D: really disappointing performance in a weak group. he did better than i expected, there are just a few small things that could have easily won him the day that he didn't do he's actually the highest ranked terran on ladder, got a bit unlucky today. he'll be okay i think | ||

He could easily have won all of his loses today, but he didn't look any great even in his won games besides the one against true. don't know what up with him and prime, I guess the end is near. He is super super weak vs proxy pylons as we have seen, so he might win by sheer strength on laddet because the opponents aren't playing well enough to not be demolished frontally, or doesn't abuse MKP's clear weaknesses because it's ladder/no care/don't know MKP's weaknesses, but in prepared matches he won't be able to win consistently with such a playstyle. He might beat the likes of First and Tear by engaging sometimes at better moments or places, but his playstyle won't cut it mowadays. Not all hope is lost, he was able to improve drastically his TvT a year and a half ago (the blue flame nerf helped) but it will take tomr. | ||

First and hurricane are actualy realy good player performing beastly in GSTL even mkp is a higher ranked player his performing is not a sign of weakness in contrary of other terran or past shining star expect MVP who just droping. And to remind you in his group he had 2 protoss and his lost are against protoss. AND droping in PvT is not a good thing or in rare ocasion. Flash and innovation are not droping in hits match up too. So just get out of this MKP have an incredible knowledge of the metagame and is a consistant player. | ||

That post was pretty extreme lol. I wouldn't qualify MKP's knowledge of the metagame as "incredible". If anything he loses to an impressive amount of fairly predictable stuff, even for low level viewers like us. | ||

You see that in Sports all the time, a player loses his motivation after playing with the same people, for the same coach, after a long period of time. He hasn´t lost his micro, his understanding of the game, etc. It just seems to me he needs to be motivated again to play at his highest level, to challenge himself to be better than he is now. I don´t see Prime lasting long, and now I hope it doesn´t, for the sake of the players | ||

 He actually did better than I expected and he was a hurricane pvp win away from code s. I do think he's lost some motivation and his confidence is lower these days. He has some major issues that need to be fixed, but won't be easy.His multitasking has never been one of his strong points as he's always had trouble attacking and defending his bases at the same time. Against zerg, this means he always loses a lot to ling runbys, like in the life and curious games. Against toss, this means zealot harass to his expos. Against, terran he's always had trouble dealing with drops. Last night was pretty inexcusable though. In the first game against hurricane he dealt with the initial dts at the third well. However, for some reason he never kills the proxy pylon. Where does he think the dts are coming from, since he was in the middle of the map? They obviously aren't walking by him, so I can't fathom why he doesn't search for the proxy pylon to kill it. Not searching and killing proxy pylons is not something unique to last night and something that he's always done. The other main issue holding him back in hots would be the hardest to fix. To be a successful terran in hots, you have to drop everywhere like innovation. That is one of the biggest benefits of hots and to not take advantage of that is handicapping yourself a bit. However, he's never been a heavy drop player in his career and has always been an attack you through the front door with brute force kind of guy. You can't just learn to drop like innovation overnight and would be the hardest thing to improve on for him, since he's never used that style. Another related thing is he needs to do more multi prong attacks like innovation, even without involving dropping. In the first game b/w innovation and symbol, innovation had waves of marines attacking everywhere. They just kept coming down in groups non stop attacking different bases. MKP has always mostly attacked using his full force at one central location and microing it. Also, the usual scouting issues too, but that's the easiest to fix, but mkp is just stubborn about it. I know, I just basically said he should play like innovation, but realize that's unrealistic as he's currently the best terran. However, MKP doesn't need to do all those things at innovation level to have success. He just needs to incorporate those things into his play more. I do worry about mkp's motivation these days, especially cause of the rumours of him playing LoL and hope he doesn't retire if he falls to code b next season. It's really a new world these days with all the kespa players included. It's also sad to see how badly drg is struggling too. Also, to think that mvp, nestea, mc and mma, who I think have 11 gsl titles b/w them are all no longer in the GSL is a bit crazy. | ||
