Not exactly Polt's best run in an online tournament, losing pretty badly to Nerchio when he is capable of beating him, and losing 3-0 against MKP in some weird base-trade/proxy games.

Khaldor just explained - Polt has a match against Maru soon and he did not want to show MKP his serious gameplay (because MKP and Maru are teammates). Sounds completely reasonable.

Hmmm, seems like a reasonable excuse to play pretty bad :p
Though I guess Polt didn't want to play drawn out TvTs to waste time, so just decided to proxy to have some fun.

If the series is just pure proxying, I will seriously think that Prime and TSL set it up deliberately.

Game 1 - Polt marauder proxies. His first marauder kills Maru's first marine, but his cover is blown, waits for his second marauder and more rax. Maru walls off in time, goes for cloaked banshee, and Polt's all-in with SCV's, marauders and marines can't kill everything fast enough as Maru shows good banshee micro.

Game 2 - Maru goes for a hellion drop in Polt's base. It is undetected, but Polt holds it well and then does a counter attack with bio while Maru only has a bunker with a few hellions. Polt rolls over the bunker, kills 20 SCV's and finally gets cleared out after Maru gets his tank production going. Polt has a huge lead from that point on and eventually ends things with a doom drop in Maru's main

Game 3 - Polt stops the cloak banshee opening of Maru, but falls behind when Maru double expands right after failing. Polt continues to fight back with good defensive play and the two get into a marine-tank/marine-tank battle. Polt was behind 40 or so marines at one point, but was able to snipe Maru's 4th and gain an economy advantage along with positioning. Maru tried everything he could to break out of the soft contain, but Polt continued to be aggressive. Eventually Maru went for one good last ditch effort against Polt's split forces, but Polt was able to get a good drop in Maru's main and kill everything coming up the ramp.

Polt wins 2-1 and moves onto face Shine/Ace for a Code S seed. Game 1 is a weird game, Game 2 is just Polt gaining an early advantage and getting more ahead until closing things, and Game 3 is one of the best TvT's of the year.
