There have been quite a few posts in this thread predicting and explaining this. Short version is: She is a nonviolent person and never(literally never) practiced attacking. You can be trained to be lightning fast on defense, and not quick on attack. In Dune this is because people have personal shield which react to how fast your a moving your blade, slow attacks get through, fast one don't, but in Rebecca's case it's because she litterally never once made an aggressive move in her life. Her body has the ability so do quick attacks, yes, but she lacks the skill/training and more importantly the mental will to do so. | ||

It's not enough to bump into someone at high speed, you have to collide with force and without flinching. Putting the force into the collision takes body tension(a thing you have to train). Not hurting yourself while "walking into someone" requires an amount of technique and reflexes(something you have to train) as well. Having a knife somewhere on you while doing that makes it more complex, not less complex. Tie it to her body? Must be strapped on really tight to the body part she tackles with. Hold it in her hand? Requires at least RUDIMENTARY TRAINING WITH A WEAPON. Do you know what fighting style requires no training at all? Shooting a gun from close range at an immobile target. Too bad that Diamante has the gun. | ||
