I think what Stephano said is disgusting and wrong and shitty. And I think he should be punished. But I don't think you guys need to punish the entire sc2 community for what one person said. There are ways to fuck over Stephano for what he said without fucking over esports, and emailing sponsors isn't one of them. You undermine your moral highground when you do try to punish a community of several hundred thousand for the actions of one. Please reconsider. The top response was an image macro that read "You're trying to get someone fired because they're a child rapist! I implore you to reconsider!" Other people who replied to this comment expressed butthurt over the idea that /r/starcraft could 'defend pedophiles', completely neglecting the fact that Stephano's comment on stream was a joke and by abused he probably meant "beat in a game" anyway. Worse, one of the moderators (Dworkin) bans this guy for making a perfectly reasonable comment. Even worse than that, a guy suggests a highly upvoted opinion to just straight up ban anybody from SRS that posts in /r/Starcraft. Yes, SRS even practices the idea of using a ban-bot to autoban people who post in subreddits they don't like. | ||

There should be a counterweight, every time there is a drama. People should send emails to sponsors and tell them how glad they are, that they sponsor that and that player and they should continue to do so. | ||

Razers point of view is probably very similar to most big sponsors, so to think they will disassociate themselves so easily without knowing that the people emailing them could be from an outside source(SRS) is extremely frustrating. Hope EGs sponsors are smart enough to realise where the hate is coming from. | ||
