Eh, I didn't take Fionn's statement as an anti-MMA statement. I think it might be true that MMA's success was due hugely to Ryu's strategies. That said, he still needed the talent to execute them and to improvise within the game (mechanics, micro, etc.)
BUT, what we're seeing from MMA today is not just bad strategies, it's a complete lack in all areas, it just looks like didn't practice for a really long time, which he's admitted to. If he gets his mechanics back up to par, good strategies will come. He has Cella to work with, too.
Anyway the real reason I'm posting here is to say I really enjoyed all the post-Iron Squid content.
Not many terrans are doing that good against zerg, perhaps just the metagame, or maybe not. MMA will make a come back, I am sure of it.
I am curious to see what Cella is doing for MMA, when they were in Slayers I didn't see much from Cella, but more from Ryu. Maybe because Cella had to help everyone, while Ryu focused on MMA primarily.
MMA has been one of my favorite players ever since I began watching sc2 and he is assuredly my #1 favorite. Never really thought to join the fanclub but now I will!! fighting~

Starcraft went a long way from when MMA used amazing play to shit all over Stephano face in IPL 3, ah the infestor, the guy doesn't even want to go to the lategame anymore, he just keeps 2 raxing cause of it... boring.
I felt MMA's anger of the game by the way he played. I hope this doesn't discourage him. Keep your head up MMA, and wait till heart of the swarm I guess.

I think Ryu leaving, and the Slayers drama has truly removed all the passion from MMA. I honestly can't see him ever becoming the player he was before again.

He must have meant IPL4, where MMA was nuking Stephano on Metropolis, as well as spamming sensor towers.

the axiom/acer partnership is good news for mma, i'm glad to see him at a teamhouse again. i wasn't terribly enthusiastic about him joining acer, but things are working out. i hope 2013 is a better year for him. i wouldn't count mma out until he retires.
