It's a refreshing break from names like "THE LEGEND KILLER", and "THE GOD OF WAR". I don't know why people hate it, really. Game genie suits him so well. I mean look at the guy, he always seems so joyful. I couldn't really see myself calling him the "ANNIHILATOR" or something like that. Besides, game genie terran still implies a skilled player. Mule terran doesn't really. =P

I need more so I can become a genie too ![]() Try learning from VODs, it's very fun and challenging ![]() It's a sick replay though. That build the Butterfly guy does is nuts. I've seen him do the same thing to oGsTOP in a different replay.

I heard about IMMvp first when he "won the GSL" early this year, and he looked unbeatable. Then I heard he was losing games, like some sort of major form slump. Now I hear he is the "World Champion". Is "World Champion" somehow different to "winning the GSL"? And then why is he still in Code A and not Code S if he is obviously this good? Finally, I haven't seen anyone talking about how great a "comeback" this is. From what I heard about his recent poor performance, this fits that description does it not? If you can answer these I'd be grateful. I would also be grateful for a link to some sort of information on SC2 tournaments - there seem to be so many and I don't know what they all mean.

As for why players slump, no clue. Happens to everyone. Bisu, a very famous Protoss player in Brood War, made a name for himself by 3-0ing Savior in the finals of a major tournament, at that time thought to be unbeatable in general, but especially in ZvP which was thought to be imbalanced at the time. He was speculated to be the next "best player", but didn't quite achieve that kind of dominance and then ended up slumping for an entire year before he came back as an amazing player once again. My point here is just that anyone can slump and it can be a while before they recover. My answer to your question about tournaments: The World Championship is a special side event of the GSL. It is hosted by GomTV and casted by Tasteless and Artosis, who also cast GSL. It features the top 8 players in GSL(determined by a point system) and 8 of the best non-Koreans, determined through a preliminary tournament. MVP won it and he played very well, but it's not 100% certain that he's completely back. This coming GSL will be the first GSL since he dropped to code A and it will be his time to prove himself. It looks like he has a relatively easy bracket so lucky for us MVP fans. There are a lot of tournaments right now. If you don't know what one is, the major ones tend to appear on Liquipedia, which you can find the link to near the top of the page. I suggest you check there any time you have a question, but here are the main ones: GSL - the major Korean tournament. Casted by Tasteless and Artosis, except Code A, for which the casters are somewhat in question. Right now it looks like Doa and Moletrap will be casting it but that's not set in stone as anything more than temporary. GomTV also broadcasts GSL side events such as GSTL and the World Championship. You're best off looking these up as they come, but they have been truly awesome so far. GSL is still considered by most to be the most prestigious tournament to win. Dreamhack - A pretty big Swedish tournament last December, but with this little 16 man invitational that just happened today, looks like its tournaments later this year will be some of the most anticipated. MLG - Major League Gaming. A big US tournament. Hosts multiple games, such as Halo and Call of Duty. Regular casters include Day9, DJ Wheat, and JP Mcdaniel. NASL - Brand new tournament based out of North America. It's mostly online(except for the ro16 onward) but it features games monday through friday on its stream, which can be found at nasl.tv. Casted by Incontrol and Gretorp. Today was its first day so it's a little rough around the edges but it has a TON of games. TSL - Team Liquid's own online tournament featuring gamers from all over the world. Has a history in Brood War and features casters such as Day9, Husky, DJ Wheat, and Chill. IGN Pro League - hasn't started just yet. The first season will be a pretty low-key tournament featuring only NA players and a $5000 prize pool but it seems to be mostly a test run for future tournaments if things go well, so keep an eye out. There's LOOOOTS of other very worthy tournaments out there so check out the SC2 Tournaments section regularly to see what's coming up.
