I want to add that I really hate Garp. im glad he resign as a Marine because he dont deserve to wear "Justice" jackets. Ace was killed, Luffy was almost killed, and he just watched it. I dont how kind of justice is that. Being a hero of the Navy is more important than your family? nah Garp is a fucking failure. ------------ Aokiji was the strongest Admiral. He lost against Akainu just because Akainu's df was his anti. | ||

And Garp was in such a tough position to do anything to help Ace, the next thing we know was that akainu's magma fist in Ace's chest, everything happened just too quickly. If I was Oda I would sacrifice Garp later at some point, to redeem his 'guilt' of not able to save Ace etc, just to make us teary again  and guys, Garp is the mentor of all those big names marines/admirals....I don't think you want to compare how strong he is to the rest of his students, sure he might lose if the plot wanted that but i have no doubt he can punch the shit out of everyone whenever he feels like it. And honestly we only know very little of how strong of all the big names marine/pirate like akainu, garp, sengoku, aokiji, marco, shanks's whole crew etc maybe with the exception of Kizaru since he showed alot of his skills on bubble island, but still we don't know their exact fight powers because battle of marineford was such a mess, lots of disruptions here and there etc. Say those big names/experienced players in the new world are all above lvl80, we have seen them beating the newcomers convincingly (which is logical) but we haven't seen any proper 1v1 fight between these lvl80s, the only example would be akainu and aokiji and we are told that both of them didn't end well after the fight despite akainu 'won'. And who knows maybe aokiji actually beat akainu but gave up the seat to him as a little plot twist. Just be patience and wait for oda to unfold everything. | ||

I would bet the out of all the old school peeps Garp and senguku are the closest to their prime, meaning they could give sakazuki and such a decent pasting after a battle or fight a 1v1 vs a Yonko. | ||

But its been implied that when people get older in OP they become weaker since its been showed by the 2 people you've mentioned. Also have you not since the post-timeskip Sengoku? Time definitely took a toll on him. | ||

The old school pirates have made complaints but Garp + sengoku (who we haven't seen actually fight like the Old ass Pirates) haven't seemed bothered at all. They may not be at their absolute prime but they certainly aged better than Whitebeard given they are of similar age. | ||

Also, it might not be just about dealing x amount of damage. But actually about stamina as well. The more senior characters would seem to have difficulty fighting a drawn out battle as well as their 'sta' has degraded. Hence, they maybe able to deal same x amount of damage like before in their prime, but with a limit. so again, below their 'prime' levels. i am not arguing that the other characters are not strong. Just arguing the fact that they would be able to stand and win in a 1v1. That is why kizaru looks to be the strongest in a 1v1 fight. His powers give him the speed (regardless of his age), concentrated damage potential to a fixed point in the body of his opponent plus he has admiral level haki. He can also create a weapon if he neesa to (lightsaber) just for the hell of it. He is the odd ball character that has never gotten serious, even in a crisis because i think he has always has a way out if he needs to (via lightspeed travel). We've never seen him serious, but the other admirals have been serious in battle already. How about this, among the admiral marines, can we theorycraft a battle against any of the shibukai? Who would have trouble where at least? Fujitora, aokiji, akainu and kizaru. Imagine a fight with a shibukai for now. 1v1. | ||
