Well, we can't be as certain with Hanekawa, but I don't really think many people suit the braided hair look anyway (and she wasn't one of those). Either way, both of them are growing their hair back some by koimonogatari, and Kanbaru just keeps on letting her hair grow till Hanamonogatari. Specifically with Gahara-san, the promise that she made Araragi keep for taking him to Kaiki amounted to have him put up with her while she changes, whatever she does. Book wise Nise was definitely better, stronger theme from following only one character, stronger banter by just throwing a ton of them at you for little reason other than preparation for main theme and fan service. Anime wise I'd have to say Bake was stronger, but that's only because they decided to fuck a bit with vol 2 and weaken the message by cutting Araragi and Kaiki lines among others. The execution of Nise was good, but they weren't quite able to use the pacing from the books properly and made it felt somewhat dragged out. Just letting it play out as the books had is a poor idea for an anime considering how the monogatari books lately are basically first 1/2 = banter, second 1/2 = stuff goes down, structure wise. While the banters do their part in setting up for the main theme, it is somewhat harder to appreciate because Nishio Ishin throws it all at you mixed with a ton of fanservice. Like, take Karen Bee's banters, everything that wasn't Nadeko was contributing to the main theme. Just that with all the fanservice, they were both harder to place a finger and just took a shitton longer. Well, one has to do what one needs to sell the DVDs with, but I had hoped they'd be more imaginative when it comes to handling the pacing in changing medium. Not all the trolling in the books will work for anime, after all. Incidentally Tsukihi banter queen of Nise, followed closely by Hachikuji. Those two plus Shinobu probably the ones that shined the most in Nise anime. Which is unfortunately considering how in the books both Araragi and Kaiki would've made the list as well. | ||

It's true I was half expecting after that pseudo hyperbolic time chamber thing for him to just awaken it I'm glad it hasn't happened yet honestly, also the whole thing about "X-Rounder is a regression not an evolution" was a nice little touch. Also seeing the Genaoce modified to have the Gundam AGE-1 Titan(or w/e)armor on was pretty sick too. The only thing missing is for Asemu to suddenly become an x-rounder and destroy everyone except Zeheart, because, as you all know, no matter how awesome the MCs new-found power is he can never fully defeat his nemesis. Also haven't you guys found that the plot seems a little generic when compared to other series (not specifically mech)? | ||
