I actually do think the premise of SAO is really cool (albeit, not entirely original) and had huge potential. Too bad author had no clue where to go with it. Uta's rant about it earlier overlaps a lot with my opinion on the matter. Calling it the most brilliant of all time sounds like those Code Geass fans that post here every now and then. + Show Spoiler [Hayate 374] + meh, Hina is Hina so I'll take it. I feel so disillusioned about cute girls now D: Need A-tan arc still. | ||

It's certainly not a "brilliant" idea, although the idea definitely was a good one. It reminds me of Shakugan no Shana in a way, since I really loved the idea, but thought the execution certainly could have been better. Also, just saw the latest episode. + Show Spoiler [SAO - 7] + OH MY GOODNESS THEY RUSHED THINGS A TON. There was hardly any insight into the characters at all, and what was known about Liz's character was less of good explanation and more of intuition on the audience's part because everything is made super cliche. Granted, the story in the LN was cliche itself, but did they really feel so inclined to limit it to only half an hour? Also, I was waiting the ENTIRE time for them to reveal dual-swords. I'm guessing they'll instead have a flashback to that scene when they reveal it later? | ||

Anime you won't have a character sit there and monologue all their thoughts out to you. You can get away with that in novels, LNs, and VNs, because, well thats how such things work. In anime, that's not how things work. | ||

Why is the MC so against have sex with half the school? I know it'd probs turn out like School Days but god damn if that was me in an all-girls school I'd be a bit more... happy. Other than that, decent show with some laughs. Going to finish it off tonight. ^_^ | ||
