The comedy is really good and I had some good laugh. The subject seems to be very serious. I read here and there that some people got hit really hard by that anime. Was a pretty good watch for me years ago. I can't stand heavy drama at all so I can tell you this has a good mix of comedy and drama, and seriousness and outrageousness. I might spoil some stuff so that's all I'll say.
I was torn about this one. It has some decent comedy and a very serious topic that gets glossed over all the time - one that quite a lot of people can identify with.
+ Show Spoiler [Welcome to the NHK] +Basically the serious topic ist "people who have troubles integrating themselves into society due to whatever reasons and live the life of a hikikomori as a result". The "solution" the author proposes is to shut those people off their monetary supply to force them to be part of the working population. This is such a rude and disrespectful way of tackling the issue and it completely ignores the underlying problem. "Just let them starve to death" is pretty much the conclusion the series reaches and it just ends there. If they have no money to buy food, they cannot shut themselves in. Problem solved. Just... no. It is not a good social commentary. It does not solve any problems. It does not explore the reasons for such a behavior. And it does nothing except making fun of it. I was fairly disappointed since I was expecting the series to be more than that; to offer a solution or a new perspective. But it didn't. "Suck it, weirdos! Time to grow up and get some work" is all I got from it and that's a damn shame...

Jojo was fantastic. + Show Spoiler +I think this is the first villian that I've felt is truly vile in Jojo. Dio was an asshole that thought he was God but he didn't feel truly evil for evils sake. Same as the Pillar men. They were just not human so human morality didn't work. This guy is just straight up evil. His stand even seems vile.

So Shouwa genroku seems to be getting a 2nd season as well? Not quite sure since 1st april but the tweet seems legit and ANN is reporting it as well rather than putting it into the april fools section. It also doesn't seem like something you'd say as april fools as the mangaka imo but who knows. Kinda surprising tbh, the manga didn't sell, the BDs didn't even manage to get on the charts at all, but I'm not going to complain o/ Did they have something else that raked in the money for them to insta-announce s2?
Either way, glad to see DEEN doing good with their shows this season. Certainly a step up from Log Horizon etc.

+ Show Spoiler [JoJo ep 1] +Mediocre. Very low key for a first ep, but the story doesn't really pick up until the gang's all here. Animation looked a bit iffy at parts. Hair insults didn't have enough tension. They didn't even do the hair spikes, which was kinda disappointing. The opening scene was pretty funny. Caught me off guard. I don't remember that being in the manga, but it's a good shoutout.
No OP yet. I expected that, but still... ;;
+ Show Spoiler [Rakugo] +Decent ep.
The scene where Kiku and Konatsu butt heads is great. Konatsu saying that her boisterousness comes from her father and that her vindictiveness comes from her mother is perfect. She's both of Kiku's demons in a single package.
Yotaro's performance being a spitting image of Sukeroku's was another scene that was really well done.
There's a lot of shit they needed to setup for s2, to the point that the ep itself felt a little rushed. They even called it out in the post-credits scene, to my amusement.
Rakugo was definitely my favorite show this season. The story is pretty solid, but I think the show stands out most because the directing is so good. Significant care is taken with all the rakugo scenes, shifting angles and emphasizing body language to achieve the desired mood. I'm also really glad it's getting a second season, because certain clever things don't become clear until later...
Planetarian is actually happening. Robotanks unite.

+ Show Spoiler [jojo] +So what's up with Stands being the plot again. I thought the plot for the previous season was Holly was dying from getting a Stands so they went to kill Dio the source of Stands. It just stopped new Stands from appearing and Holly's was still developing? This will be a follow up to last season, but I guess the next season can't use stands again unless it wants all characters to be very old or have stands develop when they were babies.

Hell, Part 7 states that stands come from meteorites. Similarly, Part 4 has its own thing going on. Don't think about it too much.
Stands are in every Part from here on out. If he wanted to, Araki could make up a new way to give everyone an arbitrary superpower, but for whatever reason, the idea of stands just stuck.

Rakugo was really good, it had some episodes that felt boring but I think overall it was the anime I liked the second most in the end. Plus it's nice that it's not over yet, there still are some interesting things about the story that aren't finished. First was KonoSuba (too funny), so yeah DEEN shows were awesome IMO.

Part 7 onwards is an alternate universe.

Guys, everyone of us has stand. it is the power of will, it is your determination, it is gravity, it is love.
Leonardo da Vinci is probably the most well known stand user, he has this ability of engraving souls in his works.
+ Show Spoiler +thats the lores in jojo world haha. and the people in jojo world can have the manifestation of their stands in several way: 1) genetical (triggered by extremely strong emotion determination), the rarest bunch 2) highly implied that, one way or another came across the artifact (arrows, ought to be related to the mask/s in jojo1/2) 3) + Show Spoiler [JoJo7] + JoJo7's demon desert/tree, or fusing part of saint's body We have also seen 1+2 situations too. in JoJo4 many of the characters were 'created' by that old dude by sneakily make a cut on people lol.

I'm fairly torn on Rakugo. On one hand, I definitely think it's AotS in terms of quality. The story was decent, the directing was great. I still can't believe it was Deen doing this, seems like they got a quality team on here for once. On the other hand, I didn't enjoy much of the show because Rakugo just isn't the form of entertainment that, well, entertains me.

omg what a nerd, my eyes turned wet when he told Hirose to 'just run when you see this (bad) guy, there is no use to call police either'.
The story of how a boy turned into a man.
Oh man, i have waited for this since 16years ago, wow. Those early jojofans would have waited for 20+ years lol

1min in, failed already for horriblesubs to not even translate the names to english localisation.
I like how the characters mimic'd their sprites in the court and that they did use the soundtrack from the games when Phoenix was "in control".
also liked how they used the game's UI for character/date&time/location intros.
The subs thing will annoy me to no end, hopefully some other sub group also picks it up.

I'm confused though, why bother doing it again?

I dunno. I "watched" episode 1, but since its just the OVA cut up into a TV series, and I've rewatched Unicorn a million times already, I just had it playing on my other screen while not paying attention to it. I probably won't watch anymore until like... maybe episode 8 or 9 so I can see based Kobe Byalant
