I hoped that they would wait a few episodes before expanding the harem. I'm not sure if i like the show yet. It seems to be lacking something, but I can't put my finger on what that is. + Show Spoiler +It's lacking a plot. A good one, at least. Now for some predictions: - This has to be 24 eps. I don't think they can introduce the rest of the harem and still have a semblance of a plot in just 12. In fact, I think everything up until 12 will be harem stuff.
- New unclassified IS appears. Lots of throwaway student mooks lose to it (bet it's a man).
- Goal of the new IS is to take over the world or some equivalent for
the sake of equal rights for men great justice. Actually, scratch that. He's doing it because he's an evil villain.
- War breaks out which means our hero gets to use his fancy ability since it's not a stupid duel.
- Our hero fights the IS and loses.
- Missing sister is making cores for the enemy! OMG BEST PLOT TWIST EVER
- Houki has emotional breakdown upon learning this. Cue several episodes of angst.
- Everybody works together and beats the new IS. Bonus points if they left Houki behind at first and she arrives in the middle of battle.
I like my chances. Edit: I almost forgot. "First shift" implies that there'll be a second, third, and probably final shift as well. + Show Spoiler [Misc Madoka thoughts] +Mami is in the ninth grade. Where are her parents? Madoka has parents. Homura said some stuff about why Madoka shouldn't become a magical girl because she values her family, right? Why does Kyubey need to recruit new magical girls? This implies that new ones are needed. Are the numbers of magical girls decreasing (becoming witches?) or are the numbers of witches increasing (because of the corruption of magical girls?)? What is the criteria for becoming a magical girl? Why doesn't Kyubey just recruit everyone? For a genki girl, Sayaka can certainly be morose. Troubled past or something? Where the heck did that tea come from? O.o Kyubey is evil. I know that all happy rabbit avatars are evil because I watched Kobato. Rumor has it this is the cover for the ED single: + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/1133/1294997168566.th.jpg) I don't think it's been confirmed by a reputable source though. Merry is cuuuuuute. Holy crap. And the art in this show is so good. Barring some horrible screw up, I'm gonna watch the rest of this show.
+ Show Spoiler [IS 2] +I hope that the main guy actually develops and changes. I mean, you'd think that being the only guy around in a high school environment would...change you. Maybe the main guy would become more feminine, without any male-to-male interaction. Doubt it though.
Edit: Is Yumekui Merry only gonna be like twelve eps?
|
I haven't watched IS 2 yet, but I don't think that saying there are 'only 500' IS means they are small in number, especially considering its peace time. If you take the One Year War in Gundam, most battles would be fought with maybe half a dozen Mobile Suits total. The really large ones would be like, about 100 or so on each side? And if you taken into account that this would be the Allied Powers vs Militant Space Nazis, you would know that they are both fielding as many units as possible.
But then when you consider that IS theoretically are more powerful than most Real Robots out there, that 500 number becomes something more like "500 gundams", rather than "500 Zakus".
|
That is true, but the suits are like KFC: Only the creator knows the recipe. There's only 467 because only one person knows how to make the core/engine for them.
Edit @ Spazer: I thought that Kyubey(sp) was a cat, not a rabbit.
|
+ Show Spoiler [Fractale 1] +Wow, that was really confusing. It was unexpectedly funny too. And it says it will only be eleven eps, so I'm sure that the pacing will get much faster.
The doppelgaenger things are interestingly designed. It reminded me of that dumb Bruce Willis movie, Surrogates. I hope that they explain what happens to your body while you use one. Does it get put in storage somewhere? I also hope that they explain how the Fractale thing works. It seems kinda like a futuristic internet.
And the girl, Phryne, was hawt.
Also, I hope someone decent picks up Hourou Musuko. Because I refuse to watch it from Horrible >.>

LoGH 35-36 + Show Spoiler + Reuental vs Mittermeyer some day? That would be awesome. I have no idea who I would root for! That would really trouble Reinhard though if Reuental wins. So I guess I'll go with Mittermeyer.
I also wonder if Oberstein has any plan. His first reaction during the assassination attempt still makes me think that he is loyal to Reinhard though. I guess we'll see!
Both Yang and Reinhard seem to be aware that something is fishy with Phezzan. For some reason, I expect both of them to just go through the Phezzan corridor and crush this weak power. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
Annerose is not out of the way yet. I thought she would be after season 1. What's gonna happen, she get killed and Reinhard go Berserk and kill everything? I doubt it. Taken hostage seems like a decent possibility.
Expecting more of Muller in the future. I hope he actually does something good. Just like Mecklinger whose only achivement so far (excluding Amlitzer because everyone had something to do there) is retreating from Merkatz.

+ Show Spoiler +Mecklinger did slightly more stuff prior to the start of LOGH, in Movie 1. He was Reinhard's Chief of Staff then, or something. But yeah, expect alot more from Muller. Hes a rising star in the Empire. You won't have to wait too long, either... Pretty much all I can say about the rest, is wait and see.

Not sure if this was intentional, but did Gosick EP2 remind anyone of the DS game 999? Replica sinking ship + traps + the use of kids in both the game and the show?
|
I'll tell you when I see it. I'm waiting for UTW's release.
|
I have yet to watch the first EPs of GoSick or IS. Maybe I was just waiting for the weekend, though.

So I'm up to 9 shows this season. Don't know how I'm gonna keep up with LoGH. -____-
Guess I won't be sleeping for the next few months.
|
I have seven for this season, nine airing overall if you count Gundam Unicorn and Koe de Oshigoto!, and I'm trying to grind through LoGH and FMP. -_-

I just want to say that episode 15 of Super Robot Wars was THE greatest episode of anime ever made, combined with the most troll ED I have ever seen. It is a crime that this show doesn't have a proper subber beyond HorribleSubs.
BUSHIN SOUKOU DAIZENGAR
edit: Also grinding LOGH is more important that watching all of the [comparably] shitty shows this season.

+ Show Spoiler +Julian is so naive. He wants to become a soldier to protect people? While that's great, unfortunately, that's not how the system works. He should stick to being a housewife.
I'm fairly certain that Oberstein is not plotting against Reinhard - that would probably hinder his goals more than anything else. To him, Reinhard is something like an incredibly useful tool.
Phezzan is fishy, but in reality, I don't know if there's much the Alliance or the Empire can do against them. They're basically an economic superpower, so killing them might cause one's own economy to collapse. I dunno though, don't really know how economics works. =/ Plus they've been "neutral" for a looong time, they have equipment like the Artemis necklace, and have survived despite being the only other navigation route between the empire and alliance besides Iserlohn. I think they know how to take care of themselves.
lol, if you're feeling sorry for Mecklinger, you should feel worse for Attenborough. I swear, every battle he fights in, he just delays the enemy until Yang can come and save him.
Mittermeyer... I feel like his optimism is misplaced. Just blindly following Reinhard seems like a stupid thing to do, especially since Kircheis isn't around anymore (physically, anyway <_<). I did find it very interesting that Reuental has some ambition left in him though.
What's up with the sick noble? Something's not right there. Since his heir(?) is with Annerose, I guess he'll have a hand in an assassination/abduction attempt or something like that. I didn't expect her to get anymore screentime either, but I suppose it makes sense, considering that she's the only person that Reinhard cares about who's still alive.

Just finished chapter one of Sharin no Kuni. Looks like the Sachi route will be first. Can't wait

As for that sick noble, its significance won't really come up for a while, but keep it in the back of your mind. It seems kinda trivial right now, but in the future it will come back to relevance.
Attenborough is great though. As long as he isn't a fucking blonde like how they made him in Golden Wings lol. But I could say the same about most of the guys on the Alliance side. They are all so cheerful and likable, but they are always in Yang's shadow. Its parts like Iserlohn vs Geiseburg where they actually get to shine. No one beats Schenkopp though, haha.
And about Mittermeyer "blindly" following Reinhard... Its not really that. They haven't yet talked about their relationship. I'm not sure if they have talked about Mittermeyer's background yet? Well, when they do, you will start to understand his loyality a bit more.
