What is there to ? about? It's straightforward. Some recommendations are not well suited for every individual. Some are pretty silly when it comes to a series or even the order of them, though people can enjoy what they watch however they want. If you want to have a better viewing experience and not just one that may have wasted your time on something not enjoyable for your tastes, look at the reasons people list them.

AoT was totally out of my comfort zone of anime i only checked it out cause of how many people were like "er ma god its sooo good" and i horrified after the firs ep but i kept watching hoping for a happying ending/at least an explanation to all this shit happening...then the season ended and i was like...fuck me. I know im gonna cringe and have that ball dropping feeling in my stomach when i watch the second season  but i gotta finish it T_T i have to know!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm reading the series AoT is partially based on, and AoT is a fucking walk in the park compared to this.

yes i think the only violent anime i watched before hand was dbz, fma (cried when huges died T_T my favourite character) and angel beats ( think this was before i even watched sao)

I read the manga back in April and was hooked on it. Read through it in 2 days since I also look at the art and such. I watched a bit of the anime but seeing as the manga was far ahead, I forgot for a week and now I'm 7 episodes behind at least. Not sure I'll catch up yet, rather catch the 1-2 chapters that I missed since Sept. I read part of the first chapter of Kimi ni Todoke, seems interesting. Dumb characters aren't necessarily bad imo. Keep in mind that even in Ryuji's case, from our perspective, it was obvious but he never knew that Minori liked him(she didn't do much), that Ami liked him(she only did one thing back after she beat her stalker) or Taiga(she started doing much more after the Christmas episode and he noticed a bit more but never got Ami's comment). btw, since I didn't mention this, he also acted like it was kitamura saved her since Taiga herself didn't want to hear that she said those comments so he was respecting her wish (and not being a prick lol). I give most animes a chance unless it's ecchi anime then forget it lol. You gotta give them more time imo. Some animes are slow and a bit boring at the start then they pick up. Shingeki no Kyojin is amazing imo. Last I was reading it, we were getting more and deeper into the story. I dunno when it got popular since I only found out about it in April but either way, I would still read it regardless. well, I marathon some but like you, if I'm enjoying something or want to see more and have the time etc... then I go for it. Had time last night for Valvrave and went for it. Don't regret it XD Magika is supposedly a secret organization that is in control of the world or something. It was just introduced in the finale so I'm not that familiar with it and don't want to re-watch the scene again XD I used kissanime since I used to use it in the past but I can try those other ones. Well these "dumb" characters are just 100000 more times prone to these situations, in this girl's case she's SO socially inept and naive it's painful to watch. Every situation in the anime is about this, someone who is more astute than her takes advantage of her and one of her friends or love interest has to fix it but not before she spends 1 or 2 episodes being depressed about what she did which was nothing because it wasn't her fault anyway but she didn't know because she never had friends or people to interact with blah blah SIIIIIIIIIGH. It's exhausting just thinking about it lol, this drama just feels forced imo. Also remember how me and Blizz broke up? well this show disappointed me even worse than Blizz lol. I could write an actual essay explaining all the things that I disliked about this show, I dropped it around episode 8. Yes the art is AMAZING, and yes I'll admit I was SO pumped about this show when it started that I would download the raws then watch it again subbed, I almost read the manga but I'm SO lazy about reading mangas that even this show couldn't make me . But yeah I was just like meh :/ just a "gritty" and "bloody" naruto, not worth my time and moved on . I also dislike all that ecchi and fanservice shit lol, I'm really not the demographic for that, not worth watching a show if that's what the writers hoped would hook people <.<. I was very surprised that the series generated most of the hype because of the fighting scenes. I only read that when I finished the first season. I personally don't watch any anime for the fighting scenes because fighting itself is boring to me most of the times. There are few animes where I think it was well done and didn't bore the hell out of me. Usually that is if the combat is fast paced and/or tactical and doesn't last long. In SnK I think it was rather well done, it didn't bore me at all. But the reasons why I continued watching were the well panned out mystery (though I wish it would have had a little bit more conclusions by the end of S1) and the emotions. Dunno, it felt really well done as a whole and captured me so that I always wanted to watch the next episode immediately. I'm glad that I watched it when it already finished airing. I think I will handle the second season in the same way.

Well I thought it went shit after a third into the first season when it became a mecha show instead of what I thought it was from the initial premise. It also had a lot of just plodding along that amounted to nothing. Overall I thought it was a good concept completely ruined by the direction it went and the storytelling.

Stop right there, don't watch 18. Watch 19-24, then stop. The 2006 FSN series is an anime original that heavily distorts the original Visual Novel, and is pretty shit. Not to mention, it spoils a bunch of stuffs from other routes (the episode 17/18 arc). Either read the VN or watch the ufotable unlimited blade works series. Most importantly, don't take anything from this series regarding characterization. If an ufotable series contradict an event from here, disregard the 2006 event. Alright alright. :D It feels hard but I stopped completely (I did think it was awesome). So... am I understanding correctly that I should watch the new UBW series first and only after that start with Zero (and Zero 2)? I have no clue (and as such am surprised people think it isn't very good) and won't read the VN most probably.
Also another lovely Akame ga Kill Theatre episode, always fun. :D
