A humble, talented, and hardworking Starcraft 2 player has been toiling far too long in the shadows. Today, we put an end to this anonymity.
The HayprO Fanclub
An Introduction HayprO is a member of the powerhouse Team Liquid. The team has many well known players who have a knack for the showy flair. Thus, there have been times when HayprO has been overshadowed. Unfortunately, this has led to some parts of the community to question his talent and skill level.
Do not underestimate him. HayprO has as much talent and skill as his teammates. For a couple of months, he has been training in Korea for the GSL, so he hasn't been able to showcase his talents in too many tournaments. In the tournaments that he has participated, he has shown concrete results.
If you like how HayprO plays the game, if you support him, if you're a fan of his character, if appreciate his impeccable skills and talents, then join the fanclub!

I have him slated to tear TSL 3 apart, as he only has ZvT for the first few rounds and I do believe he is quite good at it, given a reasonable map pool. Haypro fighting!
I was gonna make one of these after watching his performances i nthe PAX tourney. I had completely underestimated him but his performances, especialy in the final were so solid.
Tyler game 4 in the PAX East showmatch was epic. I do not know how he helt the first push with the 4 colossus + void, phoenix while being behind in supply.

Exactly, i loved his playstyle in BW, very macro heavy and it was such a beautiful sight seeing him run people over with his macro.
It's a shame he's had such an insanely bad luck with the draws in the last couple of tournaments.
Was just watching a replay of HayprO and he is soooo good at like the zerg basics, 14 minutes into a game and his main hatch queen had 10 extra energy and the entire map is spread with creep..
Nice interview with Hayder from MLG. This guy is so polite and gentle! Hot_Bid: "Do you get angry when you lose?" Hayder: "No, i dont get angry, i get sad"
ooooooooohhhh! You just want to give him a big friendly hug for that one!
He is such a skilled player, but he isn't really showing results...is it possible that he maybe has nerve problems when playing tourneys? I wish him good luck and hope that he will start owning like he did in old days...HAYPRO FIGHTING!!!
I hate to see a player with so much potential not perform. As MC said in his interview that he needs to practice more. With such a calm attitude and a korean practicing regime he should be performing much better, especially in the NASL. I hope you find that spark again. Hapyro fighting!
as one of your fans here on TeamLiquid, I'm really sad to see you lose so much in the last weeks in NASL and yesterday in the WCG - Sweden - Qualifiers. It is a mystery to me and probably to many other of your fans, why you are so awsome at your stream (for example) or in your earlier tournament-appereances, but fail at the moment. Is it your mindset? Really I cant say that you lost to opponents that are better in terms of skill. You ARE good in SC2, besides being a nice guy. But you looked so tired and sas in the housetour-vid from Sweden! But as a fan, there is only one true thing we need to talk about here, if you read this post or someone tell you about it: What can I, as a fan, do to help you out?? I dont want to offer you good advice, because you have many good adivsors in your team and in your housemates. I cant offer you training, because you are an awsome player and have many good trainingpartners and coaches all around. So what can I, as a fan, do to help you out? One thing for sure: continue to cheer for you, continue to believe that you will deliver and beat the hell out of your next opponents! But I'm really open for suggestions! Dear Hayder, what can we do more? Dear Fans, what can we do more to help out?

You still have to win 2 more Dreamhacks to be on par with Haypro.
Yes and it is amazing, I have never heard him speak this much before. He realy has great game knowledge. Thanks Haypro. The TL guys casting together now have such good chemistry, you can tell they get along very well.
I feel so sad for HayprO. He is such a nice and calm guy and a funny commentator as well if he's down with the right people. He seems to practice a lot, too. And although his results have been devastating lately he seems to be super patient and never lets himself down. Every tournament I see him participating I'm secretly rooting for him. I hope he gets some of the fame and results he deserves.
Edit: I hadn't read haypro's posting by the time I posted mine. I'm someone who always roots for the underdog but after reading this I'm seriously crying right now.

He didn't say that. It was HuK joking around. HuK's trolling made you cry.
It was funny to observe the reactions of people on IRC when Haypro was casting. First came the wave of mindless haters but then gradually a bunch of people noticing that he was doing a really good job. Nice to see him finally get some appreciation.
Hey Haypro, how are you doing man? Long time fan club member here Really impressed by your analytics at HSC III, were really top notch. I remember an interview with you and tlo still in korea, where there was the discussion about how important minerals vs gas is in the zerg early game. And you got mocked by tlo and ret for laying more weight on minerals early. Seems that you have foreseen the spanishiwa style. Now i hope you step up a little more in the future, it's time to add some "killer instinct" in your overall pretty good game.

What........ That is almost an insult dude.. Haypro is top 3 AT LEAST right now.. Best of luck man, show them what you are all about.
I feel like I have to adress this issue to u, dear Haypro, in name of all your fans. Could you, please, add some more songs to you otherwise near perfect playlist?
Sign me up for his fanclub please!, Btw that picture MorroW is just hilarious!:D I am so jealous of u guys living in a freaking progamer house in sweden! stuff like that makes me more motivated to try to go pro!
Haypro has oGsNada in his group for Assembly Summer. Last time they played was during NASL where he won 2-0 easily so I'm pretty excited to watch it even though his current ZvP is more impressive in my opinion. ^.^ (banelings drops)
I don't know if it's the right place to say that but his biography on TLPro seems pretty outdated, it stops at his trip in korea and doesn't mention his return in europe and afterward.
I just made a fanclub-banner for each liquid player after i did one for HerO and Talin liked it.
For HayprO i had several ideas. At first i thought about an overlord with a zergling and a baneling dancing on top of it, but it looked kinda silly. Then I thought about an overlord which spreeded creep onto the font, since whenever i see him play, it feels like he turns the map purple within 2 minutes. Then i realize i suck at creating creep with Paint Shop Pro, and that's when i went for a speedling. I can still remember the anecdote iNcontroL told when he was playing vs. HayprO with Scoots behind him and he struggled with HayprO's Ling/Bling style and was feeling embarassed about it ^_^. Please sign me up!

Best taste of music? This is a joke, isn't it?^^ His livestream music is a reiterating playlist of about 10 supersuperstupid and supersuperboring mainstream popsongs -_- but he indeed IS a very talented player! =)
I've been waiting for months now to hear Tasteless make the following joke: "[...] is the Charlie Sheen of Starcraft, as winning is what this guy does", maybe it can be Haypro?
LOL I think I've got hooked up to HayprO's music! Although I remember this one time when he had like 5 songs max on his playlist and it just kept repeating the same songs for hours lol....
But his stream is fantastic and is extremely underrated, just like the player himself unfortunately.
Underrated? I think unfortunatelly as much as we like Haypro and Team Liquid, perception that he's not such a good player is factual with very low winratio compared to most other top level players :/
Does anyone know where HayprO is these days? I thought I read somewhere that the lease for the Swedish pro house ended in September so I'm guessing he's going somewhere else? Haven't seen him stream for a while....
so sad that he had to play against alive in the first round, after tearing through the open bracket he got paired up against the ace of one of the best teams in korea :<.
leaving the TL office tomorrow to fly to Orlando together HerO. I feel in pretty good shape. It will be needed since this tournament will be the hardest outside of Korea. Good luck to me and my team mates and friends in other teams! see you there.
Rock on Haypro. i really think that you are due for a great showing. You really are another under rated player in my book. The games in the NASL were great but in my mind just classic Haypro. You can do it man.
haypro 2-1 in series 2-0ing both tlo and drewbie, exellent start for our lovely hayder, if he keeps this up he should be able to place atleast 2nd in group, hwaiting<3
gogo Haypro, it'd be cool to see you in Code S!! GL in MLG and other tournaments and I hope that whole TL and StarCraft community in general, is supporting you! :D Oh, I'd forgewt - sign me up please
Great showing this weekend by haypro, cant wait for him to finish this up and perhaps go to korea to prepare for the 2012 season! It really shows you that consistency pays off, go get them at providence hayder!
I dont understand how he doesnt have better results really. Everyone say he practices hard and is really good player, maybe he get nervous or something. Great performance this MLG, really glad to see it.

he's always been doing well, just not AMAZING. With Idra and marineking tying for first, Haypro got second \o/
Haypro currently 2-1 in ESWC, which puts him at 2nd place in his group with 2 games left tomorrow against "lesser players", looking like he is going to take a spot in the playoffs!
HAY FUCKING PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL THE FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATS HAPPENING HERE??? GRATZ HAYPRO THE MOST SLEPT ON PROGAMER YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Gz (who do I root for now...Naniwa or Haypro... if you guys meet in the finals that would be the coolest finals EVER!) Holding thumbs for you!
I'm a member of many alternative starcraft communities, and while I may not follow SC2 much, I am very glad for your victory. We channeled our power into your soul, and now your true form has been unleashed
Haypro for MLG 2011. You've got this brudda, you're going to win.
I have a feeling this fanclub is about to explode. Liquid sure knows how to pick its players, bout time Haypro got show his stuff. He did fantastic last MLG as well but it was sort of outshined by his kind of embarassing defeat by mass hellions from MKP.

This times a million. Haven't cheered that hard in a long time. Congrats, well played, and good luck to you sir.
I feel sorry for the people who doupted the Banjo, repent! Haybro showing THE best games of the tournament, against best players in the world. The Banjo is unleashed! You are not prepared!
Haypro is a beast. I've always had a good feeling about this guy. To beat Nestea and nearly take out MVP among the other greats he faced. He deserves a lot of respect. You rock Haypro
When Haypro destroyed the first mech push he had the game won (which is almost impossible for even the best zergs and against one of the best terran it is a dream). He only lost because mules exist ( MVP had 35-40 SCV for the of rest of the game.), and in my opinion he is the best preforming foreigner at the MLG Providence, even if naniwa or huk win. Haypro's play was amazing!
Great tournament Haypro, soo close to defeating MVP, the best Terran, in the world too. I have huge respect that you didn't listen to the haters and just kept going on. The true strength will always reveal itself. Fighting!!! ~~
Attaboy HayprO! You just showed all of the SC2 community that you are NOT the weakest member to Team Liquid. You took out the world's best Zerg player and almost took out the world's best Terran player. Way to go mate! We all love you. Keep up the awesome work!
Sick run from haypro! Cant wait to rewatch the games between him and Nestea. True TL fans just knew it was a matter of time before a breakout tournament comes out from haypro and this was an awesome tournament to do so. GGs!
brilliant run. all the naysayers who said you didn't belong in the group play at prior mlgs are eating their words now. too bad you didn't get that last game against mvp, but awesome games nonetheless.
You the man HayprO! Solid finish at such a fierce tournament; I expect to be seeing you as a huge force next year! Use thissssss! Let's gooooo! HayprO Fighting!!!!
I must say...i thought u were a good player...not high tier, but this tournament holy crap!!!! Ur potential REALLY showed...sign me up for this badass MFer!!!! Keep practicing :D i want to see u win MLG next time...against Hero of course :D
I have always loved HayprO's play-style, especially his ZvT, and it was really pleasing to see him preform so well even in other match-ups, especially considering the opponents. HayprO's preformance was, I felt, the high-light of the entire tournament, so thanks, congratulations on 7th place, and keep going!

the problem is when there's double standards. the difference is that, now that haypro won 3 games people use this to proof his a good player, when inca reaches the GSL final he "just had luck" "his opponents were playing like shit" and so on.

No. Inca only played PvP, which was his best match up, where in comparison Haypro took out Illusion, Select, Kiwikaki and the person who butchered Inca and the best ZvZ player in the world Nestea. That is quantifiably a good run but if you also watch Haypro games, like the ones against MVP, you can qualitatively say he is a better player than before.

That's called cheering for a team in a sport. Get used to it. Supporters are supposed to be biased, if they aren't, they obviously don't care enough.

Have you ever watched any other sports besides Starcraft 2? Have you ever cheered for a team? Have you ever talked to someone who is really a fan of a..I don't know, baseball/basketball team about baseball/basketball? If you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk about it. Just don't.
A better wording than supposed is "expected". But if you didn't understood the first time I'm not sure if you will now.
Before the event my friend going wanted to know whos autograph I wanted and I said the greatest Banjo of all time and he said lol why? Thanks for explaining it for me Hayder (And thanks for the autograph I'll be soon getting <3)
By the way does this mean that the fanclub -finally- will be getting updates? I've held off on joining the fanclub for quite a while now because I do not believe it's dedicated enough for me to actually regard it as an actual fanclub, but more of a minor forum to drop in the occasional comment.
You know, it's kind of ironic; the whole "banjo" thing started as a silly mutation of bonjwa, used as a derisory term for Haypro's many bungling losses. But it turned into an oddly loving derision; we all genuinely wanted Haypro to do well for once, and yesterday proved it. The community came together with a unanimity I have never before witnessed: this time we were all cheering for real, and when the message popped up that Haypro had beaten Nestea there was a wave of celebration eclipsing any other event in Starcraft 2 by far (seriously). It almost brought a tear to my eye, and I think we've helped create a few genuine fans.
Thanks to that special someone for facilitating communications between Haypro and us, and I hope we can do this again at Dreamhack.
Apparently Haypro's fanbase was a lot like Haypro himself. A destructive force just waiting to wake up. Hopefully the starcraft world is a little different today and both have come to stay.
Gotta share a small anecdote from DH summer this year, I was at the afterparty at some bar in jönköping and said hi to Haypro when I bumped in to him just before leaving. So we exchanged a few words and I said that I was sad when he was eliminated (groupstage vs bomber if I remember correctly) and haypro just said that he didn't really care since he was so happy for Huk. Then he called over Huk, Ret and Tyler for a group photo when I asked to take a picture.
I wonder how Haypro would have done against MC if he had defeated MVP. Just imagining him plowing down three of the highest rank GSL players bring a smile to my face (and he came close to doing that).
Man that MLG was incredible for Haypro! I seriously can't wait to watch him at dreamhack. I'm glad he's finally getting the results (and fans) he deserves. Keep it up Banjo!!!!!!!!!
So glad to see him put it together in such a big tournament.
I've been following his stream for ages and frankly it has been like a different player on the stream vs what we've seen on stage and tourneys... ...untill now.
Please tune into !@#$ Slasher today because HayprO will be a guest!
Tweet from @Slasher: "Superstars @CoLNaniwa and @LiquidHayprO will both be on !@#$ Slasher today live from a LAN cafe in Sweden before DH. 5:30 PM EST on MLG.tv."
Don't remember if it was during his match vs NesTea or MVP, but the HayprO Fighting! chant by the crowd and Hayder's reaction to it was first time I've teared up watching starcraft.

I can't believe reddit would mock a player like they did to haypro and then claim for it to have been a term to honor him. /r/starcraft really is the most immature and cancerous part of our great community.

More like "hey guys, this player we've mocked for soon a year did something good, let's take credit for supporting him. AGAIN!"
No, you will find that reddit pretty much make all the 'lol so randum xD' stuff like that. So they say anyway, I'm sure there will be a redditor who can say how it went down.
You can't blame them, Reddit has been shown in multiple surveys to have far younger members on average than other alternative SC2 communities, as they mature they'll learn the value of respecting unsung heroes like HayprO.
Good luck at Dreamhack Haypro. Keep up the momentum, it means a lot to myself and many others to see you do well. I'm going to wake up at whatever ungodly hour the matches are whenever you go on stage.
Look, guys, the term simply came about because le Reddit (xD) decided to mock the great player that is HayprO. Now that he has proven to all the haters that he is good, they want to blame it on alternative communities. Don't believe their lies. In fact, don't respect any of them. Hate the site that is full of hate in itself (also child porn, it's been proven to be a haven of cp sharing).
As an elite reddit user who's been there since day 1 for the amazing storyline that is banjo (on reddit xD) I feel obliged to inform you that seeing him do what he did last weekend was without a doubt the single greatest moment of SC2 esports for me, making the TSL3 final and other similar occurences pale in comparison. All the mockery that it started out as has turned it into the most amazing SC2 storyline to date. Keep it up.
Naama only practiced TvZ (3 zergs in his group) so he was probably very prepared and hard opponent going into the series, just enjoy DH and your recent success. <3
I have been saying it for months now your awesome but these new SC2 people just do not know what your capable of. Keep working hard, nice job a MLG and kick some ass at DreamHack
LorangerChris Chris Loranger @ @LiquidHayprO well i mean i know for u its not such an issue, but for ppl who are famous, its hard to sign while doing other things
@LiquidHayprO Hayder Hussein @LorangerChris yeah when i make top16 dh ill get to write autographs too
succesful troll...is succesful, btw awesome music on the stream, just hope you would do some commentary, doesent even need to be more than talking smack:D makes watching games alot more fun when you get to hear what the players are thinking:D
I really love that Hayder streams so much now (and plays so great ) sadly I don't like the music, but with some commentary I would defenetely watch the stream all the time =)

Make sure to tune in for Homestory Cup, guys! :D Hayder plays tomorrow (the 6th) and his group consists of HerO, Naama and KawaiiRice. While HerO is scary, I definitively think he's got the chance to beat him. He should beat Naama too unless he gets "bad" maps, dunno about KawaiiRice as he usualy plays on Korean server when I watch him stream. Hoping for sick games too.
Kinda disappointed in that they decided to rely 100% on liquipedia for this event, I love it and all but its really hard to find results if they're missing from there. But hey ho, I suppose~
Time for the next upset @ Columbus, hoping he can take out DeMuslim :D DRG and NaNi will be hard but anything (literally) is possible when you have the Banjo playing!

4chan, /v/, now /vg/. Haypro was popular on /v/ for his lackluster results and his somewhat odd looks (terrorist jokes). He was named Banjo (Bonjwa) of /v/. When he started producing results in Providence this term of endearment became more popular and spread through TL and Reddit.
LOL he just stomped me on the ladder... WTF was he doing at my high dia low master MMR O.o...;; EDIT: His NA account that is... EDITno2: Sign me up o.o...
Loved his IPL4 interview, and now just saw the long MLG Columbus interview. Does anyone by any chance have a compilation of this interviews? They're so funny
and as for HuK, he moved out of the SlayerS house and back to the oGs-TL house well before oGs even disbanded and TL players in korea needed a new home. It's not really that suprising considering he is good friends with the oGs and TL players, far better than he was with SlayerS players.
Haypro was visiting Jinro and they decided it would be fun do play Code A just for fun. Jinro dropped out because the preparation took up too much of his time while Haypro followed through with the thing.
I don't expect Haypro to do anything more though, this was probably a one time thing
