Snake Princess is Hancock.

That's the Snake Princess he's talking about :p
This is really starting to feel Alabasta-like indeed, which in many many ways is good. Hope they add an Enies Lobby to this saga as it was for Water7 :p

I feel like this might just become a real setup arc again. Like, Punk Hazard was the obvious setup for this one but I feel like what's really been kept low is the factory string of the storyline. Yeah it's been mentioned in the manga a bunch that they're searching for it and destroying it but I feel like what happens there will set up a really HUGE arc in the future. From what we've heard so far I wouldn't be surprised if Kaidou was the next big antagonist after this.
Think about it, Kaidou's been perfectly set up to be the big name Luffy takes out to really turn the heads. Shanks apparently had no trouble with Kaidou, Moria was said to be on par with him at some point so Kaidou's overall reputation in the readers' eyes is already a bit weakened. That's exactly what you wanna do as a storyteller. You don't want your main character just taking out someone who's built up to be the strongest until the very end. You want them to take out really strong people yes, but slowly. Luffy eventually has to take out a Yonkou and Kaidou just happens to fit the role perfectly.
And with him supposedly relying on Smile fruits, if Luffy and Law destroy the factory and continue their alliance then I really feel like he's the next big step. Or at least the next subarcs are going to slowly advance on him.

Law mentioned that Dofla and Kaido have an arrangement.
He then specifically messes up that arrangement with an alliance with SH, after telling him that they're going after a Yonko.
Hmm.. I thought it was obvious that they were going for Kaido
|
pretty sure law explicitly said that the yonkou he was targeting was kaidou. at the end of punk hazard

Well then screw me, I missed the obvious link. Still pretty impressive how smoothly Oda started setting this up basically back during the Thriller Bark arc

Shanks and Kaido didnt fight, Shanks fleet fought with some of Kaidous fleet
and we only know Moria and Kaidou have a history
Kaidou was called the "the strongest thing alive" by Law, mos tlikely he has the biggest amount of personal power out of all the emporers
|
For some reason I keep thinking that Kaido is an Apatosaurus, or long-neck dinosaur. I don't know where I got it in my head but I keep visualizing him as Littlefoot's mother, leading an army beastmen so vast that they could annihilate the entire Grand Line.

Shanks has a fleet? I thought he was just one pirate ship

I wouldn't exactly say that Moria was on par with him, considering that all we know about their rivalry is that Kaidou wiped out Moria's crew (I see their rivalry in the same vein as the "Crocodile-Whitebeard" rivalry, very lopsided powerwise) . Also Law clearly stated that if Kaidou turned against Doflamingo, Kaidou's crew would wipe the floor with Doflamingo's. As to Shanks easily dealing with him, all we know is that Kaidou tried to prevent Whitebeard from sailing on Marineford, and that Shanks intercepted him, and since we don't know what exactly happened, it doesn't lower him in our eyes. Also, I don't think that I would consider someone known as "the strongest creature in the world", as easy prey.
The way I see things, before the end of this arc Luffy will chaotically end up in conflict, with almost every major power on the seas, having offended Big Mom with the whole hidden bomb in treasure thing, caused problems with Kaidou by destroying his Smiles production, and gotten into a war with Blackbeard (possibly by beating up Burgess?). Its possible that he will team up with Moria to fight Kaidou first, but I don't think that Luffy will pick his antagonists in such a linear fashion. He will also probably piss off the Kidd-Hawkins-Apoo Supernova coalition for some random reason, and will try to fight Shanks to prove that he has improved, for all I know.

I don't think he'll fight shanks
|
Very unlikely that he'd fight Shanks if he were in the position you discribed ^^
|
This arc is like bizzaro alabasta, where the takeover already happened and luffy will fix what happened in the past
|
Kaidou and Moria weren't "equals" :D Kaidou absolutely destroyed his crew so that the only one remaining was Moria himself :D. Which is why I think that Moria will eventually join Luffy in the fight vs kaidou and he gets another ally.
We already know that Moria is in the New World together with Absalom and Hogback so it makes sense to see them return for that arc.
|
I dislike moria, gutless, not funny, not strong, not even a good villain, he's ugly and he has the shittiest devil fruit, he's also so vain lol fuck moria it's a shame he didn't die

I am so hyped about Shadow luffy . Maybe this time is stronger than last time because Moria use the skill himself to transform luffy!.
If it happens ...
I always liked Shadow luffy, looked so unbeatable and scary like a real bad guy. I dont know if Moria can steal shadow of dead people, that will be more cool because all the dead people are so powerful.
I really hope shadow luffy make a return, not just 1 time thing.
I also hope for SogeKing keke.

We don't want Naruto's Edo Tensei version 2, do we? lol

To be honest, Hachi was just a random villain too before becoming an ally of the straw hats. I have to trust Oda once again on this one.
