into sc2 for weeks and this is the first time ever in all of sc2s lifetime (am high master form season 1 to now)
i really miss watching life in the booth joking and laughing in high pressure situations, nowadays he just doesnt seem to enjoy the game anymore

The biggest problem with zerg at the moment is that in the early game, the race plays exactly the same in all matchups like it did in WoL while the other two races play wildly different. None of the changes to zerg in HotS has affected our openings or approaches to the early game.

I think you mentioned a few good points many people forget. Life lost, yes, but I don't really think he looks worse than the other Top Zerg. I just tried to count the win% of the Matchups in all three Premier Leagues - and with a below 30% winrate for the Zerg in ZvT (20:8 series), he is definitely not alone with his problems right now. I'd even say his ZvT is way above average, his ZvP looks quite strong as well compared to most other Zerg - only his ZvZ is not as good as it should be.
The Zerg matchups seem like an uphill battle from the very beginning, where you got a small timing window of about 4-5 minutes where you're really able to do anything. Before and afterwards it's either a painful death against Bio/Mine or you got to play SH/Viper against Toss or you're dying. It just sucks to play like this and especially for a player like Life that's probably the worst case scenario.
I wouldn't exaggerate the "slump" life is in, he just struggles as EVERY other zerg (including RorO, Soulkey and Symbol) and all of them just keep losing right now. Lets see if a single Zerg makes it to the season finals - beside Jaedong the chances aren't insanely good, imo. And the amound of Protoss in Europe/USA doesn't really increase JD's chances.
btw: shouldn't be a balance whine, maybe it's just the Zerg being unable to figure out how to play against this stuff. But right now playing Zerg and watching Zerg playing is really frustrating.
He didn't advance from the Up&Downs and is now out of the running for the Global Finals unless he wins next season's Season Finals, which is somewhat unlikely considering his current form =/
It's also somewhat unlikely considering It's impossible for him to qualify for it

I forget Up&Downs = Season 3 but the OSL = Season 2 TT. Nonetheless, he most likely wouldn't have made it even given the chance
I can't say for sure, but it seems like he hasn't practiced as much as he used to. He has the mechanics and the mind-numbing skills, he just has to put in the time. I have faith that he'll be back

How could he win next season's Season Finals if he's not even qualified, TO QUALITY for it? :D

Any idea about when Life will show up next? Oh, and I wonder if startale will join kespa with the recent changes and the likelihood of LGIM and one other esf team joining proleague for LoL.

Life's next game is in Challenger League Ro48.
One of his most important games ever. Dropping out of Code A isserious shit and it might, just might - I don't pretend to know what he's thinking, kill his motivation if it's lacking right now.
I'm afraid to even watch it. I get so depressed when he loses badly that I've quit watching SC2 altogether in the last couple of months. The way he lost last season in Code A was just...
