Good stuff, good stuff. Even if the mage keeps getting shafted, at least she's singing the ED I think? But got lots of Pina Co Lada so it can't possibly be a bad episode. | ||

I think the best thing this first episode was the ED theme and visual. Of course, there was some good political setup and even a bit of fighting. Will be interesting to see how things go in the next episode. + Show Spoiler + Speaking of politics... is every other member (not Pina) of the Imperial family a fucking moron? Maybe not the one brother we haven't met (that I know of) yet; but the brother introduced this episode needs a swift kick in the balls, and the Emperor seems disconnected from reality. The senators seemed to take about three seconds to reach the almost nearly foregone conclusion that they are fucked if the try to fight a war. (Barring fantasy elements not yet introduced, such as large scale battle magic or tame dragon warriors - and even then, they're fucked.) High technology to low technology contacts usually fare poorly for the indigenous low tech people. | ||

I ended up helping my dad install a dish washer, it was a nightmare. We can watch Dagashi when you're on tomorrow. Ill watch Gate on my own right now. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + I got hooked quite a bit after ep 3 or 4 I think, very good show. It was certainly a very unique approach in some areas. I especially liked the use of animation and different animation techniques to underline the roles of different characters as well as emotions etc. I also liked how everything was connected and each patient basically knew each other. This fact was well handled and intertwined with the treatments. The only big thing that I didn't really like was that the show seemed to convey that it's rather easy to get rid of such disorders by simply knowing the cause. This is definitely not the case.  They seemed to have hired english speakers for the american characters. It's a nice touch to have engrish for japanese people and english for american instead of engrish for both. | ||

//finished El Hazard: The Magnificent World. Turned out to be rather mediocre after a really refreshing first ep. Sadly the humour grew old quite quickly. The show was also so full of tropes I lost count. | ||
