hihihihihi everyone! First of all, no, this is not a fanclub for an emotion. But it IS, however, a fanclub for a beastly player! So to all I present: The Empire.Happy fanclub!
Happy was a great Undead player in WC3. He was on teams such as Mousesports and MYM

my #1 ud war3 player, and i use to follow war3 much more then bw...damn i really hope this guy makes it big, his mouse sensitivity is to that of a FPS player, and his micro is impeccable.
sign me up!!! he is so good, just needs more experience, because he started playing not long ago and shows such a good results Can't wait to see him on a big tournament playing with top europeans.
Wow, I didn't even know he is so young. And his english is much much better then other russian-speaking progamers, if you look up for his interviews on the youtube... Amazing WC3 player and a beast of a terran right now... I assume I don't need to join any fanclub to discuss a player... Don't like being counted, so don't count me! :D
sign ) started playing with him in wc3 ) +imho he have 100% best tvz in the world and one of the best tvt if he will not be in top3 wcg and dreamhack i'll be very surprised ТАЩИ НА КРЕАТИВЕ И БЕШЕНОМ МИКРО :D

Really suspicious that they have the same exact reply.. considering the second account only has one post
it's the most popular mem in sc2 ru/ua community right now, and it's about happy himself :D when u translate this to english, sounds kinda like this phrase
That micro from Happy isn't all that surprising, having been a huge fan of his from wc3. His micro was likely the best there was, he was a total beast. Very impressive.
wtf @ that happy marine micro video? thats sick as shit, i wonder if he still uses same mouse sensitivity as in wc3? his micro has obviously been transfered over to sc2
In a game where the race Happy played was considered the worst and hopeless against Orc, this guy managed to defeat legends on the scale of Grubby, sign me up!
Hey OP! Don't forget that Happy was on team EG for WC3 also! A 2v2 teammate of Grubby's as well iirc.

He didn't just "manage to defeat them," he was held in the same regard as the top WC3 players! He was a third place finisher at WCG at least once, and defeated other top pros countless times!
EDIT: One third place finish and one fourth place finish at WCG as it turns out!
This thread will blow up in a few weeks when he starts performing in major tournaments. He's going to be the best Terran outside of Korea before too long, imo (he already has probably the best marine micro outside of Korea, just needs to brush up on a few areas of his game).
On May 25 2011 04:24 Klonere wrote: Just lost out to TLO in an insane series on the Dailymotion Cup. Sad to see him lose but gg's all around, especially the one on Shak.
Yeah lol, good series. TLO must have been sick of the long games
happy has the best mariner controls atm imo, I play him alot in TvT and like also splitting up against tanks he does just really well making a good arc and moving some marines forward to avoid splash on the marines and so on.
I don't know why there is no coverage of this event on TL. But Empire.Happy right now playing at "ASUS Spring 2011" in Kiev (SC2 prize pool: $2500, other known players: Brat_OK, Dimaga, Lowely, Kas, Strelok). He is in semifinals now playing against Virus.Bly

Looks like he won his group 3-0, then beat Kas 2-0 and is now owning Bly in the semis, with the winner of Dimaga vs Lowely waiting for him in the final.
I know this is a Happy fanclub but what's up with Dimaga? He hasn't shown very much presence lately and now just rolls through this Eastern European elite tournament?
On May 29 2011 03:43 Titorelli wrote: I know this is a Happy fanclub but what's up with Dimaga? He hasn't shown very much presence lately and now just rolls through this Eastern European elite tournament?
he has problems with protoss, but there were not any of them on asus. His group was 4 zergs, and in ro8 was Strelok, then in semi he played with Lowely.
Happy's group was : slivko,LiveZerg and Bly. ro8 he played Kas 2-0,in semi Bly 2-0.
Good effort from Happy, zerg players are winning so many tournaments lately in europe so I guess no surprise he didn't win, but a good showing all the same.
I'm a massive fan, want to see him in more and more tournaments. He's quickly catching SeleCT as my favourite terran to watch, that micro is unbelievable, don't think anyone outside Korea can match it, and hardly any inside it either!
On May 29 2011 03:44 juksan wrote: Happy for Empire.Happy ^^ Dimaga's best match-up is ZvT,so no shame.First lan and 2 place.Great Job.Also if you know russian,listen to interviews.
Thanks man! Great Interview, some genuine humbleness by Happy there as well as really interesting stuff. Really a great guy!
On May 29 2011 05:26 Zowon wrote: Can someone translate the interview ? =)
They just talked about his fresh SC2 career and why he chose Terran: He says, they seemed very versitile to him having flying buildings, good flying units, scans -he said he LOVED scan- and he doesn't like Zerg due to their macro heavy and economic style where micro is not that important. He than said that he doesn't understand the game very well and that he doesn't consider himself to be extraordinarily good. His TvT really sucks according to him - which is lol cause he beat up Kas the TvT beast quite brutally. He was just very very genuinely humble throughout the entire interview. Those are the things that I remembered, so if I forgot smth. it wasn't important or I was distracted by the CL final :D They also talked a bit about the tourney itself (asus).
I am in. I have only seen about 10 or so Happy games but I am thoroughly impressed. People talk about his micro, and while it is amazing, his macro is outstanding as well! Go Happy!
B: Good day everyone it's me, Bruce, it's ASUS tournament and here we have Dmitriy Kostin aka Happy. Hey Happy! H: Hey! B: Glad to see you in this tournament, tell us when was the last time you took part in the ASUS tournament. H: It's actually the first time I'm here. B: Didn't they invite you at least once? You've been a great Undead player since 2006, didnt't you get any invites? H: Nope. B: Why is that? H: Well, at the time when WC3 was popular and was featured in this tounament, I wasn't really taking gaming seriously, just playing for myself, so even though I had plans to do so, they never came to life. B: You started to attend a lot of foreign tournaments back in the day, maybe this affected it? H: It's more like WC3 got less popular here so it wasn't worth spending the whole day here for the unimpressive prize pool. B: Well that was up to you. Ok, so you switched to Starcraft and there was an interview on Goodgame.ru, in which you told us that you were not really sure if you were going to play it, and will see how it goes, and then in a week you became a top European player, so tell us how that happened. H: Oh it wasn't a week, and it's just a top spot on the ladder, what does it change, it's not as hard as it may seem. B: Well that means you're on a certain level of play and you understand something about the game, actually more than a lot of other people. H: Well maybe. Still I think I lack understanding of the game right now and I need to play at least half a year more to be on a stable level of play, maybe not of a top level player, but at least of a good one. I really think something is missing in my play, I've no idea what, though. B: Ok so you played undead in WC3 and all the UD were complaining about balance, about some Orcs or something, like they were stronger... H: Like? No they actually were stronger. B: Ok ok. So why did you choose Terran, not the Zerg, you played Zerg in the beta, didn't you? H: I played Toss in the beta. For like 3 weeks. B: But then you were the Zerg? H: No, I've never played Zerg. Not even once, not even in a custom game. B: Because they are much like Undead and you think they suck? H: No, it's just that I think Zerg is definitely a macro race and micro is not that that important for them, they have to spawn larvae, spread the creep, build up the economy, so I decided I don't want to play them, due to them being so macro-oriented. And Terran is something in between. I think the Protoss are limited in their options, they have stong units and they can just build a powerful army off 20 gates late-game but Terrans have Mules, Scans, they can lift buildings, they have a variety of strategies to choose from. B: So you chose them based on the fact that they are diverse in strats? H: Not only that, but...I hate being dropped, I always got upset in the beta when I got dropped so I chose Terran. The only time you can get dropped is TvT. Zerg is rarely going for drops and Protoss can go for it in the early stages of the game with the warp prism or later to harass but I don't think it's that effective anyway. Also the scans. It's very important for me. Maybe someone noticed that - I scan a lot and it's crucial for me to see every single movement of my opponent's army to be able to get in the best position possible. Reminds me of shades in Warcraft - you could see everything you want on the map. B: So I was talking to you on the phone the other day and you told me you were not going to participate in any tournaments and in a week you signed a contract with the Empire team and started participating. H: Oh actually it was a month. B: Well anyways - you told me you're going to wait for half a year more before you start participating. H: I wasn't really sure - just had no plans and actually even now - I came here without any expectations - just trying to do my best. Same goes for Dreamhack and what comes after that - no idea. B: How's that so? H: In WC3 I knew that I will attend a certain ammount of tournaments during the year and show some consistent performance but with SC2 - I still do not know. As I have said already - there are a lot of aspects of the game that I do not understand yet, so I'll just keep playing and we'll see what comes out of it. B: How would you keep track on your progress without actually attending tournaments? H: I will attend them - it's just that I don't have any plans yet. B: You got a contract with a team - you'll have to attend. H: I will not go into details on that contract but I should say that the terms of it are rather lax and everything I do is just my initiative. B: So you play if you want to - you don't if you don't want to? H: Something like that. Nobody is forcing me to do it, I do what I want. B: What about WCG? Do you have anything planned about that or you have no idea what you're gonna attend after Dreamhack? H: Yeah, well, if I get invited to some major tournament, I will certainly try to go, and about WCG - I will try to do my best and even if don't get a quota - I'll try to show some good performance, although I can just go for WC3 qualifiers - I'll probably be okay with a month of practice, but I think I'll most likely participate in the SC2 qualifier, as I'm pretty much done with WC3 since I couldn't make it to Blizzcon.
(Then goes the banter about the tournament, like his predictions on who will win, but as we already know that, I will not translate it)
The OP seriously needs a new pic of Happy, he looks terrible in the one that's being used atm. I think that these ones serves this thread's purpose much better!

Ty for the pics, I added them to the OP. I also updated the results to the newest ones on TLPD.
Btw, I watched that marine micro video like 500 times already xD Still good!
Sign me up. Looking forward to see him take 1st at DH, now that MKP aint coming ;P j/k, Happy is sooo good, looking forward to seeing him in big events!
Today is the day of the HAPPY!! im looking forward to watching his games and advancing through the group. which by the looks of it should be able to, being as bomber is the only real threat to happy

sorry but it's not going to happen today , happy is out. He lost to Bomber, mana and haypro. They're good players but considering his ladder result and cup result I guess he is disapointed by his run
Was it just me, or were some others a bit disappointed in Happy's showing at Dreamhack? I guess ladder dominance doesn't translate that well in predictions for Pro Tourneys.

Well, people were expecting him to just dominate everyone lol. He did pretty well overall, nothing to be ashamed of.
I want Jinro ofc to win most, but right after that I want Happy to win. His play with marines and tanks is just amazing. I love his straightforward playstyle. Dunno anything abaut his personality but he seems like a mellow kid:D. GL and hope you can win it!
This guys is such a ladder beast. Hes already at #1 EU again with more than 100 points ahead of the other ladder beast Kas. I hope his hard work pays off and he owns everyone at HSC. Go Happy!
On July 07 2012 08:00 Lukeeze[zR] wrote: love his commentaries
Yeah, He is the pleasant surprise of this HSC so far (for me). During the opening day some players said they're rather surprised Happy went to HSC as they don't think this style of event fits his personality.
But I got to say he provided great and funny commentary, especially with Dimaga
And still some time left to own more nerds today - gogo!
SIGN ME THE HELL UP! My absolute favourite European Undead player back in days and still one of my favourite players to this date.
And for WC3 fans who havn't yet seen it, one of the best Warcraft 3 video montages ever made, featuring Happy back in his ol' days. Known as the Micro King even back then:+ Show Spoiler +
And for people who havn't played Wc3 but still want to appreciate the awesomeness of this video. The big units who are the focus of the video are what's called heroes, and it's extremely important to keep those alive. More often than not, if you lost your best hero (Highest level) somewhere between early to mid game you were bound to lose the game. Happy is the guy playing Undead in the video, th race with the spider-looking things and the flying dragon stuff. There are a LOT of subtile things shown in this video which wont be obvious if you havn't played WC3 before but to a veteran like me this video almost brings me to tears. It's truly one of the most beautiful scenery I've ever watched, and I've probably watched it over 50 times. This to me is art...pure and simple.

This is like third hand information, but I read a post of someone saying that Kas said that Happy had started practicing again. Take it with a grain of salt, but Empire Terrans have a bunch of smurfs anyway, so it doesn't mean much if he hasn't played on his main account.
Such an underrated player, I hope one day he will sucess in one big tournament considering he has always been a top LADDER eu since forever. So GLAD he finally stream, looking forward for the next ones GO happy on WCS !
Hello to whoever is visiting this thread. I will be streaming again this Friday, 3rd of May at 16:00 CET. You're welcome to join - http://en.twitch.tv/empirehappy
Such a strong and talented player. If he had been more unpredictable/had more builds up his sleeves he could easily be the best foreigner, and could easily compete with the Koreans as well, because his mechanics are as far as I'm concerned uncontested in the foreign scene.
"I can not say i enjoy Starcraft 2, it's my job i have to do". Taken out of context, but when he compares to wc3 he doesn't enjoy sc2 quite as much. Saw news
Sick base race on Belshir dude. When I saw Stardust's army I thought you were dead for sure. Way to hang in there and earn yourself another battle. Keep fighting!
The series against HyuN was very close, amazing splits, drops etc. Happy is in a very good shape lately. Played extremely well in this HS Cup, hope it's close to his first big tourney win! Can't wait to his next stream btw.
I love Happy. I hope, he makes one big run in WCS though past Ro16. He is sympathic (and i usually don't like russians very often). So i don't know what this "Sign me up" means (sorry, i am new), but i guess i should do that here, since i like him.
Any news on the guy? Last time I heard from him was his post on twitlong about Macro Mechanics. Is he playing LOTV or moved on? If he has moved on, what game he plays now?
Happy top 1 CIS, vanquishes everyone with his creative and insane micro! Follow the scene, do not talk nonsence!
Happy's dominating the scene atm, crushing every foreigner on his way! He is not going to stop, Happy's just getting started! WCS Challenger is just the triumph beginning! Any resistance is futile! Imperator punishes everyone who dares withstand him! Ave!
Really sad day, Happy was one of the few foreigners to not copy Korean meta and actually innovate with his own builds. He remained one of the best until the end.
Retire from professional gaming and stream for money. He said he isnt going to play for results. From this time he follow the wishes of his donators and viesers who want hism to play tournaments. But he doesn`t play off stream and practise as a real progammer.
