If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.ggFor currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net |
Sadly, I think that is actually a good flowchart for non-elitist anime watchers (but i dont think that chart works for introducing anime to newcomers lol), whoever made that chart has some really limited exposure to anime as a whole ('i only know whatever is popular at the moment' for the past 8 years) and very likely does not read manga.
That Gurren Langann for giant robot in the top list lol, i wonder if the dude watched the actual Giant Robo. I would approve more of the chart if he put Gundam in the mech top choice and 'old school comic style' for jojo.....
that bahamut in the top list also makes me wonder if the dude just started to watch anime 3 years ago.

Rokka anime can easily cramp 4 books into 24 episode as season1 and then make the rest of the books into season2. But nope. And the writer is not good at the action packed story development, it is an entirely different thing compared to book of bantora. Basically for rokka you can condense 5 books into 10 pages of summary of stuffs that matter. :O Would you still recommend reading for someone that enjoyed the anime? Honestly compared to book of bantora, rokka is so much less of a masterpiece from the same writer, because like i said all you need is just to read the summary of all the important story bits thats it (like what is the truth behind the majin and flower goddess and everything that links to it), i would say if you have time then ya why not, it is not that bad up until book4 anyway (i know it gets messier from book5 on lol). I simply cannot get over the fact it is very unlikely they make more anime of it, because if they keep the pacing like they did for the 12 episodes they made (that covered book1), they would need at least 6 episodes for every book after, that will make it like 50+episodes for the whole thing. Considering they bloody green lighted 27episodes for 10books for book of bantorra (that i still hold grudges on it lol because anime didnt do justice for it) that has way more contents and actual interesting backstories of the characters etc, 12 episodes for 1 book of rokka can only mean that they do not intend to make more of it, or very unlikely anyway. Sad. what a shitty thing to do. Also same to NGNL. and another issue i have with rokka LN is that its illustrations suck donkeyballs compared to the awesomeness of Shigeki Maeshima drawings in book of bantora. lol rokka is approved by jojo: + Show Spoiler +
Your raging hardon for bantora can't be healthy.
On September 24 2015 10:27 Sentenal wrote:"Anime has only existed for 10 years: The Flow Chart" Sorry, I can't endorse it at all. The top part is garbage, and the bottom flow chart is impossible to read, and barely any better. Also, I have to give Rokka credit. I didn't think they could have done it, but in the last episode, they managed to introduce a character who is even uglier than Flamie. The last Brave. Wow. Who the hell ok'd that character design?
What? How you hating on Flamie
As to chart, the shortcomings are obvious. But chart is just a really crappy format of conveying scattered information and it's probably as good as it can be made.

They basically just linked a bunch of "Do you want X? Watch Y!" together even though there is no logical progression between any of the branches. Pretty useless.

That flow chart is way to complicated and confusing... I prefer the one we have in the mod node for sure, even if it's a little outdated by now.

Finished up Paranoia Agent. That was pretty bizarre. + Show Spoiler +What started as a relatively normal psychological thriller quickly formed into some insanely surreal, supernatural story. Everyone went insane, crazy experimental episodes to serve tid-bits of information of the mystery to the viewer. But after all of that I really liked the last sequence that summarised the message that the show wanted to make. Pretty good message and unique way to convey it. I also liked how Maniwa became the old sage in the end and progressed the insane equation to the end. In the beginning of the show I thought the old sage was the one to institute the actions of shounen bat. Turned out he was a crazy genius with supernatural powers that tried to solve the whole case. o.O Well, I don't think a viewer could have come up with such a theory in the beginning since there weren't any signs of supernatural powers existing in the story at that point in time.
Hard to rate but I think I'll give it an 8/10.

Not that outdated though. It's not like 2014 or 2015 had a lot of amazing stuff.

bantorra was the best action-y anime i've watched. not usually a fan of the genre but it was pretty decent.

also as i said before it aired, it does have quite some yuri, technically some somewhat forceful yuri, but yuri nonetheless Also for you numy, non-spoiler 30 second ONA: + Show Spoiler +
Edit: decided to google, 11 of the 12 episodes aired uncensored on nico nico like yesterday, wonder if any subgroups are gonna paste their subs onto the uncensored version

Well I don't know if there are any quality issues that'll be fixed in BD aside from uncensored.
edit: Fk you now a tease too. Screw both of you!@

Though I guess my low expectations made me far easier to please, i expected shoe-string budget animation.

In the era of overwhelming amount of anime/LN designated for otaku, book of bantora was so refreshing, it was the only LN i managed to finish back then lol. And then i had some big hope for the anime and then it disappointed me.

You people all suck! What's the name of the anime where that heated backseat action is going on?

I think the chart starts out fine, those are alright suggestions for starter animes. Then it just gets confusing.

The one I posted? It's from Moyashimon. But I warn you, it's really just a tease for the most part. + Show Spoiler +Although it's pretty heavily hinted at that they had sex. The show is worth the watch regardless so I will just recommend it to you. Chances are good that you at least find it decent since you liked Jinrui. It's not nearly as good as Jinrui but the humour is kind of similar and the microbe theater in the end of each episode is awesome.

You don't have to spoiler to girls having sex Miragee. This is a safe place for you. Silver Spoon dealt with Agriculture school which was pretty awesome although more coming of age than comedy. I'll check it out.

lol. I just spoilered it in case someone would want to be surprised. Well whatever, I hope you will enjoy Moyashimon, let me know if you like it.
On a different note: I just realised that I'm one anime away from breaching the 100 mark (yay for being a newbie o/). So glad that I didn't accidently waste that spot with an anime such as Kuusen or so... :> I first thought about watching GitS: SAC - SSS now but after I had watched Tsumiki no Ie recently, Aru Tabibito no Nikki came to my mind. I think I will ponder a bit and then probably flip a coin, lol.
