I love TLO's play and so on, but isn't that abusing the system? He does ask if he can do this and no one have told him no, yet. I wonder what he will have to do in the future - I hope he goes 100% Terran =)

Not just in Europe vs Asia, he's been playing around 3 tournaments this week and have done it in those as well. Doesn't that give him an unfair advantage? Even though he is skilled enough to know all 3 races He can just think like this : hey I can't win vs this dude if I get protoss.. So I'm just going to choose Terran instead of Random.

I wonder what he will have to do in the future - I hope he goes 100% Terran =) You can pick any race you want (including random) and it's fair as long as your opponent knows it before the match starts. And since the race is shown in the loading screen, that's always the case. When you play ladder you never know what the person's race is until you hit the loading screen. What I think is abuse is the tournaments that force you to stick with one race for the entire time. If you're mainly a protoss player but your TvZ is better than your PvZ for some reason, shouldn't you be allowed to play Terran against someone who only knows how to play zerg? Shouldn't the system reward players who are more flexible, and able to play well at every race?

I dont really get your point True, then you can just sign up players with only their name and no one would know what race they are playing until the start of the match. Then big tournaments would be swell. Well I was mainly thinking as some players watch replays of their oponents and try to figure their strategies out beforehand to counter it. But that is also an unfair advantage I guess..

In a way this is easier for TLO's opponents to scout his strategies from replays since he goes mostly terran. Or are you arguing players shouldn't be allowed to go random in tournaments?

Signing as a race isn't a contract.
