I know my god I could not believe he streamed that long O_O. He has been streaming alot lately. I imagine that is because he isn't playing in GSL and is leaving in a week but I am not going to complain :D

Well staying in SlayerS during the foreign tournament season would obviously have it's benefits, there is also the downside of more travel... and just look at MC's results when he overdid the travelling, or HuK at the end of last year.

His schedule over the next couple of months is likely to be pretty ridiculous, so adding travelling to and from Korea would probably be a really bad idea.

Obviously the main asset of Idra is his reputation and being highly marketable because of his BW, SC2 career and his personality. As you noticed in all of his interviews unlike Huk he perfectly remembers all of his sponsors and always mentions them. By appearing in foreigner tournaments he is creating exposure of his sponsors to his fans by meeting with them, playing games. This is crucial. Such exposure is one of the top reasons why I chose to purchase Steelseries products and whenever I feel like drinking energy drink (extremely rare) i would ofc choose Monster.
In addition he is human and must look for revenue. In GSL you don't earn much until you move really far. In foreigner tournaments it is easier to make some money and the competition is less severe. Keep in mind when he quits SC2 he needs to have money to make up for the time he dedicated to sc2 rather than study, get a "normal" job, and begin his career in the field.
Huk case is different. While being relatively new player (no BW), Huk fanbase was created by his success in GSL and foreign tournaments. As you see now that he is performing worse, there is no big "hype" on the forum maybe except his fanclub but not as much as I remember during his "glory times." That means to maintain his reputation and fanbase, Huk has to rely on his performance and to achieve that, it is better for him to stay in Korea and practice as much as he can.
Look at IdrA. He achieved some wins in 2011 but he did not have major wins like MLG or Dreamhack with severe Korean competition and yet we, as fans, are constantly supporting him no matter if he is in a slump or not, and his support does not appear to be connected to his performance since whenever he performs really bad, there is still almost as many posts cheering up for him as during when he wins IEM (don't count fake fans).
