(don't quote me on this but I am pretty sure it's the case) not sure if you're joking or what, but i don't know how you could post this seriously, knowing how naz recruits people to liquid, and what he looks for
edit: i think most people who have frequented TL for more than a couple of years would LOL at the idea of idra being on liquid

I know that Nazgul looks for talented, but also players with high character. I was a bit surprised when travis mentioned that Liquid try to recruit Idra.

its cause IdrA said pretty much this on his stream, saying TL wanted him on there, but he felt EG was a better fit, and had a more reliable sponsorship.. he could be bsing, but that is where this is coming from

Well in his QA he definitely made it sound that liquid wanted him as well. Because someone asked him why he didn't join liquid and chose EG which he responded with "well I picked EG because bunch of old friends and I like the management and have a lot of sponsors, while being in liquid would scare me because they only have 1 sponsor". Not word for word but he said it something like that so he definitely made it sound like a choice
just listen to the QA in the end of his 2/1 stream I think it is? But yeah I was kinda surprised too when he said it pretty much
|
It's certainly open to interpretation, but he never said that Liquid tried to recruit him, only why he would pick EG between the two.

he was answering a question from the stream. the guy said "did liquid want you?" and he said "Yes, they did"

we sat down and shared thoughts with each other. talking to hear ones input never hurts. one of our terms was to treat people with respect, something which idra seemed open to. we didn't come close enough to each other based on a variety of reasons.
an implication of him being invited or not just depends on where you draw that line w/e that's just a semantics discussion not worth having.

I went back to re-listen but it cuts off in the middle of the EG/TL question. He does say "I chose EG over liquid" though which does imply more than I thought.

Oh that's interesting would be weird to have an Idra that treats other people with respect .
Thanks for clarifying ^^.

Oh man that would have been a lovely sight to see, TLAF.IdrA RET and IdrA in the same team :D what more can zergs ask for?

The idea of Liquid.Idra being in the same house as oGs.Zenio is entertaining.
|
It is in no way surprising that Liquid have been interested in Idra, considering how good he is and that they signed Huk, and it is also not surprising that both Liquid and Idra decided against it.
Anyway, I think that having Idra on EG is better for the foreign scene as a whole. Him being in EG has lead to a lot more recognition of other brilliant EG players and the fact that he is already established in Korea will help them when establishing their house. Liquid are doing good as well, so I don't really get it why do people keep on talking about what should have been.
P.S. Does anyone else hear battle drums whenever you read a Nazgul post?

So how much stuff is Idra doing these days?
He's streaming, he does lessons, he's on multiple shows(imbalance, JP & friends, sotg, kings of tin, pro tips, and this is only just recently), and he's doing interviews. It's very safe to say that no other starcraft pro at 'that' level is offering as much content for the community as Idra. It really deserves to be said and recognized how awesome he is for doing all of this.

I have a ton of respect for IdrA, especially seeing him on something intentionally silly like Kings of Tin since he has such a serious reputation. Playing team games from Korea when you're a RO8 GSL player? Baller.

I cried when I saw the photoshoped "Rage another day" photo.
ahahahahaaa..
