I thought the action was amazing, Sunrise whipping everything out to make them so. The central "plotline" of the series finally is explained in-depth. I think if I'm recommending the series to people, this week would be when I'd really do it, and I'd say "watch up to ep 5." If they don't like it then, it's just not for them, and that's that. However... + Show Spoiler + I can't help but feel dismayed at the cutting of so much of Kaduno and Tadakatsu's lines over episodes 4 and 5. I think they put too much emphasis (time-wise) on the other characters in eps 1-3 that they really shanked themselves here. IMO they were the central figures of the first book, which is why at the end Kawakami devotes significant amount of time to the ending sequence (of the episode) in the book. MANLY TEARS. I feel like those two are the characters he singled out to "sell" the series; everything else is a clusterfuck but Tadakatsu and Kaduno inspire you to keep reading. It worries me whether people who haven't read the book will feel the same amount of "SO AWESOME" about the two, because otherwise it's deflating ala Gundam Age ep 3. | ||

Also the legitimate angry version of Shana's triple urusai will have to satisfy my tsundere needs for now. | ||

Except he doesn't necessarily want to kill anybody (unless, I'm assuming, they get in the way), so he's not quite yandere. Lack of tsundere is going to suck. | ||

lolyuriscenes I think the big "underground bento organization" should surface sometime in the next episode. Right now, it just seems like random fighting. Granted, it's introducing some characters, but it really just made Shaga look super weak. | ||

I thought she was going to be like super powerful, but she got owned so easily by Yarizuri. Also thought that other guy was going to beat the crap out of You, as a way to introduce a new character, but he just got owned as just like a minor boss fight. Nothing says serious like the involvement of some underground evil-looking bento corporation/organization. This episode needed more Oishiro screen time, but Yarizuri reading her novel was hilarious to watch. | ||
