I feel like I have watched a few too many "weak male main character" animes lately. Is there a specific genre you're looking for, because there are quite a few anime with pretty good female leads. Hmm, I have watched things like clannad and toradora! and on the other hand stuff like black lagoon, code geass, asura cryin, claymore, etc. So I guess romantic, comedy, action or something like that. Sorry if it's still a bit vague. So I guess just any show with a strong female lead + not pussy male lead? - Special A - Fruits Basket (probably qualifies) - Kaichou wa maid-sama - Haruhi - Ouran High School Host Club - School Rumble - Shugo Chara - Ga-Rei Zero - Grenadier - Needless (Eve is kind of the main character in a way) - Scrapped Princess (you may or may not actually consider her to be a strong lead. At the very least I thought she was fitting for her role) Top ones are more comedy/romance, bottom are more action/adventure. good recommendations! when i watched needless at first i thought "WOW GURREN LAGANN HAS AN EQUAL!!!" but the second half seems to be the problem with those series xD Gurren Lagann has plenty of equals/betters. Of course, opinion. I haven't had a super robot show hit me nearly as hard as Gurren Lagann. Out of curiosity, what shows have you seen to compare it to? Note: I'm not intending to argue, just curious. GGG, G Gundam, Gun Buster (been a while on that one), Kotetsu Jeeg, Zoids New Century (if that actually counts), Full Metal Panic (doesn't really count, but amusing at least). I suppose it could also be our definitions of "better". I don't really count these shows by story or plot, but rather by awesome characters, hot bloodedness, and pure "what the fuck am I watching and why does it make me happy in the pants?". In terms of story, TTGL's is pretty good, but not the best, so if that's what you're going off of I could agree. Does GGG include GaoGaiGar Final? I.... don't know. I haven't watched GGG since like, high school (holy shit just realized that that means 5+ years ago, dammit), and I don't really remember whether I did the follow up or not.

Its the only anime I've ever streamed twice on IRC, lol. Once for Ferrose, and then more recently for Echo.

Cool, I'll check it out. I'll probably have to marathon the rest of it as well, just because.

KNIM's getting an Anime? I had no idea.

Should I watch Kara no Kyoukai in chronological order or 1-8 order? Why is it not chronological automatically? Is it SUPPOSED to be watched 1-8? By chronological I mean 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7, Epilogue And what is this remix thingy?
"Watch it in this order if you want to have an easier understanding of the story." But I want to watch it as the makes of anime wanted a fan to watch it. :<

and whoever said watching it in chronological order would make understanding it easier is crazy.

That said, it is rare for there to be a reason to vary from original medium in terms of storytelling, since by changing the pace of the original to that extent, you are basically making a new thing. The only thing that actually pulled that was iirc Haruhi.

I want to finish Rakkyo and Tsukihime before a Mahoyo translation is out.
This is totally not the third time I started Rakkyo.

Its a romance/drama anime. If you are expecting anything other than that, you are in for a disappointment. Your mileage may vary. After Story is where most of the hype is for Clannad, anyway.

It has a slow start, and honestly Clannad After Story is where most of the good content is. However, you need to watch through it all to be able to enjoy it. Hang in there, I also found it to be fairly boring at the beginning but counting both Clannad and Clannad After story it's extremely good.

Clannad anime is "okay". After Story is good. Just live through the first season.
I'm biased against first though cos it shatters the girls I liked from the VN in favour of one of the ones I barely could stand. It's still watchable though and has some really funny moments. As Sent said though it might not really be your kind of anime. It'd need something ridiculously good to pull someone in that isn't really a fan of the genre.

I guess it's more a matter of how much time really passed; felt like they were running around long enough for it to spread elsewhere, but that's anime time for you. I mentioned airtight due to the lack of smoke and light, actually, rather than the explosion. The fireball explosion is actually what I approve of the most in terms of physics (was more a result of several other not so believable things) but still hilarious to see. Not that it matters since it was a log house. It's called a backdraft

Also watch KnK in production order, chonological has the potential to be even more confusing (achronological is not that confusing to begin with) since they explain aspects of the world and how it works in production order. Not to mention the fact you will get mega spoiled

It really has slow start but if you where it's going after few eps and you are interested even in more 'deep'(?) storyline <<afterstory>> is worth checking out. On second note that's alot eps you have to watch in clannad if you want experience of 'Clannad' before the afterstory.
