If someone could get a screencap or gif of that smirk I would be very appreciative.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=173395 KeSPA ranked MVP 39th and fOrGG was ranked 22nd in June 2010. fOrGG was better than MVP in Broodwar, making him the highest ranked Broodwar to switch to SC2 since MVP was the previous highest ranked Broodwar player to switch. oGsFin is going to win Code S next season.

Man, sometimes I wonder if people like this actually knew BW =.=. Kespa rankings are really bad for judging players skill levels in their current form (right when forgg switched). Better to look at his ELO really.

That's nice but all I could find in the TL search was a bunch of KeSPA Rankings threads so that's what I used to compare them. If you can find their relative ELOs in 2010, go ahead.

MVP had better "results" towards the end, but it's not like MVP was playing against insane caliber players all the time. And yes, forgg DID beat some of the best players in the world in his MSL win, and those players are still the best today. Nobody else in sc2 has really done that. Definitely A team material towards the end, but not top 20.

If you can find their relative ELOs in 2010, go ahead. I wish I hadn't overlooked looking up fOrGG's Elo when he retired. For reference's sake Hyun, an A team zerg who recently made the switch retired at Kespa rank 31 but his Elo is at rank 63. Given fOrGG's form at the time of his retirement I'd say he would have had an Elo rank somewhere around the 30's, maybe low-mid 40's. MVP retired at Kespa rank 45 but that was near his peak so his Elo would have been right round that range also. No question about it in my mind though that fOrGG even at his worst was comparable to MVP's best. The only question is whether MVP's sudden improvement was a sign of things to come and if he would have continued improving had he not switched to SC2. It isn't out of the realm of possibility (see: Jaehoon, KiLLeR)
