When I stopped it was one or two episodes away from when the ball gets rolling. The first 12 episodes felt slightly confusing and disjointed, but better late than never I guess.

The first episodes felt like a parody of sci-fi with kids talking about time travel + stuff. It had a light atmosphere, alot of funny moments. And then bam

And then bam That's one way to put it. Personally I didn't find it all that funny, but everyone kept going on about how good it was so I kept trying to go on but failed. But damn that was some mood whiplash though, the first time it happens. It's been so long that I completely forgot about what happened in the beginning too before the first D-mail.

I do agree though that its a rather meh place to end a season but there will be OVAs apparently to polish it off. Also. Monogatari. Is. Good. All that needs to be said. How popular is Monogatari series in Japan? I would think it would be decently popular. So I wonder why the LN aren't translated and sold. Basically what i'm saying is that they should sell the LN in English so they can take my money god damnit. Also finding the dvds for the anime seems a bit weird? I found some really redic expensive what appears to be full seasons but that can't be the only version they sell those.

IIRC Bake (and Nise, sadly) are one of the most selling anime of past 10-15 yrs or smth?

Is that why I have seen the seasons on amazon for hundreds of bucks? I can't find any regular non-blueray $200+ sets lol.

After how they failed with Zaregoto, I don't see any company picking up the LNs to translate. If they did, they would do a terrible job. Again.

I don't know how big the Western otaku market is, but I think to spend money translating/printing/marketing Japanese LNs would be a huge risk. Consider the fact that hardcovers only need to sell in the thousands of copies to get onto the NYT Bestseller List.

Uhhh, Bake isn't Gundam SEED Destiny. Bake and Madoka are behind GSD in DVD/BD sales. Recent HD Remaster and all that.

Monogatari translation will be especially hard since Nisio pack it with word play that will be lost in translation. Fan translation can get away with it by using a ton of TN, but a official publishing probably can't.
