Excited to hear Idra cast again this weekend! Him and Incontrol are such a good pairing as well.

Anyone knows why Idra dont try to qualify for TSL4? Huk, Machine and Incontrol are all signing up but no Idra.

If he does not at least try to qualify for this kind of tournaments he is going to have a big up hill road back. I doubt he will get anymore showmatches with he performance this year. He is out of NASL, he will not get any seeds into GSL and I am not sure if still is seeded in either MLG or IPL anymore.

Seems stupid to miss out on this one, specially now when zerg is at the highest winrate they ever been in SC2.

I'm sure he has his reasons and knows all the consequences. The only thing to do is to trust him.

actually i believe that he's choosing tournaments now (ie being picky about them) and having online tournaments might mean playing in shit conditions with lag perhaps so i think he's really aiming at only the biggest LANs

not in his head or anything but that's my 2 cents on the matter

yes, but the TSL is easily the single most prestigious Starcraft tournament in western Esports. a TSL first place finish is arguably even more prestigious than a GSL win at this point.

top that off with the fact that idra is one of like 5 ppl who have been in all of 3 of previous ones (Ret, Sen, Bratok, and maybe Nony) it would literally be terrible if he didnt even try to get in at this point.

this isnt one of those tournaments that will be back next month, this comes every year or two. and TL is actually really good about how they handle cross server play so he wouldnt be playing in any worse conditions than his opponent. if he had to choose between TSL and an MLG, i doubt anyone would fault him for choosing TSL (unless theres a issue in his contract of course)

as a fan i will be legitimately disappointed if he didnt try to participate in this.

"Single most prestigious" is definitely not true. It's online. It's same as NASL if anything.

how? Online means shit.

its the history behind the TSL

its the fact that its put on by the biggest community leader in western starcraft

its the fact that players have literally built their legacy on this tournament

all you have to do think for a second, what is Thorzain most known for? winning TSL3 or Dreamhack?

Nony? TSL2 or going to korea and living in Estro?

Mondragon?

the infamous Idra CC cancel?

i rest my case. the fact that you would compare it to the NASL is just insulting....

Cronyism != prestige.

So you're right, comparing TSL to NASL is insulting, to NASL.

its not about the lack of quality that NASL brings, its great. but its just not comparable to TSL, nor is a single MLG circuit event

ahm, i would not say that they handle cross server lag good. In the last TSL there were many complains from Koreans about TSL. And i don't think that it will be better now, unless Blizzard does something about it.

Edit: and how is winning 2 NASL's not bigger than 1 TSL?

so Thorzain being known for winning TSL isnt comparable for Puma being known for winning NASL?

explain logic please?

Can't do anything else but disagree, I think your viewpoint is upside down - I'd completely rank MLG and NASL way over TSL at this point, perhaps last time it wasn't the case.

you should really go read the rules on how the handled the cross server play. because everyone else who actually knew them thinks its the best way to handle playing cross server with a little lag as possible. the koreans complained about it because they werent used to playing cross server for anything for the most part up to that point bc nearly every major tournament they played were all in korea.

the fact that NASL comes around every 3 monthes while TSL comes around every year.

or maybe the fact that TSL3 had nearly all the best starcraft players (foreign and korean) of the time in one tournament. Ive yet to see MVP or Nestea in an NASL or nearly any koreans not on a foreign team, they were in TSL3.

the NASL player pool is not even remotely comparable.
