Also i like all the plant/flower metaphors, the show is anything but subtle but i kind of like that, not all symbolism/metaphors need to be subtle and hidden
Edit: Also while MC is fairly generic atm i don't think it's really fair to call him dense when + Show Spoiler +everyone except 002 is dense as fuck and doesn't even know what a kiss is, it's not like it's just him being a dense idiot, they just all seem to be completely ignorant and sheltered about anything romantic or sexual

Yeah, I also noticed the plant motif in the first ep. First the pistil commentary about 02 and all the mechs being named after different flower genuses (spoilers from wiki I guess).
MC isn't dense but he's starting out with that "i'm so weak, woe is me" trope, when it's obv he's going to be OP af.
Edit: also, what's with giving mech eyes? rofl

I hope the twist is gonna be that + Show Spoiler +002 is the one riding MC with her in the pilot seat instead of MC in the pilot seat. Would be a nice twist and also funny as fuck to see MC react to that since he doesn't remember anything.
Also http://www.dictionary.com/browse/bedroom-eyes just incase anyone is confused about the term since i guess it might not be as common as i thought?

Giving Mecha eyes can turn out pretty great. Giant Robo and Getter Robo do that quite a lot, with good effect.

My mech experience is obv limited and this is the first time I've seen it. I just found it humorous.

As for the show itself. They are already dropping subtle signs that can he interpreted different ways and reddit is wild with speculation about what things mean.

As for my fav shows of the season so far.
Darling - too funny. sex ed the anime. 02 is also a dom and i like the chemistry she got with hiro.
Koi wa ameagari - just a sweet story between the budding romance of a 17 year old and a 45 year old.
Citrus - i read the manga and the show is actually pretty well animated and is really faithful to the manga. i guess it is kind of trashy but it's entertaining.
Ryuuou no Oshigoto - wuxia shogi. It only gets more and more crazy later. like saki but less RNG and more realistic.
Violet evergarden - those visuals are simply the best. Also violet is interesting. I think they changed her from the novels though + Show Spoiler +because it seems like she is human in the anime when i didn't get that impression from what i read about the novels. heck, ep2 was completely anime original.
Nanatsu no taizai - season 2 of this fun battle shounen with ridiculous power levels.

New Season supposed to air in april.
minor tidbit on why the new season is called "Hero": The guys apparently had a meeting and someone suggested it, when he was then asked why "hero" the guy more or less answered "well, it's 'H' + 'Ero'. That's fitting isn't it?" 
Or something along those lines. Been some time since I watched the announcement video.
Also, the character design looks a bit off imo

I think everyone that liked DxD gave up on the anime after they shit the bed so hard in the last season.

Season 3 was garbage, looked like shit and was mostly anime original
Season 4 will have a new studio and hopefully isn't anime original, so hopefully it's actually back to being enjoyable and having passable animation
Also i prefer the new character designs a lot honestly, only a few characters that look worse, it's mostly upgrades all around

It's passione and the guys who brought us the travesty that was rail wars where they decided to kill the source and up the fanservice to 11. I doubt it's gonna be faithful to the ln

They've made other things where afaik they were faithful to the source. I'll wait and see, the anime original shit from season 3 was retconned at the end of season 3 (which makes it even more confusing why they decided to do it in the first place) so there's no reason why they can't just adapt season 4 faithfully

Yea pretty much have 0 expectations for it to be good. Iirc the series is around its apex of where the story was at its best so they can win a lot of good will by just being faithful to the lns from here on out.
I wonder how many more ln vols are coming. I think ive read like 22 at this point and the current arc has to be the last one right? I honestly enjoyed the short time skip novel with the 2nd generation more then the last few vols of the main series.

this is the second time the dude is the director (first was rail wars). I believe that he had a responsibility when he enabled his team to screw the ln author for rail wars. Maybe he'll be less arrogant since dxd is more popular than rail wars but i have no hope.

It's a good list, however I would counter that Ryou no Oshigoto would be better summed up as "Shogi: Loli Edition"

Do you guys really watch one episode of these shows every week? If i like a show, 20 min every week is not nearly enough. I always wait till a season is over, and then i watch the series i find interesting. but i also dont like to mix multiple anime up, i try to finish one, before i start the next. Well to each his own i guess
