Fumoffu was great. Sousuke being a battle pragmatist and dishonorably shooting people in the face should have gotten boring after a while, but it didn't simply because of how ridiculous (and practical  ) I found it to be. Plus it was very nice and lighthearted compared to the stuff that goes down in the main series. Lovey-dovey moments were just a bonus. Tessa is overrated. + Show Spoiler [Burning One Man Force] +Nami is a superior girl anyways, even if you aren't a Chidori fan.
No way, Tessa is awesome, you've read the books. Honestly Tessa gets to do waaaaay cooler things than Chidori for pretty much the whole important part of the series. Let us not forget her epic motivational speech before they charged out from Melinda Island.

Sigma has covered most of the important stuff if you are willing to settle for manga, I believe they are scanlated too.
Also, Orin-san and Hayashimizu senpai the two most awesome characters that we never get enough time for in the main series. Especially senpai.

IIRC, Sigma skips the most important part in A Dancing Very Merry Christmas though.
I'll admit that Tessa gets to do more stuff than Chidori, but overall, I still like Chidori better. She was an actual good tsundere. For whatever reason, writers seem to fail horribly at creating tsunderes these days. Anyways, for me, the best thing about Chidori was how strong of a character she was. Ending Day by Day is a good example of this. Chidori was essentially put into a unfamiliar and dangerous situation, but after her initial freak out, she got things done. Tessa does the same thing, but it's less impressive to me because she's exposed to more of this stuff through part of her job.
Anyway, I still like the other girl better. She was like a perfect mix of Tessa and Chidori. I almost wonder if it was intentional. + Show Spoiler +

Am I the only person who thinks that FMP was terrible, and fumoffu even worse? I'm not trying to be a dick, but I really hated that stuff, and can't understand how so many people here actually liked it.

Nami and the first Whispered we ever see are both awesome too, I guess the rule should be. Male whispered - assholes. Female whispered - awesome, will have crush on Sousuke.
And with the whole Tessa doing things part, she simply had far more screentime than Chidori in the last few vols of the book. The only thing really interesting to me that Chidori did was the whole thing with Sophia. That's about it.
Also why no one agree with me on Hayashimizu and Orin =(

Sousuke is a whispered love machine. It's hilarious. Leonard should've had a jealous crush on him. Actually, now that I think about it, this should've been his motivation for trying to kill Sousuke.

FMP is a good real robot series (well, barring all the lambda driver tech, anyway <_<). If you hate mecha, you wouldn't like FMP. I guess the same also applies if you're not a huge fan of tsundere/high school romance. What didn't you like? I'm honestly curious.

Orin-san was pretty much not in the main story iirc. Hayashimizu had that completely awesome moment in the main storyline though. That man is such a badass.
And yeah that explains everything about the FMP world. That Sousuke and his ability to make every Whispered fall for him. In hindsight, I am kind of surprised that the author didn't play up more of his rather mysterious birth after spending a good third of a short story vol on it.
