Everyone's favorite German BW player is now present in the Sc2 community. Mondragon!

Hello guys,
If you are interested in asking questions to Mondragon, use this link. He'll answer to anything you want if your questions are picked by the player himself:
Here are a few words by Mondi: Hey, when Dimi told me about his plan of publishing some kind of special interview where users were able to address questions directly to me I was quite excited about this. I know and I am very happy that I have many supporters and fans that keep following me and supporting me each tournament I participate in. That is why I think this idea of YOU being able to ask me things you always wanted to know is a great thing. After time has passed I will pick the most interesting questions and the answers will be published after a short time, though of course I will try to answer as many questions as possible. Happy asking!
Remember that all the questions must be asked on MYM through the new. All questions that will be asked here or another forum will not be taken into consideration.
Oh finally someones realize that you should create a Mondi fanclub! Well, count me in because basically I have been the silent leader of it within the last 4-5 years anyway.
I hope to see more of him in more tourneys. I apreciate his "i dont care about your air harrasment, i'm just going to crush your base" style. Count me in.
Oh my gooooood Mondragon! What an incredible outskillage he delivered there, sick sick sick! Wanna see moooooore of him Wanna know if this was just because his opponent might be a level lower or if Mondi might have the potential to change the way Zerg is beeing played for all of SC2...

Dude what a badass! I've never seen Zerg play in Starcraft 2 like that! Thoughs games vs Zeerax in the TSL were a stroke of genius! He did'nt even react to Zeeraxs air units, just made a few spore crawlers and got that overlord drop and attack upgrades and went in there with roaches and completely destroyed him, convincingly! That swarm mentality just gave me goosebumps, and after Idra lost today against Cruncher, I now feel so much better knowing that Mondragon brings a completely unique playstyle to Zerg, very inspiring. Lets hope he can keep up his badass playstyle!
i even always "friendflamed" mondi for saying "meh i am so inactive and enemy so good he will win 2-1 or 2-0 and then mondragon raped the guy 2-0" seems sc2 is no differnece xD

count me in, im his fan since hmm 10 years xD? if im proud of someone in the german starcraft scene, than its mondragon! ah and to prove that im not a new fan, i know that mondi often offraced as protoss, even in important matches (in broodwar obv xD)
Sign me up.. Been watching his stuff since BW, wcg, ASL (i think? that tournament that still hasn't finished LOL) Huge fan haha, started watching him before i even new about TL even :D
I also want that 'long time fan' behind my name :D
Been a fan since years, ran around him on wcg like a little girl and cheered for him in every single tournament since 2006! Gogo Mondragon vs Nony rematch in TSL3!
i knew he was good, but i didnt know he was THAT good. what a cold-blooded macro-monster, building units faster than the opponent can kill them. for the swarm! sign me in!
i am mondragon fan since 1999 ? there was not even replays out and he was 11 i think
ps: i am Drake
hm i meet him on a toilet in colonge ... oh wait that could be missunderstanding ... on wcg ^^
LoL that gets me really nostalgic. Cloud with his cookiemonster t-shirt . God i want to see more of Mondragon in SC 2 . Also would like if testie came back bat ;/ probably not going to happen.
Really does remind me of BW. I remember games in TSL 2 where he went lurker tech against mech and everyone was like wtf? He ended up making it work somehow, lol.
I played him a few times in Brood War. Awesome manner and awesome player. I hope he has some great success in SC2 as well even though he might not be playing as much due to his studies.

Those that survived no longer possess their sanities and now reside in various mental institutions. Sometimes for amusement, he takes a human form and walks around among us. Do not let your guard down though, since he once ripped out someone's throat for asking what race he was (something that he is rather sensitive about).
Incidentally, he is also extremely good at StarCraft and favored to win the TSL.

Dissy had barely lived a day when he was abandoned to live the cruel, outside world by himself. As he grew older, he began to wonder who his family was and embarked on a journey to find out. Creating an idealized image of his father as a chauvinist fighting for Aiur, Dissy lived every day of his life to be reunited with his true father. However as he learned more and more about his origin, he became more and more angry. His depiction of his father was the complete opposite of what he had imagined. In a rage quit on life, Dissy turned crazy and vowed to murder anyone to cross his path. He soon became known as the infamous Mondragon, which lends it's name today not only to the popular series "Pokemon", but also dragons in general. Mondragon was a vicious, heartless zerg serial killer, and victims came to him like maphackers to proxy gates. At the peak of his onslaught, Mondragon forged a ring. In this one ring he put all of his power, and soon he was DOMINATING and UNSTOPPABLE often drawing comments of disgust such as "HOLY SHIT". One day, a righteous knight by the name of nevake came to him. "I don't care if they say you're 1/3rd Korean, you shall not pass!" And with that Mondragon was stopped in his path, or so everyone thought. Recently many suspect the Brood War Player "Christoph Semke" that plays under the game name "Mondragon" to be the former serial killer. Christoph certainly fits the part in his unmerciful slaughter of the "TSL", and if so, continues to plague society with his iniquity and can not be stopped anytime soon.
haha so many lurking Mondi fans start to unburrow! =) You should know to never underestimate Mondragon anyway, so why did you burrow in the first place? Zerg habit, I guess.

Well that was just a matter of time, hehe. Sign me up^^ He was the reason I started watching bw soo many ago and I will probably never cheer for anyone as do for Mondi. He's awesomeperiod!
Have to say this guy really impresses me. Doing a lot of things different to everyone else and has a great approach to the day9 mantra 'Just go fucking kill him'. Sign me up.
I'm in :D Love Mondragon, he showed up in a 2v2 in the BW days and played with me and a friend (obviously killed us even if he played T). Sorry if we kicked you at first, you scared us too much :D Very nice guy

I'm putting this here because when this does become true,I can say I told you so.
For those of you who wanna see him practices for TSL:

One of their games was a really intense match on Metalopolis. As I know ToD for some years now he sent me the replay and Mondragon agreed on me casting it in english (thank you very much once again!).
I hope you guy's enjoy the video and the match itself and judge for yourself if Mondragon is fit to face Cruncher on sunday in the TSL
PS: one or two parts of the video may take some minutes to show up in 720p. I have to leave for the airport now as I'll be at the Gadget Show in Birmingham this weekend but didn't want to leave without posting this game. Sorry for the inconvenience, as soon as YouTube processed the videos everything should be fine.
Ok, so you're the only surviving zerg in TSL now... You got to beat cruncher! Know that the hearts of the whole zerg population is with you! You're our last hope. Go murder that mofo.
Watching Mondragon vs Cruncher just made me realize, Mondragon = genius. Really, one of the smartest players in the scene. Up there with Boxer. He's one of that players that keeps doing this little smart decisions all the time here and there. Always winning some small micro battle or simple positioning decisions here and there that makes you notice how he's always outsmarting the other guy.
Boxer and Mondi are the two guys I notice these little things on their play the most. Just all the time they make it clear out smarter they are then everyone else. Always love to watch these 2 playing. No matter what strat their using, or if they win or lose. There's always these little smart decisions in their game that put a smile in my face
I know you probably won't read this, but your match in TSL3 had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. Please continue to play and entertain! Amazing style, and an incredible player.
Mondi played extremely well in that series against cruncher (except maybe for the cannon-rush game). I think he had a clear advantage in the mid-game in all games. Alas, that was not enough :/
Kennigit says (4:57 PM): you did well ^^ . Everyone on twitter was cheering for you
Mondragon says (4:58 PM): nah after the games vs cruncher i found out how to play XD
Kennigit says (4:58 PM): hahah
Mondragon says (4:58 PM): wouldnt have lost now! ^^ roaches + infestors only are the key to everything Mondragon says (4:58 PM): found out too late taht infestors are the key ! Kennigit says (4:59 PM): protoss death ball is -_-
Mondragon says (5:00 PM): yes protoss deathball isnt tough anymore if you make 10 infestors ^^ either infestors + roaches only
Kennigit says (5:00 PM): haha
Mondragon says (5:00 PM): or just broodlords only + infestors only both are fine but i found out 3 days too late
Kennigit says (5:00 PM): ahh ;;; oh well, next time ^^

King of manner indeed <3
Thanks SmoKim! :D That gives me a big relief, because that was all I was thinking about: where are the frickin infestoooors... Good to know that he now knows...hehe...see you next time Mondi ;D
Super awesome style. What makes me most sad about his loss is that he will probably play a lot less now, certainly less intensive, without a TSL match to train for . I feel that if he had kept winning, he would have had a chance to become one of the best . Sad day for sc2, back to the less cerebral ladder styles.
Mondi - you are by far my favorite player of all time. How composed and well mannered you were, while playing your own style at a high level... you are just awesome! Don't ever stop being awesome now good sir
[edit] I am of course talking about his match vs cruncher in TSL 3[/e]
Too bad. The cannon rush was just cheap(good reaction would have been 1 base roach or baenling bust imho).
Shakuras plateau is known for being imba with 3 easy bases for toss(they changed it in the newer version) Game 4 was a good thought, going for mutlipronged attacks with mutas. But I am convinced that mutas are just not viable in long games. There was a timing window when Cruncher had very few phoenixes but he waited for later.
Imho roach counterattacks just didn´t work in game 2 because of map, not because cruncher found a way to beat it. He didn´t change anything really in games 1, 2 and 4.
Just makes me sad to see him outsmart his opponent and then lose.
Some really nice games in TSL! Loved the agressive style with lots of dropping, burrow, spread out attacks... just great I hope he attends some more tourneys in the future!
Dissy will participate in his third team league(SGL and SCL already) with Crota's team tourney against EG, Mouz and Fnatic, where he is gonna play against IdrA, MaNa and TT1 + have 2v2 with ClouD
I really thought about making this fan club myself, but I knew I wouldn't be able to bring this level of OP into it! Loved him since his GIGA tournament wins! Also anyone who hasn't read his user/question answers neeeeds to do it now

Holy shit, being a mondi fan since bw it's awe inspiring watching him fp view. Anyone else saw his 25 min+ zvz just a moment ago on Shattered Temple? Anyway, sign me in!
Is one of my favorite players of all time still playing any SCII? Im glad beyond everything that Ret still plays, it would be dream come true if Mondi would play seriously also!
Was such a beast in BW. Also he used to play pub UMS a year or so back, played some fun games and talked with him. Couldn't quite get the f/ add though
Hey guys, I thought this might fit in this thread nicely as well I've decided to C/P this Mondi out of his Livestream thread!
