Charlotte might be better but I still never bothered checking it out. It looked pretty stupid early on but everyone's so hyped about it lately that I'll certainly do that at some point and wouldn't be surprised if that ends up between Sore ga Seiyu and Shimoneta the way people are talking bout it lately.
NNB probably within AOTS-reach for most people but it's just plainly not my thing. But for about everyone else that certainly would have to be in top 3 as well.
As they say in the old country "shit taste confirmed"
Yea we obviously has radically different tastes for this season lol. I wouldn't watch TLR/Gakkou Gurashi/Sore ga Seiyu ever and I think the Illya series is a bastardization that should be burned at the stake. Shimoneta is also pretty bad... It has been borderline drop material for most of its run for me.
Shimoneta is borderline drop for me as well, I might actually be willing to rank it the same as Rokka. What's wrong with Gakkou Gurashi & Sore ga Seiyu? I can easily see people not liking TLR but those other two are pretty damn good.
Don't you guys know by now how radically different tastes are between posters here? There's like a massive divide.
Personally I haven't watched much this last season but the only show that actually made me keep watching was Rokka. Fate too I guess but dam I can't have too much lewd loli at once. Need that in small doses of lewdness. Gate had potential but honestly it fucked it up so dam hard that I have no desire to watch it.
ps: Shirobako ending so good. Think I'm going to go cry in a corner. Zuka-chan fighting!@

now you understand why people posted that when it aired
On unrelated news: I'm enjoying Akagi quite a lot. Live action, subs are usually out on fridays or saturdays. 9 episodes in so far, each episode ~50 minutes. Just pretend Washizu is Caller and it makes the whole thing even better. Probably the first sports-Manga and sports-Manga adaptation ever I enjoyed. I usually can't stand that at all. It certainly looks a bit cheap but that fits the whole gangster/mafiosi/yakuza theme with it being a pre-quel in the past.
If someone's interested, I recall someone mentioning they like Mahjong a bit ago: Searching for "akagi [720p]" under "Live-action - English translated Live-action" will get you the first 9 episodes

Shovel Girl noooooooooooo! I didn't expect that much progression in just one episode. Zombies breaking through and shit, Yuki seems to realise/remember everything, situation is really dire. Still, I expect them to heal shovel girl and escape from the school.
But... what about the girl's brother? And the romance with mc. Everything was so perfect two episodes ago T_T.
Anyways, why would the evil guys only act now that the sister didn't die? Or is it later in time, and the whole meeting singer curing brother didn't happen because mc was locked up?
Ofcourse I don't see any reason they didn't act before the superpower teens got all strong and stuff, but I'm not expecting a (good) explanation for that anyway.
Was quite convinced the 7th was chest girl because she didn't seem to have a real other 'role' + has knowledge and contacts/position to most easily set stuff up +had door key + could lie easiest about stuff because rest where not experts and then later because of her actions (when the key turned out not to matter).
But her still not being revealed rafter they made it more and more obvious it was her makes it seem like it could be someone else?
There's the girl who did the whole crazy freak out, in which she could have completed the ritual. But she already seems to have the clear role of being annoying and having bunny ears+big tits, an apperentally important char inclusion in many anime.
Edit: Could be they accidentally activated it while trying to deactivate it and there's another explanation for there being 7 braves.
Btw, I just started watching anime again after some time not wathcing them. So far of this season I've just started going trough Shirayuki, Overlord, Gate, Rokka, Charlotte is there anything else that's recommended? What about the shows last season (wich I watched none off)?
Try Ushio to Tora and Gakkou Gurashi! from this season. Last season didn't really have anything of worth.
As much as I loved last episode of Gakkou Gurashi, and I really did, it does leave me with a bad aftertaste. Like you said + Show Spoiler +
I expect them to save shovel-chan. Someone mentioned they might even save Taroumaru and while that's certainly possible, if they really want to go grimdark they could also do: <girl hears him locked up in that room in the basement> <emotional scene as she realizes she can only save one of them: Shovel-chan or Taroumaru> <with tears in her eyes she runs back, leaving Taroumaru in that room> Either way it's between those two imo. But I just don't see how she's even supposed to pull that off without a huge asspull. As you said, zombies all over the place now.
Not a bad thing about the episode itself, but it makes me worry about the next one and if they can pull it off decently.
As for Rokka... I'm 2 episodes behind by now... not sure if I should drop it or not.
I agree with you completly. According to a friend, shovel girl doesn't even get hurt in the manga. I hope they know what they are doing since they are obviously going with huge anime original parts in this adaption. I hope they can pull of what they set up in this episode.
Zombies aren't that much of a problem though. The biggest plothole or rather question until now has been why only one of the girls picked up a shovel. The shovel was hugely effective and the zombies are dumb as fuck. Clearing all the floors from zombies wouldn't be an asspull to me when they finally start to arm everyone.
well yeah... but they're like 14 year old girls or something like that. So I can understand that a bit. If anything, the fact that Yuki hasn't picked up a shovel is pretty obvious. Mii-kun only got there recently and basicly was told to just try and observe how they're going about daily life for now. And she did pick up the shovel just now So the only one that could have really done that would have been the club-prez I think?
Seems like she's really concerned about yuki and doesn't want to risk anything.
14? Really? I know they look young but that's freaking anime. Isn't Yuki in her final year and would go to college afterwards? She must be 16 at least, probably 17 or so.
I get what you are saying but still: A normal human being wouldn't leave their safe ground un-armed in such a situation if not a complete pacifist.

I don't even read the manga, but I know for a fact that Kurumi does get bitten in it.
I highly doubt there will be a choice to save Taroumaru, as he's already turned.
Slow zombies aren't supposed to be a threat in the traditional sense. More than anything, their purpose is to serve as a reminder that the survivors (and by extension, humanity) are screwed even if they do somehow find a cure. It shifts the story from being about battling the zombies to being about internal group drama.
That zombie hordes are dangerous is one of the defining hallmarks of the genre. Sure, an organized defense will allow you to slaughter them, but the real question lies in how long you can actually keep it up. The girls can probably handle a small group no problem, but killing literal hundreds is pushing it. Ten bucks says they get lured away by something.
Ok, he may be miss-informed then. I doubt that he is reading the manga.
As for the zombies: I remember an pretty adequat graph about zombie movies and who is going to win. fast+intelligent zombies almost always win while slow+dumb zombies almost always "lose". A combination goes so-so, so slow+intelligent zombies can certainly win. In this show we have slow and dumb zombies though.

Depends on what you like. For me Top 3 is currently Gate > Overlord > Charlotte probably. Though third one is pretty hard as I also like Ushio to Tora and Akagami is pretty enjoyable as well. Rokka is good too, but I'm not all that much interested in it. Oh and JWWW is also really fun to watch usually, idk where I'd put that...
Its been a pretty good season.
Have been saying this since before the season started.^^ My top 3 is probably Ushio to Tora, Gakkou Gurashi and JWWW. Not one of the animes I expected to be up there before the season started, lol.
I'm not quite sure of why all the love for Rokka. Yeah, great, it's a closed room mystery wrapped inside of a hero's journey quest to stop the evil bad guy.
If not for Fremy... anyways.
Tastes vary greatly, etc, etc, and you know that mine sucks because I would put Wagnaria!!! up at the top of my list. (Next season, #1 through 5 has been reserved for Owarimonogatari.)

I forget what happens next exactly, but it all could have been skipped if Rory hadn't been so horny and they had just gone to fight the dragon. Instead we get the upcoming run around before anything happens and Tuka's horrible arc.
Rokka continues to be great loving how the world's strongest man fights, but I'm worried where this is going after the arc. Not that we're going to be getting anything beyond this arc this season with only 12 episodes, but I might read the LN. Some comments here suggest it just gets weird and loses focus?
It doesn't lose focus on what's happening. It just likes to throw plot twists at you all the time.
Rokka's story seems like a really simple defeat the demon lord plot so after this plot is over it would be smooth sailing. Defeating the demon lord is a regular event that happens every hundred years how hard could it be? Though the only reason the story is interesting is because of the complications and it's not just fighting demons so as long as the plot twists are well written it should be good.

No, the demon lord is the prize after the mystery is solved. The mystery isn't solved yet even in the latest volume released. It's more of a mystery book than a "lets go kill big bad" adventure story.

if you put yourself in their position it's both drama/horror! Just imagine working as seiyu. So maybe he just doesn't like drama/horror
