When the dust settles, and all is calm, I take a moment to reflect upon the things in life I cherish the most... I didn't go to work this morning because I knew you would be playing in the Up & Downs, and I wanted to support you by watching your games live. I set my alarm bright and early so that I wouldn't miss a thing. HuK, you are the one who got me into SC2, and I have always eagerly anticipated every opportunity given to cheer my heart out for you. You have inspired me on so many different levels, and have always made me proud to be a Canadian (was born, raised, and have lived in Kitchener my entire life). I saw you from a distance when my friends and I made the road-trip to MLG Providence, but was too shy to approach you and tell you how much you've impacted my life. I was restricted to a wheel chair at that time since I had recently sustained a serious pilon crush fracture to my leg which virtually shattered my tibia, putting me out of commission for close to a full year. My friends and I had planned this road trip to MLG months earlier though, and I was not going to miss the tournament for the world, even though my surgeon was hesitant at the prospect of me traveling in such unaccommodating conditions. If I could do it all over again, I would have insisted my friends push my wheel chair on over so that I might get a chance to exchange a few words with you amongst the throng of fans crowding you out - even though I know my words would never have been able to express the torrent of emotions churning within me at being in the same room as the person who had made StarCraft 2 so meaningful to me... the best Canadian SC2 pro who had opened up a whole new world, allowing me to face some of the darkest times in my life with something concrete to grasp a hold of and be excited about when all else seemed to be failing me. I've been actively reading and wandering the TL forum for several years now, even though I never saw the need to register or post. Today is special though, and today I have finally realized that I owe it not only to myself, but to you as well HuK. HuK, you've given me hope when my life was in a very dark place, and I just wanted to let you know that I've always supported and cheered you on - even if only from a distance. Today I dedicate my first post as an official TL community member to you HuK. Today is a very special day, because you are once again in Code S, where I have always believed you belong. HuK Fighting!!! | ||
