http://ru.twitch.tv/sc2tv_ru/b/453798840 I'll will update the parts of the interview as soon as they are ready. As always, all credits go to Sc2tv.ru and I provide the translation (as close as possible) just because to this point nobody has done it. ALFPrimeProject: Let's start with the transition from BW to SC2. ST_Bomber: The main reason of transition was that my team disbanded, I automatically came to SC2 scene. I wasn't able to show good results during BW days, because I wasn't working that hard. Actually I was practicing poorly. ALFPrimeProject: While you was on eSTRO you had to know Fruitdealer and TricKster. And later in SC2 they became your teammates again. Do you have any stories about them? Did you anticipate that Fruitdealer, who had shown only average results in BW, would take GSL? ST_Bomber: At the biginning of SC2 everyone in Korea had equal chances to win GSL. Well, the one who was the luckiest, who trained hard and made every effort, won the tournament. Looking at Fruitdealer I felt that with the proper endeavour I could take it too. ALFPrimeProject: In foreign community you were and you are known as the most hard-working pro in StarTale. You stepped into the scene in the autumn 2010, when ZOTAC Team Invitational and U GOSU Invitational were held. But you was not able to break into GSL untill May 2011. Why? Was that a psychological reason? Or you were just not good enough (and you were considered as one of the best in Korea)? ST_Bomber: I started in September 2010. I was in GSL in April 2011. 7-8 months. I don't think it was a long period. It was a normal time for me. ALFPrimeProject: Let's talk about the birth of Bomber's Law. Let's sort out the reasons. Code A championship, a win over MVP, great start in Code S and then... the game vs MVP_Keen... 2 seasons...Vexing losses against Keen and Bbyong. Why? Every fan of yours is still asking this question... What prevented you from winning? ST_Bomber: I was so dissapointed at that moment. I didn't understand what had happened. I kept telling myself that I would get better results the next season, but got knocked out in the Ro16. And so on... ALFPrimeProject: About success outside Korea. While you was lounging about between Code S and Code A, you have shown impressive results at foreign tournaments. Won the MLG, took part in GamesCom in 2012 and RedBull Battle Grounds. Is it easier for you to play at foreign tournaments? How well do you handle long flights? Famous jet lags? Does the support of fans help? You had worse results in Korea than outside against the same opponents! ST_Bomber: I don't know the reason too. I can't explain that, but at foreign tournaments I usually have better mood, better moral condition, better fighting spirit. Even better preparation. I can't explain that. ALFPrimeProject: Meantime, the situation in Korea was bad. 2 questions about the period of the end of WoL. Do you think the shift in the balance from Terran (in 2011) to Zerg (in 2012) was in the way of your success? It seemed your TvP was pretty good. Secondly, what helped you to move on, keep practicing after all these losses? ST_Bomber: I see three reasons. First, after failures in GSL 2011 my skill level stagnated (sic!). It was my fault. Second, I got unlucky: I had problems with TvZ and I was getting only Zergs. Third, at the end of 2011 I participated in many foreign tournaments, didn't have enough time for practicing. It led to the worst results in GSL. After that I focuse on Korea and try to limit travelling time. ALFPrimeProject: About motivation. The situation looked grim: 24-years old progamer starts all over again... What helped you? Maybe there is a girl... ST_Bomber: 1) I had enough confidence, I believed into myself. I was a champion once, I knew I could win again with proper training. 2) The fan support helped very much! ALFPrimeProject: You nuked your own army, killed your own Orbital against Roro, your own bunker in RSL. What is it? Nerves? Uncomfortable set up of keyboard? You have an unofficial status of the main misclicker in SC! ST_Bomber: (laughs and nods) All that happend in TvZ matches. In TvP it never happened. Nerves... ALFPrimeProject: 2 seasons of WCS and you were in the play-offs both times. What changed with HoTS. Suddenly, noone can reach your level in TvT. ST_Bomber: Since the very begginig of this years my skill level has been growing. Then HoTS came out. This game is for me! I kept practicing. Results from there. About TvT: I can't find the reasons, actually, I lose a lot of TvT during practicing. ALFPrimeProject: To the WCS Season 2 Finals! One year ago you was at GamesCom, was in the group with Grubby, won against him 2-0 and lost to a Zerg (Violet) in the Ro8. Did ou remember it going into tha match with Scarlett? From my point of view, only Scarlett and Rain could stop you. What would you do, if you were playing vs Rain in semis? ST_Bomber: I thought that about Scarlett too. She was very dangerous. I wasn't sure I could win that match. My weak TvZ vs her strong ZvT... I won by the skin of my teeth. After that win I realized I could win it all. In OSL I wasn't able to show my best game vs Rain. That's my fault. I wish I'll play with him in the future. But I was concerned about him. He definitely #2. Thanks Taeja for knocking him out! ALFPrimeProject: Do you consider yourself as the best SC2 player in the world right know? What does this title mean to you? Do you want to ultimately disappoint your fans and just leave the pro scene, relax for a year and go to the military service? Do you have any plans? ST_Bomber: I am very confident right now. Everything is fine, super! But SC2 has no effusive player who would dominant the scene for a very long time. I have two work even harder to stay where I am. I'm planning to play SC2 competitively at least till the end of 2014. ALFPrimeProject: Express questions! Why "Bomber"? Where did this nickname came from? ST_Bomber: With the transition to SC2 I wanted the nickname which would have aggressive meaning and reflect my own play style. At first I picked a korean nickname which meant the not "the bomb" but the "bomber" - the plane... ALFPrimeProject: Why are you so popular among foreign fans? ST_Bomber: During my foreign tournaments I showed good entertaining games. ALFPrimeProject: When will be your next parachute jump? Or something else extreme? ST_Bomber: In November at RedBull Battle Grounds. I don't know yet what it will be, but they are planning something crazy. Those guys from RedBull are the best! ALFPrimeProject: Who is your greatest rival? Best friend in SC2? ST_Bomber: Don't know if I can call following pros my rivals, but there is something between us. Zerg: DRG (I win against him at foreign tournaments, but lose in Korea): P: MC; T: MVP. My best friend is Squirtle. We were friands back in StarTale, we are friends now, sometimes practicing together. ALFPrimeProject: Last question. Any impressions of Ritmix RSL? You made quite a journey with us: playing the very first season, at 2 am from korea with huge ping on Euroserver! OMG! Recently had StarTale finals in season 5. Do you want to continue playing in RSL? ST_Bomber: RSL is very nice on-line tournament with great line-up! I can play it from my teamhouse, it is very comfortable. I will take part in it again with great pleasure, if there is no overlapping. ALFPrimeProject: Any final words? ST_Bomber: Big thanks to my fans and sponsors, I'll try to keep up with your support. I also hope to take part in a tournament that is held in Russia or CIS. I want to visit it! + Show Spoiler + This is my first experience in translating. Please, PM me with any suggestions, corrections or any other feadback! | ||
