Makes me sad how ridicoulously little recognition SaSe get's for his performances.........

He deserves so much more fans and support in this fanclub. Only the hardcore SaSe fans showing him support :/

And the god damn OP is permanently banned........ someone new should take over his fanclub.

To a certain degree I agree with you. SaSe went 11-6 in the Open Bracket and managed to get Top12. He and HuK were the Foreigners that did absolutely the best.

I don't think he is perma-banned, "Only" for 90 days- http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=32696&currentpage=1122#22437.

Nontheless, this is at least 30 more days with no update to the OP and we don't know for sure when he's coming back so until he's back and promises to not get banned again someone should take over this Fan Club. I think there's some guy here called Waterflow that should do the job pretty good .

I'll have to think about it.

Im not good at making graphical stuff and i can be a bit lazy sometime so ^^ but maybe!

Another interview with SaSe from Rakaka (In Swedish):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3TzoUAm974

I was so pumped to see a long Sase interview and then I realized it was in swedish.

Question 1: How is it living in the Startale house?
SaSe: It's very nice and everyone is really nice and they take care of me so im very happy to live there.

Question 2: Who is your favourite Startale player to hang with?
SaSe: I don't know. Everyone is really nice. If you see me here at the event you will see that i hang out with all of them so i cannot choose one of them so if i have to choose i choose all of them.

Question 3: July is an old Broodwar legend, is he like the king of the Startale house gliding around with his underlings and talks.
SaSe: He is really nice to me and NaNiwa and everyone else and the other ones show alot of respect to him and i think he deserves that respect.
Interviewer: I think so too. He's a big man a real king.

Question 4: You have lived in China. Can you tell when you went to China, where did you live what did you do etc.
SaSe: Must of been 2006 i moved to China. I lived there 3 years. But it wasn't the same as living with a Starcraft team because in China i lived by myself but it was still better to practice in China than in Sweden at that time.

Question 5: What did you do other than playing in China? Did you hang out with any big players or what did you do?
SaSe: It was almost like now but now it's more serious. Back then you just played and went out sometime but now it's much more serious then when i was in China.

Question 6: What is the difference between living and practicing alone compared to living with a team and what do you think is best?
SaSe: I guess it's that you won't be bothered by anyone else when you live alone but it's more fun living with a team because you never get lonely and it's fun all the time you work together and stuff like that.

Question 7: You live with NaNiwa how is it living with him?
SaSe: He's not that difficult of a person like i think the most people think he is. He's a nice human being if you look inside him. *laughs* from SaSe and interviewer.

Question 8: Can he be a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes and how is NaNiwa when he's not that nice of a human being?
SaSe: I think it's as you said that we all have or ups and downs. Ofcourse you could be a happy person all the time but i think that this is not the case for most people. But it's not just NaNiwa there's alot of other people who get's angry about little things.

Question 9: Party alot?
SaSe: No. Maybe 1 time every 2 weeks not that much.

Question 10: Who's the most popular among the girls?
SaSe: NaNiwa because he has dyed his hair blond XD

Question 11: You also thinking about dying your hair blond?
SaSe: No. Maybe brown or orange or something like that.

Question 12: You have actually played some Starcraft 2 in China aswell. You played in G-League. How does Starcraft 2 feel in China is it big or is it crap were anybody there to check it out, how was it?
SaSe: No it's not big at all if you compare......... Warcraft is still bigger than Starcraft in China and LoL and dota is really really big if you compare with both Warcraft and Starcraft. Sky told me that before Sky was the most famous eSport gamer in China but now he said that he is almost nothing compare to the biggest names in dota and LoL players so.

Question 13: Do you think Starcraft will make it's mark in China sometime?
SaSe: No because it costs money to play Starcraft 2 and the chinese will not pay for it. XD

Question 14: So you think then that dota or lol or something like that will be the biggest games in China in the future?
SaSe: It's allready big and i think it will only get bigger because it's so easy to play and it doesn't cost anything so.

Question 15: They played dota on G-League right?
SaSe: Yeah i think it was dota........ i believe so.

Question 16: Was it alot of audience there that was watching dota or?
SaSe: All matches was in a studio all the way until the final so until then it wasn't any audience.

Question 17: Is GSL still your goal? Is getting into GSL and winning it the only thing that matters to you or what is your goal?
SaSe: Hmmmm..... it's hard to answer i just wanna get as good as i possibly can and we'll see how long that get's me but GSL is the hardest tournament to win so i guess it's there that you want to do your absolute best performance. But i think it's hard to play in the GSL studio because the booths aren't that good for me or it's the monitors that are weird it just feels totally wrong sitting there playing. (SaSe has said in earlier interviews that he thinks the GSL booths are a bit too small and he i know for a fact SaSe is very picky with how comfortable the tables are and stuff like that. With the monitors i guess he means how they are set up or something like that. Sometimes he doesn't formulate himself all to well but you know atleast he knows decent english).

Question 18: Recently you played in MLG Winter Arena, how was it there? Did you get treated like a king or how did it feel to be there?
SaSe: Do you mean Winter Arena or Championship?
Interviewer: Arena.
SaSe: Ah ok....... that was almost 2 months ago. You didn't get treated like a king but they took good care of you i think and you got food....... or.......... ehm breakfast.......... you got a bagel and an orange juice...... but later you got food at the event and they paid for the hotel and they picked you up at the airport and paid the taxi to the event so it was completely fine.

Question 19: Do you think that more tournament organisers should do like MLG and pay the players hotel, flight and so on?
SaSe: Yes *giggle* i think so.

Question 20: You managed to get to MLG Winter Championship because of some koreans that couldn't come. What did you think of that tournament and how was it?
SaSe: I think MLG is good at organising tournaments. They stick to the schedule and are on time and the admins aren't retarded. You can talk to them and i think it's important that you can do that without them being too strict. Also the tables were good and the computer were good and yeah a good event really.

Question 21: What tournaments have bad admins?
SaSe: Ehm... Dreamhack *giggle*.

Question 22: So why do you think Dreamhacks admins are bad?
SaSe: They give some players special treatment and they try to be strict with the rules but some players can do what they wish while others can not. It's unfair to put it simply. But it's not just Dreamhack that has bad.......?....... there's others aswell but i cannot remember them right now.

Question 23: So you think admins should be stricter or should they be more open with the rules or just that it should be equal for all?
SaSe: A little bit more open and knowledable. (I can't decipher what SaSe says after that because he stumbles on his words really badly at one moment wich messes up the whole answer so no point in translating just a part of the answer). But after that he says that if you have group play you should do as GSL because all matches you play there matters so eighter if you win or lose it has an effect but if you have it like everyone meets everyone then your tournament life will be effected even if you don't play (because of other players results that effects you). That sucks and every tournament should stop with that. (I know what SaSe means. It's like throwing a dice you don't really have any control of the situation).

Question 24: You have been pretty much in the Usa lately. You were at the Red Bull LAN did you get to train alot and did you learn alot from it?
SaSe: I thought it would be really boring but i think i learned a little bit about the match-up against zerg because i almost only played against zerg. It was okay and it was a relaxing vacation and they took good care of you...... RedBull did that. We got to drive some go-cart it was really fun.

Question 25: Did you compete in go-cart?
SaSe: Yes but there was Halo players there aswell so it wasn't as funny as it could of been because it would of been funnier if all the SC2 players raced instead but it was only me, Ret, NaNiwa and Sheth that had the balls to race. Everyone else chickened out.

Question 26: Who was the best SC2 racer?
SaSe: Me or Ret i don't remember but it was only 4 people racing. ThorZaIN, illusion and HasuObs didn't have the guts.
Interviewer: Whimps.
SaSe: Yeah.

Question 27: We talked abit yesterday when you played and you got eliminated by PartinG but you beat for example Golden, Heart, SeleCT but a big thing you were talking about was that it was alot of problems with the computers. Do you want to talk abit more about that?
SaSe: First and foremost they have some sort of fabric thingy on the tables so that it will look pretty but it's like an edge on it so there's like a bump on the edge (SaSe hand-demonstration) so it's like a pain in the ass to move the mouse. You could remove it if you wanted but they didn't help you with it so it was like really frustrating so i just let it be. And the computers lagged in late-game and especially against zerg because it takes so much computer power for creep. When i met SeleCT he had to change computer 3 times and i think during the whole tournament the computers crashed for me 3 times aswell. It was a bit of a pain in the ass with re-games and such.

Question 28: Does it effect the motivation when things like that happen?
SaSe: Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh... when half of the day had gone it felt like i just didn't care anymore but it might of helped me mentally because i played pretty ok afterall.

Question 29: You are going to Dreamhack Open back in Sweden soon how does that feel?
SaSe: Very fun to play in Sweden again.

Question 30: Will you be staying in Sweden for a while?
SaSe: No im going back to Korea instantly afterwards im gonna stay there and practice until Dreamhack Summer and if there's any tournaments close by i'll take 2 weeks off and then go back to Korea again.

Interviewer: Thanks for the interview and is there any final words you want to say?
SaSe: I want to thank Quantic my team, all the swedish fans out there and i would like to thank Asus aswell who will send us to Dreamhack Open.

Interviewer: Thank you very much!

And that's the end of the interview. Enjoy!

Awesome thanks! I also agree with you guys. Although it changed a bit since he went to Korea and did well in MLG Orlando a player of SaSe's calibre deserves way more recognition
I think the reason is that he hasn't won a tournament with many live viewers yet like MLG, IPL etc. but his play just seems so crisp and good that I can't imagine that he's not gonna win a huge tournament this year. He's also a practice beast so in the long run I think he will do much better than many other players.

He can't be top12 if he didn't even make pools

I may have been a bit unclear but I was referring to Top12 in the Open Bracket.

Thanks alot for the translation waterflow!
I think one of the other reasons he doesnt get much recognition is because he was rather late to the scene in the sense of going to live tourneys, if he went to alot of the earlier ones where there werent nearly as many koreans he would be on everyones radar. We can even look at all his recent tournments and see how he always places among the top foreigner and is one of the only foreigners to consistently take out koreans. Just a matter of time until we see a breakout tournament

yea you are probably right. about a year ago he was still practicing a lot on the European ladder. then he won the road to code a tourney and went to Korea... SaSe had not as many opportunities to prove himself compared to other top players, in the tournaments he entered he did extremely well.

SaSe has such consistently good Pvt and can take out even Code S caliber players in that matchup, and his PvP is pretty good as well. He'll definitely get into Code A at some stage given the level he has shown, although he probably would like to avoid PvZ

I hate how Sase is so infrequently mentioned in the 'best foreigner' discussions. He doesn't attend that many tournaments but he always does respectably, and takes down top Koreans with regularity. Though he doesn't play all that often he's on Startale's GSTL lineup so he's obviously held in high regard by those guys.

I saw that someone had compiled links to all the IPL4 vods on reddit and found SaSe vs Golden. I haven't seen it yet, but I thought I'd link it for those who missed it and would like to see it. I don't think any other of SaSe's games were aired?

VOD: http://www.twitch.tv/ignproleague2/b/314183589?t=2h15m10s

Also, I found some pictures of SaSe on rakaka's flickr. So, for the non-rakaka readers:

Yeah, I think he's pretty good friends with Byun for sure, do you recall when they played a marathon series of practice games over and over on his stream one day?

ye I remember that :D shortly after he went to Korea many korean pros started to notice him because he did so well on ladder... I was impressed myself how well he did lol I mean he was crushing European ladder easy with like 75-80% winratio, back then he was one of the best players on ladder and the best Protoss I think but Korean ladder is a whole different story. still he did soo well there. Man I want to see SaSe streaming hardcore ladder sessions again :D

Yeah I do miss those sessions, tried to steal a lot off him but not being SaSe wasn't too successful! I am saddened by the lack of him and Nani streaming, but equally they must be practicing hardcore in-house so hopefully we'll get to see some strong games off those two soon!

Very nice to see an interview with SaSe talking swedish. Really love how calm and relaxed he is. He seems to be that kind of person you'd always like to keep around to create/maintain a solid stable environment. Much respect!
