SADFACE. All that aside, I was really impressed by how much he cleaned up his ZvP act for today, actually. I was expecting a few cheeses from him, but ... nope! Went completely standard and god, that first game he played was sexy as hell. Game 3 was pretty damn well-played too; unfortunately he made a few blunders that cost him the victory, but I'm hopeful (and will remain ever hopeful) for the rest of his future appearances now. That expression on his face at the end of that series was absolutely crushing though. I hope he doesn't beat himself up too much over it. ![]()

Sure, he hasn't won a second GSL, but he is still one of the most (If not the most consistent) progamers in Korea. He has been in the top 32 of EVERY GSL season, both opens and code S. He was consistently taking down tournaments in Beta and winning show matches against players like Boxer in between. + Show Spoiler + and if today showed anything, he can still compete against solid players even in his worst matchup It's not like he is losing to low-level players either. In season 2 he lost to MarineKing, who then went on to get 2nd place in a close 4-3 series and take 2 more silver medals in GSL so far. In season 3 he lost 3-2 to HongUn in the matchup he is least confident in. GSL January he lost in best of 1's to Zenio and IMMVP (Who went on to win), but beat Maka 2-0 to retain Code S. In march he lost 2 games to Anypro, who went on to the round of 4, while taking a game off genius. To get his code S status back he 2-0'd Virus. In May he beat Check and Lyn to advance to ro16 before losing to NesTea 2-1 in a ZvZ. Finally, he showed us today that his ZvP is strong enough to compete with Ace, a player who has been in Code A multiple seasons and has been destroying the foreign scene in things like IEM and NASL. I'm done ranting now, I just feel like people are waaay to harsh on Fruitdealer. None of his losses have been to undeserving players. Even though he has not won a second GSL, he has still been a solid player since the beta.

(If not, feel free to tell me to add spoiler tags.) But to add to what Moderas has said: - PvZ is Ace's best match-up. He freaking 2-0'd Sen recently in the StarsWar tournament. That's right. Sen, whose ZvP is generally much better than FD's ZvP. - ZvP is FruitDealer's worst MU by far. Keeping this in mind, he played phenomenally today and would have won had he not made those tiny blunders that cost him the third game. I mean, sure, he lost, but he lost with fucking style right there, having played a superb, solid game up until the turning point. And if you're going to lose, that's definitely the way to go about it. People are harsh on FruitDealer because they expect him to put out amazing results, and when he doesn't, they just rag on him. But fuck it, he's a brilliant Zerg, and after that performance today? God, that was fucking amazing play from him in his worst MU. If he continues to play at that same level or higher from here on out, then hell, with a little bit of luck, he can definitely reach the semi-finals again in another GSL season. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic here and letting my fanboyism blind me, but gosh, this is the FD fanclub, so why the hell not? The only thing I'm worried about is the possibility that he might go into another slump after this loss today. That look on his face at the end of the match was painful, and I just hope he realizes that he played brilliantly, no matter what the results.

I forgot) so then after he came back he was called himself fruitdealer.

When he started playing sc2 during the beta he named himself "Fruit Dealer" as a tribute to that, I guess. His Brood War name was "Cool" and he was known as oGsCool in sc2 for a while. His story is actually quite epic when it is written properly lol. p.s. I really hope this is what you meant by "Reasoning for his name" >.> lol yeah it was. i was like 90% sure that it was gonna be some BS like "he thought it sounded cool" like evryone else.. but that is a pretty epic story for a name. As there was no hope left for zerg, he refused to let us down. After the dust settled, he was the last man standing, losing the only map considered to favor zerg but taking all four maps which were considered to favor Terran. - FD was Code-S top seed and stayed in Code-S since - where other champions fell down to Code-A. While his play style is unpredictable, his results are consistently high-level ones. - Between genie and madness one often cannot differ. See his last game versus Nestea. It was supposed to work. If it would have worked, he would be praised as a genius to make banelings work versus roaches. However Nestea's roach split was too good. While we like Nestea for his results, we love Fruitdealer for his play. The last point implies that we don't just like Fruitdealer, but love him. This love is everlasting. Fruitdealer's time will never be over, or at least not as long as zerg is played.
