Since the queen buff terrans were forced to open utterly "greedy" (for the pre queen buff metagame it was greedy, now it's the standard needed to survive) to have at least a chance to not be far behind in the midgame. No matter if queens builds were used or not, this buff changed the metagame in a way that allowed zerg to punish terrans early game more easily. I'm pretty sure that MKP would have qualified for TSL & WCS KR pre queen buff, even though he may not have necessarily been kicked out by queen builds everytime. About his Iron Squid group, I feared Scarlett (and Nerchio to a lesser extent) a lot but she is far from invincible, she got destroyed pretty badly by PartinG (score wise, didn't see the games but since Creator beat her too I guess she isn't on that level) so MKP should be able to beat her, even though TvZ is harder to win than PvZ! TaeJa and Brown : Brown is somewhat good as a protoss and I'm uncertain of MKP's TvP (hadn't the chance to see it for some time) but it should be ok. TaeJa it can go either way, I feel MKP is better at TvT but TaeJa may recover to his old form and win. All in all it's a tough group but his nemesis Mvp isn't here, the only zerg is not korean and the protoss is not at Creator's level so it's quite a good draw for MKP! @Zeon0: he hasn't decided yet, but if he qualifies for the GSL ro4 he would be forced to go to the IPL, even though koreans don't necessarily know that WCG has become a "bad" tournament, I'm sure that MKP would rather try to win one if not the last GSL of WoL than participate in the WCG. If he doesn't qualify for the next round of GSL we will have to wait for an announcement to know which tourney he choses. | ||
