Taka and I both have a pair on flop, after some bullying pre-flop. Raise is called, he has a pair of Kings, I have a two-pair of six and Jack. He bullies his pair on 4th, I call (I'm pretty sure he has a pair). He knows I have two pairs, I know he has a single, he's bluffing and I call it.
Last card gives him a pair of Aces.
Fine, nice luck.
Later in a diff game I'm holding K6 and he's got CA,A. River is C9 C10 CQ X. He goes all in. I call bluff (have 2x his chips and he's desperate, didn't realize he had a fookin pocket AA though).
It's a J!
There's rejoice as he's knocked out by miracle luck...
... only to realize that it's a Jack of clubs.
Real.
He later lost on the same type of luck though (all-in and failed) so Karma :|
No real reason to call that all-in after the flop. Pre-flop, sure, but post-flop should not have. Unless you were meaning to say you had Kc and were hoping for him not having the Ac.

The original work is always better. Something like Majikoi?
Lol I think they'll try a little harder to make something a bit more substantial than majikoi. That was allllll fluff and terrible unwanted harem comedy.

if you mean the second hand,
Neither of us realized a flush was in play because we were so hung up on calling each other's bluff lol - I was bluffing because I have a tendency to play overly safe, so I *needed* to make a stand and be willing to bluff an expensive pot with a decent hand. I was also calling him out because he bluffs the shit out of people (4-person table and two guys were newbies so he was bullying the hell out of everyone) and because I knew he was desperate... it was like the perfect storm of both of us forgetting about the flush possibility lol. Too funny.

I have rockets. After some pre-flop shenanigans, board is something like 8s 10d Ac. I bet pot. He calls. cool. 2h. I bet pot again. Reraise. wtf? I got trips and the only thing I fear is a draw on a straight but what kind of idiot would go this far with that? Something's telling me to fold but that's crazy talk. River is a 4. I know what's coming. I bet, he goes all in. I can't fold in this situation but what do you know, he rivered a straight with a 3,5.
Not a beat but a dam annoying one nonetheless. I have K 10. Flop is A 10 10. Very nice. My small bet scares away everyone but one guy. He goes all in. I'm just like "lol easy money" (I've labeled him a bluffer from earlier play). he has something like 5 7 offsuit. Turn is an A. River is an A. split pot. WTFFFFFFF?
I have lots of stories, but I don't play anymore though cause my luck is always like that.

Time of Eve was a beautiful anime, it made me cry multiple times. I found the movie to be quite clever and have well timed comic reliefs.
One of those few animes that you could rewatch over again to see if you could pick up more from it.
Glad I chose this one out of my long list of animes to watch.

I started watching Winter Sonata. Not the anime adaptation, but the Korean original. The episodes are each so long that it's going to take me forever to find time to watch it, but so far it's not bad.

Randomly was thinking about Itazura na Kiss today, and it blew my mind that Nana Mizuki voiced the MC of that series.

The ending seemed anticlimactic to me, and I don't enjoy plots where the viewers are left that much uninformed about the anime's world. But the animation was beautiful, and something made me care about the characters.
Thoughts?

I read the post about the anime chart, but without researching each entry and hoping that I liked it, I figured I would defer to someone with a lot more experience.
Based on my ratings, and those anime in which I enjoyed, I was hoping someone could recommend me some series to begin watching again:

Thanks.

FLCL. It's only 6 episodes.
Maybe try Another. I noticed you liked Evangelion, and I'll just assume that's because it was grim/deep, rather than because it was a meccha. Another is kind of grim - which is what I liked it for.

It was a OVA put together to make a movie. I dont think ur expected to have a climactic ending, rather short stories melded together. The last story was really nice though, but that didnt give me tears. It was the + Show Spoiler + that really hit me.
And I thought the artwork was beatiful too, and all the characters were likeable. + Show Spoiler +figuring out who was a android and who wasnt was fun too
I thought the anime's world was well explained btw. Not sure what else u wanted from it. The Ethics Commitee already gave u an idea of how the general population felt about androids.

But the animation was beautiful, and something made me care about the characters. Thoughts? haha, one of my favorite parts of the the series was the fact that we don't really have a firm idea of what's happening in the world. it makes the protag's experiences in the cafe much more human, because we really know what's happening from their perspective, rather than knowing everything in the big picture. its why i feel the movie is inferior to the series, as although more of whats going on is explained, character development was cut as a result. it detracts what the story is really about, the androids autonomy and the protags acceptance of it, in exchange for a bigger picture, which is ultimately unimportant.

We never got to know just how sophisticated the up-to-date andriods are. Do they really have emotions, or not? What was the purpose + Show Spoiler +for them to attend the cafe? If it was emotions, wouldn't designing emotions into andriods built for the profit of humans be counterproductive?
Also, we never got to know about how the cafe originated.
