Was Idra at his peak as successful as Stephano?

Never you can take the top 10 foreigners and combine all there best results and they still wouldn't reach Stephano achievements. He just keep winning tournament after tournament!

Idra's peak compared to the top-players was probably during the wol-beta anyway...but that's another fan club.

Stephano has been more consistent. Idra was really good though and might be again, but I think there is a lot more competition now. More money available to be won too. Having them both on the same team might help Idra because he is less of the focus of attention and expectation. You never know.

A bit an exaggeration maybe?

If you look at just 2012, it's less of an exaggeration.

Oh stop it already with EG curse.

Point is, the guy doesn't even need much practice, he is talent. No matter how much he will joke in EG house, it won't matter. He is talented, and he won't lose skill like some players in house..

End of story please.
one day.. i'll lose my mind

I wonder if Stephano will ever try to actually compete in a top Korean Tournament like GSL or OSL.

why?

look what happened to naniwa, huk and even jinro when he stayed in korea for months and slowly fell out of code A. The competition is so fierce and chance of winning lower in GSL than the many many other foreign tournaments that go on around the world.

sure giving it a shot or 2 might be worth it .....but staying in korea for months to play against the caliber of players like MvP , Seed, and squirtle on their home turf is like smashing your pro gaming career into a brick wall. Also in the coming months with the Kespa players creeping into code S its only to get harder and harder. I think it suits stephanos style much better to rack up the wins in the foreign scene and maintain his exposure in winning form.

In the foreign scene he stands apart... like a foot taller than everyone else. Why give that up to go to korea and put his nose to the grindstone to try stand out among DOZENS of progamers with equal or better skill...it just seems folly.

Yea, but Stephano surdenly isn't Naniwa,Huk or Jinro. I do hope he go soon and he did say he would go as soon he had a break from the big tournaments. So yea I'm sure he will play GSL someday

Don't get me wrong it would be great to see a foreigner winning a GSL or OSL. I don't think that's happened since when? Grrrrr?

It just takes a lot of time and practice to prepare for your opponents with the drawn out style of tournament they run(weeks, months even) I think the foreign style of just slamming out 30 games in a weekend is better for him , allows him to just abuse his raw talent for the game. Also like I said the skill gap between stephano and other foreigners is very visible whereas he is much closer with the players in code S.

Stephano can actually do pretty well at gsl , and the format even fit his playstyle since he is really good at improvising , and don't giving a shit about pressure . But it just don't worth his time , yet . I think maybe he will goni there is no other major tournament to win ...!

I think Stephano would do very well in GSL.

The problem is GSL seasons are quite long and it takes a lot of dedicated time staying in Korea to compete in GSL, and I don't think he wants to stay for 3+ months to play GSL. But who knows.

It's too bad he never got to play GSTL while he was still on millenium.
