If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

I use TV's for my consoles. If you want to be hardcore, CRT TV's are the best since they don't have as much visual lag as digital ones.

Even if it's a troll, that's some epic level shit from Shaft. Look at the page source for the countdown, it has Hanekawa in ASCII art.

And that countdown ends about 1am (CDT) on Sunday. Guess who's staying up late Saturday night.

Kizu best monogatari. Kabuki (Mayoi Jiangshi) close second.

Kizu only one of monogatari lns I have read. A movie of it would be delightful. More Kisshot plz~ we only got a tiny tease from the time travel arc.

I think Kizu is one of the only Monogatari LNs that you can find with a reasonably complete translation - then again it's the only one I really put effort into finding. A lot of the others I looked at had disclaimers about translators throwing up their hands in dismay at trying to capture the Japanese word puns.

Yeah and Shigatsu has an 8,93 over there...Not saying Haikyuu is bad or anything but MAL ratings don't necessarily mean a lot.

Agreed but considering their recent track record they probably wouldn't have done another original work anyways. So yes, it sucks that it's Manglobe going but then again, we currently do have too many animation studios...

Nah, it's not the amount of studios. It's the amount of shows.

Reduce down from making 200+ low budget shows per year to like 80-90 medium-high budget shows per year, I think that would be better. Though that would mean 2006 is the year the industry went complete downhill.

Hm, don't you think the amount of studios is the reason we have so many shows? Too much competition, not enough of a market-->tons of low quality stuff.

I think it's the other way around. The studio is just the contracted worker in 99% of the cases. It's the production committees that want that many shows. New studios were made to go along with the increased demand from wanting more shows.

Oh ok. That doesn't seem logical from an outsiders point of view but the addition of studios following the increasing demand definitely makes more sense than new studios just coing out of the blue. I can see you being right on the money here... The problem either way is that, in this state, reducing the number of shows will result in more studios going bankrupt. On the other hand, I can't imagine this system to run stable, with so many shows being produced, infinitely.

Looking at sales from this year, there are some series that are doing are better than i expected, and some that are doing worse than i thought

http://www.someanithing.com/3059

DxD didn't drop as hard in sales as i thought it would after the disaster that was season 3, here's hoping a possible season 4 isn't as big a disaster

Arslan is doing way way way better than i thought it was doing sales-wise, did it have event tickets or something? I thought it was sub 1k average

DRRR dropping way harder in sales from volume to volume than i thought, especially considering the first seasons sales, guess they waited too long before relasing more

Also outside of volume 1 owari no seraph also sold way way less than i had expected, for some reason i thought it'd hit 5-6k average, i didn't think it was good but i expected it was something that'd sell due to fujoshi money

Also, so many shows i'm waiting for BD releases for
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!

Turns out Kawakami is too lewd for TLADT. Don't know if that gives me more hope for Horizon or just makes me sad :<

@Unleashing - So it wasn't just me that felt DRRR was taking way too long to release BD volumes. Any idea why their schedule is so delayed? Arslan I've only found like 1/2 vols, are there more? Also DxD not dropping makes sense. You still got high res uncensored titties which people will buy regardless of content imo.

+ Show Spoiler [Owari] +
Do people really prefer 8-kun over Sf? Dam that whole thing after she played Itaru's recording was just too much man. Best doll.

To do well on that list, basically fujioshi bait or idols. zz
Also obligatory boats. Hi Ecael-dono~

what's standing out for me on things you didn't mention or where I disagree:

Nisekoi: thought that'd sell better just for the "brand" it is. Not by a lot and I liked s1 more than s2 but it being at 4-6k is kind of surprising for me
Owari no Seraph: Yeah sure Hayamin was great and all... but 6666 (lol that number) ? The other vols are more in line with what I expected. For me perhaps still a bit high if anything.
Junketsu no Maria: Not surprising at all, I knew the sales were garbage but I think that's surprising for a lot of other people in here. It was really popular in ADT but apparently completly tanked in JP or atleast outside of ADT.
Souma: Now THAT'S surprisingly low oO 2.5k ? really?
Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku: whyyyyy,. What's wrong with Japan?

On the big things... everyone knew that Idols, boats sell like crazy and that fujoshi's buy like crazy. A bit suprising to see OreGairu only on 13k but that's still in line with what I expected. With the ending being what it was, that problably hurt them.

Oh and Katou-god's show is selling better than shitty KyoAni melodrama. Suck it guys :3
<Elem> >toad in charge of judging lewdness <Elem> how bad can it be <Elem> also wew, that is actually p lewd.
