So probably Venus album + Like a Wave? Wonder if they're actually going to put on any other songs, I'd be happy to see more. I'd also be happy to see some live Yoonjoo.

Magic follows along that with that, except it sounds quite odd saying Maejik (american style), as opposed to Majik, so I guess they just bastardised it for the track to be easier to sing and, to their ears, more pleasing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Vowel_Shift might help you. If they spell it 만 they have to pronounce it as "mun" (English i.e. "sunk"). It's actually the English spelling which is fucked up (since other languages which use the same alphabet didnt follow this pronounciation shift (or adapted their spelling)).

If you want a short one I'd say mun (as in but, fuck ...). But not really sure about that. "ᅡ is an "a" sound." That's the whole point. The English "a" sound in "man" is not a Korean ㅏ or a German "a" (and I think also not a Danish a). It's closer to a ㅔ, ㅐ(e, ä)

I can assure you a correct british english pronounciation of man does not have a long A, it's quite abrupt. I was pointing out that for many american dialects it sounds longer, hence 멘 instead of 만. We could be here all day, so let's drop it.

But yes, to hangulacize man you need to use one of those 2 letters.

The British English pronounciation has the same problem (vowel shift). The "man" is the same vowel as in "bat" (also short). Which is a Korean ㅔ / ㅐ and in no way ever a Korean ㅏ. Look at the phonetic transcriptions of the languages. But you're right - this is going completely off topic - I apologize for that. Pretty sure ㅔ and ㅐ are longer. 만 for mahn and 멘 or 맨 would be main/maen/mayne. Perhaps my ears have been clogged all this time.

![]() Also, I find it funny that we use Korean vowels to explain what we mean phonetically in other languages. Such a useful language! EDIT: Why not put a slightly older Jisook pic as well? + Show Spoiler [Cute Jisook] + ![]()

Makes all that "scandal" about Kara's dance routine seem a bit odd, doesn't it?
